Each month I watch for reports coming out of Israel that the new sliver moon has been visually by the naked eye seen. A Hebrew month can only be 29 or 30 days. We know by NASA's sources and apps made from NASA's sources exactly when the moon is in conjunction. Conjunction means the moon and sun are so close in proximity that the moon has 0% light. This only lasts for a few minutes, however it can take up to 3 days, mostly 2 days, to have enough visible light to be seen again with the naked eye. This visually sighting is how most Hebrews determine when the new month begins. Now each month while seeking to visually see the new sliver, it is possible that weather conditions and cloud coverage will prohibit the sighting on the 29th day. By default, the month becomes a 30 day month, regardless of a sighting or not on day 30.

It is this Hebrew idiom "no man knows the day or hour" that Christ states in Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Christ is giving us a "hint", however in our unbibilical educaated western thinking minds we see it quite differently. We take the meaning to be literal. However, do you not know that the Father does everything on His Feast Days?

For example, the day that the commandments were given to the children of Israel and those strangers/foreigners/aliens who were with them, was given on the very first Shavuot/Pentecost. When the Holy Spirit was given to the new church, it was also Shavuot/Pentecost. The Feast of Shavuot was a commanded journey to be taken three times a year. For Passover/Feast of Unleavened bread in the Spring, For Shavuot/Pentecost/Feast of weeks in the summer and for Feast of Tabernacles in the Fall.

  1. Exo_23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
  2. Deu_16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:
  3. 1Ki_9:25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.
  4. 2Ch_8:13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
During the Passover season, the Barley becomes ripe and is needed for the wave sheath day.
During the Shavuot/Pentecost season, the Wheat becomes ripe and is harvested.
During the Feast of Tabernacles the fruit trees and grapes are ready for harvesting.

Jesus was the offering of the Barley as firstfruits and He carried some who came alive from their graves with Him to present as First Fruits.

We already have two historic events on Shavuot/Pentecost. First, the giving of the covenant/marriage vows and all the people said "we will do".
The Second historical event was the giving of the Holy Spirit. Because it was a commanded time to assemble in Jerusalem, many men were there.

Now I am proposing a theory (I know many object and need only scriptures to back up everything you believe). That theory is that we are to "watch" for another historical even on Shavuot/Pentecost. Since this is the harvest of Wheat, I believe on some future Pentecost/Shavuot that the rapture will take place.
Scriptures that say to "watch" Matthew 14:25; 24:42,43; 25:13; 26:38,40,41; 27:65,66; 28:11; Mark 6:48; 13:33,34,35,37; 14:34,37,38; Luke 2:8; 12:38; 21:36; Acts 20:31; 1 Corinthians 16:13; Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:6; 2 Timothy 4:5; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 4:7; Revelation 3:3.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins
Mat 25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The five foolish left to go buy on a commanded High Sabbath day. Lev 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

What is actually happening here is the five wise know the prohibition to not sell or buy, but because the five foolish have "Done away with the law" they are unaware of this prohibition.

The story of Ruth and Boaz occurs at the end of the Wheat Harvest. They married at this time. So the story of Ruth and Boaz, is the story of the saints who are to be caught up in the air to meet our bride groom.

1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Mat_25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Luk_13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Luk_13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
Joh_5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

How can a believer who is saved not have the love of God in them? Ruth told Naomi "Your God will be my God".

Hosea 1:9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

In the story of Hosea, we find that God has a harlot wife (House of Israel/ten tribers) and divorces them, but He still loves her and cannot break his own Marriage and Divorce Law to take her back (See Deuteronomy 24:1-4) So His eternal plan was to come in the flesh as Immanuel (God with Us), live a perfect life, die, be buried for 3 days and 3 nights, and resurrect and bring the first fruits of the Barley Harvest time to heaven. He returns and is with the disciples explaining everything to them. He returns to heaven 40 days later and ten days later all of Jerusalem is filled with the men who have come for the commanded Feast of Shavuot/Pentecost. The apostles are able to declare the Truth and many were filled with the Holy Spirit who then went forth spreading the Good News. Now when Paul comes on the scene, he is to reach out to the Gentiles/lost sheep of the House of Israel/ten tribers. See Romans 7 for how Paul figures out the Mystery of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

See yah in the air on a future Shavuot/Pentecost Wheat Harvest. Shalom.

Wow! That was actually really insightful. Before I get too excited, are you one of those who think we should get circumcised in the new covenant?

“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”

This verse comes to mind with your question.

John_16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The word watch there is not to watch for signs, but rather to stay ready.
Stay ready because you dont know when, is the idea. Not watch for moon signs.
The message in the parable of the virgins, is to prepare, and then stay prepared.

few questions to you @Grace911 already:

do you believe we must be circumcised in the new covenant?
do you believe we must sacrifice animals in the new covenant?

if yes, why, scripture please?
if no, why not, scripture please?
From the OT regarding circumcise:

GRACE 911 ANSWER:

Deu_10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
Deu_30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Who was the following covenant made with?
Gen 17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

Man child at 8 days old is not capable of following the commandment. It's the parents who are in the commonwealth of Israel who are keeping the commandment. Even the stranger or alien had the same one law for all.

Gen 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
Gen 17:12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
Gen 17:13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
Gen 17:14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

Do you remember when Jospeph had a private meeting with his brothers in Egypt? What did he show them to prove that he was their brother? His circumcision? That is correct. This is a covenant with God's people. Are you God's people?

From the NT regarding one very special flesh circumcision

Luk_2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

When Jesus was 12 years old how is it He could converse with the priests? Because the only scriptures at that time was the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings, and because Jesus and the Father are one, Jesus was the author of the OT.

If Paul or anyone else teaches or preaches that the Torah is obsolete, then that person is not a follower of the true Messiah, but is following an "other Jesus". I strongly believe that Paul is just greatly misunderstood and that Satan is performing his great deception. The Torah carries "blessings and curses". Choose the right path and you are blessed. Choose the wrong way, and you will find that the deception is very strong delusions.

You were interested in their "words" and puffed up their ego, and they, subsequently treated you as inferior; presuming themself to be a teacher.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Deu 17:18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
Deu 17:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
Deu 17:20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

Rev_17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Rev_19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Zec_14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Zec_14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Deu 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
Deu 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
Deu 10:18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

"Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.
But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

Well, there ya go. Thats usually a good litmus test, if someone wants you to get circumcised in 2023, that means they got no idea about the book of Galatians and are INDEED judaizers.

1 Cor 7:19
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Galatians 5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

Galatians 6:15
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Galatians 5:2 Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.

This is such a clear issue in the New Testament that anyone preaching contrary to it has to go through IMMENSE scripture twisting to somehow make the NT teach this. Acts 15 there was a whole council on this topic.

Jesus was from the tribe of Judah. Paul was from the tribe of Benjamin. Both of these are The House of Judah. I am grafted in to the commonwealth of Israel. I call myself an Israelite/Torah observant. I was baptized into the faith of trusting Jesus as my Lord and Savior at age six. I have always loved Bible Study and enjoyed adult women Community Bible Study and then later Bible Study Fellowship. BSF is an International Ladies and children Bible Study. I had the privilege of working in the children's department with BSF. Calling someone "basically a Judaizer" could be positive or negative. Which corner do you stand in?

While the term "commonwealth of Israel" is found in the NT actually Christians are grafted into "the good olive tree" of believing Israel.

But the truth of the matter is that the majority of genuine Christians are not Jews but Gentiles. And after Paul revealed "the Mystery of the Church" we are to keep two things in focus: (1) the Church is the Body of Christ and all redeemed Jews and Gentiles until the Rapture are within that Body, and (2) more importantly God has abolished all ethnic distinctions within the Body of Christ. "There is neither Jew nor Greek" within the Church. Nor bond nor free. Nor male nor female. Christ is the Head and every child of God is a "member" of that Body.

Furthermore, since God has "abolished" the Old Covenant and all believers are under the New Covenant, any Christian claiming to be "Torah Observant" is (a) either ignorant of the distinction or (b) just fooling themselves.

To be strictly Torah Observant means to obey all the laws from Exodus to Deuteronomy, and since neither the tabernacle nor the temple exist any longer, and since the Levitical priesthood has been replaced by the priesthood of Melchizedek, not even unbelieving Jews can be strictly Torah Observant (which would also mean reverting to all the animal sacrifices).

Your definition of Strictly Torah Observant is very construed. Jesus was Torah Observant, but he was not a woman, a farmer, a Levite, and the instructions given for those specifics do not apply. Same is also true that whatever was done in the Temple has been temporarily halted. The most remarkable event in my life is to participate each Sabbath with other men and women of like-mind. We read a "Torah portion (Pentateuch)". The very same thing that Jesus told the audiences that they are to do what is in the Torah, but not to imitate the Pharisees and Saducees.

Mat 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

When one was sitting in Moses' Seat, no commentary was allowed. You cannot add or diminish from the words.

When Jesus went into the synagogue and stood up to read, He read from what is the haftara. The Haftarah is a selection from the Prophets read after the reading from the Torah on Sabbaths, festivals, and fast days.

Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Luk 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luk 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Luk 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Luk 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Where do you find the definition of a "Genuine Christian"?

Mat_19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
1Jn_5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn_5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Rev_12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev_14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

What is the greatest commandment?
Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Satan's greatest accomplishment was to cause the masses to believe that the God of the Old Testament is not the Lord of the New Testament. causing them to be deceived of this lie " That mean old God and His mean old laws are not for the "Christians". However, upon closer examination, the God of the Old Testament is Jesus our Lord and Savior.

Malachi_3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Jacob's name was changed to Israel. If the Christians are not Israel, then whose are you?

Jas_4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Isa_43:3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
Isa_43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Isa_45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
Isa_49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Isa_60:16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Hos_13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

Malachi_3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Jacob's name was changed to Israel. If the Christians are not Israel, then whose are you?

The WHOLE OBJECTION to the Old Testament LAW is the fourth commandment, because Satan knows if you keep just that one commandment your eyes would be open to know the LORD and He will know you.

Exo_31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
Eze_20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
Eze_20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Malachi_3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Jacob's name was changed to Israel. If the Christians are not Israel, then whose are you?

We can stand on each side of our boundaries, me quoting THE WORD and you insulting my Lord and Saviour. I doubt that you will read what I have written here and many other places, because it is a hard pill swallow that you have been duped by Satan the Great Deciever.

One last thing, get your scissors out and cut out the verses you think contradict your beliefs. And when you are done, put them back together and know the truth and the truth will set you free from this bondage of lawlesness/iniquity/sin.

1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

It just makes more sense to me to take the advice over weather to be circumcised and follow the law from the Apostles and disciples because the same issue came up back then? Well unless there's someone with more authority than these Apostles? https://biblehub.com/interlinear/acts/15.htm

@Grace911 The issue with this is that circumcision no longer works as a way to identify God's people. Because guess who is the largest circumcised group in the world? Yup, you guessed it, it would be MUSLIMS.
