reminds me of back in 2013. was at my friends house & said, "let's see about dating sites". so immediately, we found 3 women who posted pics of themselves when they were around 25 but their age was around 50!!!

It's also popular for middle-aged men to use military pictures of a 19-year-old fresh recruit as their avatar (and the young man in the picture might not even have been them.)

Or to describe themselves as "athletic," when the last time they ran a lap was in a high school gym class.

wow, is that funnneee! America may be the most out of shape people in the world. it's too bad that people don't know these proven facts: 1. people who work fast are happier people. 2. people who liker to think are happier. 3. people who stay busy ae happier people. 4. people who exercise are happier people. 5. people who enjoy what they do for a living are happier people!!!

No it's not. Asserting something doesn't make it fact. One example doesn't make it fact (but one counter example such as @Lynx posted does prove it isn't universal fact).

By the way, I hate working fast. I find it stressful and exhausting.

There's a branch of DARPA who's stated goal is to know everything about everyone.

There are 55 US agencies that monitor these social media sites to collect info and trade it.

The US Census sends out the American Community Survey with threats for not completing it fully. I've been told $100/ Question and $5,000 fine. They DO sell your personal information regardless of what they say. As far back as WW2, they lied and used the demographics to force many thousands of Americans into concentration camps. Families lost homes, businesses and years of their lives to imprisonment against Constitutional "protection."
The new questionnaire asks many personal health questions, financial and family information. These are illegal to ask by any business or corporation. They are way over the top intrusive and dangerous information for those who provide the answers. Then they bully, harass and threaten you in violation to the 4th and 5 the Amendments to the Constitution.

Guess what? Before breaking into a home, the thieves will case your home to see if you are home before breaking in to steal. ...most of the time. They want to know what you own and how to breach the house, and who lives there. That didn't work out so well for the dirt bag a couple weeks ago. I live in a nice neighborhood. My doors held up to breaching tools, so I wasn't forced to ...... I'll just leave it there.
However, I caught him and he is in prison now. Potentially 1-15 years upon conviction and sentencing. By the grace of God, I was home when he chose to attack. It was after midnight. The Lord taught me great lessons from that awesome experience. He is truly THE Protector. Praise the Lord, because we are all going to face tougher battles than that in the near future if what I suspect is correct.

Actually, I'm not that hard to find for the people I want to find me.

This May will be my 14th anniversary on CC, and over that time, there have been about 25 people whom I originally met here online that I later met in real life. Most aren't here anymore, and I've lost touch with several.

But for the people I'm closest to online, I have a tendency of showing up on THEIR doorsteps (even if it takes years,) and in a few cases, a couple have shown up on mine.

working fast isn't for everyone. there's such a wonderful feeling working fast. at the end of the day, you wear a smile, you feel great joy knowing you did the best you could. & the Lord is well pleased. i'm probably, at least a little, a "busyaholic"!!! since i moved out of my dad's house, i've only had 2 t.v.'s. never really liked watching tv, even when i was a kid. blessings to you

General awareness.
Timing.


I don't think basic layered security should bother anyone but I think plausibility is more important than possibility. You can end up tying your hands and be starving socially, emotionally, and physically if you focus on what is possible.

Another element is that it may not even be possible for you specifically. How do you know? If it's happened to someone you know then I think that's more relevant data but something you read on the internet that happened to one person at one time? Probably not useful.


I'm pretty aware of what is possible and at least one poster has mentioned some of the more extreme possibilities...some of them aren't able to countered outside total disconnection (if at all).

Life itself can be pretty dangerous, we are mortal after all...

There does come a point though where we have to leave the details and the dangers up to the Lord...not "putting him to the test" but truly, we have some pretty solid limitations. If you get feedback from friends and family and even church members or (CC) and still that doesn't answer it maybe it's time to just pray about it. Consider the plausible risks, counter what you are able to, and move into the unknown?

All of this has taken a lot of time walking with the Lord to figure out...I think I've definitely been a bit "too cautious" and missed out on things. The risk with personal relationship is real but do I trust the Lord within it?


Personally I think what I post is personal information. It says a lot more about who I am than my name and physical address. I'd like to do an experiment where I record a soundbite of one of my posts and just see what people think of it...I think people are getting a 24ct crayola crayon version of me on CC vs the 64ct crayon "IRL" version but I do think I echo myself genuinely. In text I'm a bit more aloof and also, this is public.

Certainly not my preferred medium. There's a lot to say though and while I could talk about it for an hour and some people don't mind listening, reading can get quite taxing.

Now I'm psychoanalyzing text vs speech and want to talk for a while about it so I digress.
