Hello, nice to be here. I am 63 years old and trying to develope a relationship with Jesus. I hope it's not too late. I have a lifetime of sin that continues to echo in the vast intricate valleys of my mind, body and spirit. Though even that is getting vague in my memories, I am still horrified by flashes of things I've done. I look upon the innocent faces of my grandchildren and pray they do not have to undergo such things to find out they don't have to and we have a decisions to make. I Thank God for his grace and mercy.

Thank you for that. We are so glad you have come. :):coffee:
Many of the greatest saints of the Bible got off to bad starts. It is the end game that matters. The thief on the cross is one of the most beautiful stories in the Bible.

Luke 23:
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

You picked a very fine favorite verse...

Proverbs 1:33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure without fear of evil

Welcome to CC, dear sister. (y)

you are making the wisest choice anyone can make. being born again is what Jesus taught & meant for people. Psalm 95:7,8 Hebrews 3:7,8 & 2nd Corinthians 6:2 all state that NOW is the time be saved, when you hear of it. as soon as anyone becomes born again, the Holy Spirit lives with you for the remainder of your life. NOW IS NEVER TOO LATE!!! pray to Jesus & talk to Him everyday.

Hi and nice to meet you, welcome! A couple thoughts, it is NEVER too late as our God and Father is for us and doesn't want us to go down. Second when we accept Jesus into our hearts, bam!, our sins have been covered by the Blood of the Lamb and forgotten. So in God's records they are gone and we don't need to dwell on them, kick them back out. There is now 'no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus'. God bless you and your family and sounds like your main duty is to display the love of Jesus!

It's never to late, that is just the devil trying to prevent you from knowing your Loving Father. Jesus died for all mankind and He waits with open arms to welcome you to the family of God. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. And we still can not make it on our own we need Jesus every day in everything we do.

Hello Aerious,

Even though someone's mind may hold onto memories they regret, there are a couple things that will refresh the mind with new thoughts.

The short message in this link
applies to adults exactly the same as it does for children. This is the first step.

Once you receive that all so valuable Gift , then it will definitely help to establish a daily routine of reading God's Word. If you need an online audio and written Bible
let me know and I'll get you one. The routine is not what saves you, it is Christ Who does that. Afterwards, there's a protocol for healing the mind, the soul, that can then occur.

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes."
Psalm 119:11

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Romans 12:2

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
Jesus to the Father in John 17:17

Welcome to the board!

Aerious, the way Satan (actually I believe it’s a demon) attacks me the most, which has been very effective throughput my life is with my memory. I have relived hundred of thousand scenes over the course of my life, what I should have done/said in any situation, and worrying what people think about me. I have become very astute in recognizing his activity in my thought live. Now a days, I don’t allow the attack to go very far and I tell the enemy that I’m not going to be his mouth piece in giving voice or thought to his influence’s and suggestions, it is a constant battle.

Thank you so much for responding. In my culture, you do not look in anyone in the eye, it is disrespectful, but I've learned differently, but can't shake the guilt when I do. It weakens me, I try to overcome it.

I'm afraid I'm missing the connection between shyness and your cultural difficulties.

In America, there is a thin line concerning staring at people, on one side it could be considered disrespectful on the other side eye contact in conversation it could be a sign of great respect. :)
