Agree. But it's the reason sex education classes are self defeating. You introduce sin to a bunch of
people already experiencing hormone infusions. Couple that with a predisposition to sin and viola.

Apparently, God saw fit to create what He did. He said it was good. He liked it so much He repeated it across zoological creation.
Probably a good thing then that you are not married.

How old are you? You sound about 14.
So if it was good, why did God tell Adam and Eve to cover up?
Maybe you'd like to join a "christian" nudist group?

Of all of David's parts on display, the little guy disturbs you because he is just hanging out with the rest of the parts? I can see it how it might be porn if it seemed, interested, but he isn't doing anything but relaxing with the knee and the armpit...
Not doing anything? He's standing there completely naked. Why would anyone wish to be seen naked? If you're showing off your private parts, there can only be one reason: to get people to look at them, and want to do something with them. What does that part of the body do? Piss and fornicate.
Hey, let's make a statue of David pissing!

The OT is full of prohibitions against nudity. God doesn't even want to see it .

Look on people with lust is the problem, might as well just cover your eyes then.

Looking at the body parts used in evil acts is going to bring evil thoughts. There's no reason for a man to be walking around with his thing sticking out unless he plans to use it for something.
I met someone once who called himself a "christian nudist". To my ears, that sounded as contradictory as "gay christian" does to some of you.

michaelangel obviously did not read the Bible, or maybe only part of it. Also his sistine chapel is inaccurate. Since when did God poke Adam with his finger?

Adam and Eve covered THEMSELVES up. They tried to cover their sin.

God showed them that without the shedding of innocent Blood there can be no forgiveness of sin.

I'd also argue an unnatural censorship of anything related to male or female helps culture the sick society we have today, which too often can't even define the difference between a man and a woman. While I am not a female, my understanding is that females aren't generally aroused by appearances - so it's a hard call to describe the art as pornography. If it were, would Michelangelo really have made David's manhood comparable in size to a baby carrot? (And an uncircumcised one at that!?!)

Circumcision is one of the main covenants of the bible, and is spoken about quite openly. While the focus is on circumcision of the heart in the New Testament, surely you admit it would be difficult to understand the metaphor without having a cursory understanding of male anatomy? Men and women have different bodies, but having a basic understanding of this, or portraying it in art, is not pornography. Need I go into Song of Solomon, where the maiden's breasts are spoken of openly, and descriptive analogies are made to other interesting features of female anatomy?

Just because art features specifically male or female anatomy doesn't make it pornographic, and even references to love making do not necessarily make art pornographic (e.g. Song of Solomon). Masculinity, femininity and the union thereof in marriage is part of God's created order, and a Puritanical condemnation of anything simply because it is remotely related to one or more of these only leads to suppression which will later result in perversion.

I can see why your summer is lonely. Like I said, perhaps 14? Are you grounded?

So let's just let it all hang out, because covering it up just leads to curiosity about what we are hiding. It wasn't God who told Adam and Eve to cover up.
I wonder if my old friend still has his collection of Playboy and Penthouse magazines?

It's called art. For those who are scared of it, they can just stay in their moms' basements.

I wonder if my old friend still has his collection of Playboy and Penthouse magazines?
Lol. If you can't tell the difference between a Michelangelo's David and a Playboy magazine, you probably should stay in your mom's basement. One is art, the other is filth.

Several reports talk about how the parents have complained about the lack of notice per the schools policy that something like this would be shown ( a newer policy that had only been in effect for about 2 weeks) and not giving parents time to notify the school if they did not want their child(ren) viewing

I find it strange that parents who choose to send their children to a school that places emphasis on classical education and liberal arts would pitch such fits when classical arts are presented.

The reports say this was shown to a class of 6th graders. By 6th grade, kids are well aware of the differences between males and females, and usually they still giggle and laugh about it.

Stupidity and ignorance is reaching critical mass with some people.

Principal resigns in Fla. amid parent complaints over art lesson with image of Michelangelo’s ‘David’
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray News) - The former principal for a Tallahassee charter school resigned after what she called a “series of miscommunications” regarding a sixth grade art class lesson that included an image of Michelangelo’s ‘David.’ The situation drew several complaints from parents, and has launched debate over the school’s policies.

Tallahassee Classical School confirmed to WCTV the art lesson took place last Friday, and several parents reached out to express concerns that same day.

Board Chair Barney Bishop confirmed that as part of an emergency meeting a few days later on Monday, former principal Hope Carrasquilla was given an ultimatum to either resign or be terminated.

“She is an at will employee,” Bishop said. “Just like any of our other teachers at the school.”

Bishop said accepting Carrasquilla’s resignation was not solely because of what happened in the classroom, but would not say why he asked for her resignation at the advice of the school’s employment lawyer.

Carrasquilla also confirmed two choices were given, and she said that in the meeting with the board it was conveyed to her “it wasn’t one specific thing” that lead to the decision. article continues

So now we are going to have teen-agers thinking sex is dirty and not normal and some will go elsewhere to find out about it because their parents are reacting to the actual porn and filth that is making the rounds and not differentiating what is and what is not evil. A little balance people?

and DeSantis continues his battle with Disney.

He didn't
They covered up on their own
That's right. God later made animal skin coverings for them, but they made themselves fig leaf coverings before God confronted them. Good point.

And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; so they sewed together fig leaves and made coverings for themselves.
Gen. 3:7
