I understand it as a parable told by the Lord. This servant that knew how severe the master was didn't even think to do the bare minimum and put the money in the bank to collect interest. I see the calling of his enemies over to be killed is illustrating the severity of this master and also showing what happens to those who reject him.

God is more loving than our minds can comprehend, but loosing sight of how severe the price of our sin is does not do us well. The price Jesus paid on that cross taking the full wrath of God that we deserve is SO much more severe than this verse sounds, but it's easy to loose sight of how wicked mans heart truly is when we are raised by the flesh in a world taught to value selfishness over everything else, the complete antithesis of the true purpose that we were created for. While our Master is perfect love without a doubt, He is also perfect justice as well.

It's an allusion to Israeli history....of a former Roman Governor of Israel (Archelius) who killed a LOT of Jews. So many in fact that the Caesar had to tell him to stop killing Jews because dead men don't pay taxes.

However, this also was one of the reasons why Mary and Joseph moved to Egypt for a few years...it wasn't just to avoid Herod but to also avoid Archelius's reign who would slaughter Jews for very insignificant reasons.

How do you come to teat conclusion - this is Jesus speaking -saying to those who didnt want him to be King that they should be brought in front of him and killed.

People do not ever talk about FEDERAL RESPONSILITY any more, FEDERAL HEADSHIP.

Folks are vaguely aware that we were once under the federal headship of Adam but are now put under the federal headship of Christ our Lord.

But there is much, much more to federal headship than this.

By federal headship God holds men and women to the highest account for the way they govern if they are in a place of power and authority. You see it all through the bible and very clearly in the gospels. It was religio/politico leaders who came against our Lord and His apostles. It's THEM always He is primarily addressing when He calls them vipers and hypocrites and warns of their coming punishment.

The crowds followed Him.

I am not saying they are the only ones who will carry the can, But their sin is the greater.

Because it was a retelling of what happened. It wasn't exactly new news. It was something that they ALL knew well. And it's a cautionary tale of what happens to you if you reject Jesus's sacrifice on the cross.

If you reject Jesus you will die. If you accept Jesus as your King you will live in paradise forever. What is difficult to understand?
Your next breath doesn't come by means of Jesus's acquiescence....it comes by His active support. That's what Omnipotence means. Jesus came to save....to provide forgiveness of sins. If you reject that there is no other game in town.

“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me.” (Luke 19:27)
It’s a parable about the final judgement.

Those that are killed in front of Him are THESE:

Revelation 14:10

New King James Version

10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

The audience Jesus was talking too understood because they were living it. We can understand today from history. Not hard to understand.
Seems kinda 'unright' to reduce the parables of our Lord to one liners.
Although i count them as blessings, Scriptures were not written in chapter and verse,

Luk 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
Luk 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Luk 19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
Luk 19:15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
Luk 19:16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
Luk 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
Luk 19:18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
Luk 19:19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
Luk 19:20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
Luk 19:21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
Luk 19:22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
Luk 19:23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
Luk 19:24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
Luk 19:25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
Luk 19:26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
Luk 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

.
Jesus was basically a peaceful man when he was here. He treated people's
sight but I don't think he ever blinded anybody, and he repaired withered
limbs but I don't think he ever crippled anybody, and he cured leprosy but I
don't think he ever struck anybody down with a terrible disease, and he
restored people's dead bodies to life but I don't think he ever killed anybody.
But the sweet little babe away in a manger didn't grow up to be a one-eyed Jack.
The other side of his face is very disturbing.

The Father has entrusted all judgment to His descendant (John 5:22) For
that reason, certain people really ought to be scared of Christ because he
intends to go about the business of judging no differently than the fire and
brimstone practices of the God of the Old Testament, by whom Jesus has
been groomed to take the reins.

John 5:19 . . I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he
can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father
does the Son also does.

John 10:30 . . I and my Father are unified.

Ps 2:7-12 . . I will proclaim The Lord's decree. He said to me: You are My
son; today I have become your Father. Ask of me, and I will make the
nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will rule
them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.

. . .Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve
The Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

how to understand Luke 19:27

“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me.” (Luke 19:27)

You are taking on line out of a Parable that Jesus is telling here and asking about understanding -----

My view
First you always need to post the Context of what the Scripture is about -----how can someone understand 1 short piece of Scripture without knowing what the context of the Scripture is about -----

This is a Parable that Jesus is telling -----the context is about Stewardship ---and the Millennial Kingdom ---the King who goes away for a time and then comes back ---the Second Coming of Christ ---- -the faithful Servants who obey their master and produce for their King -when He is away ----and the unfaithful Servant -who disobeys his King and produces nothing for their King out of Fear ---which comes from Satan not God -----so 2 servants are good Faithful Stewards and and the other Servant is an unfaithful Steward ------

Who is the King -----Jesus -----

Who are the Good Steward's ----All who follow ---believe in and trust in and obey their King to advance His kingdom

Who is the Bad Steward ----Here it refers to the Jewish Nation who rejected their King and refused to do do anything to advance His Kingdom ----instead this servant rejected his King and out of fear kept his portion hid and accused the King of taking out what He didn't put ------

Verse 27 now refers to all the Kings Enemies in the end who will be brought before Him and they will be killed -----experience the 2nd death right in from of Him -----as He is their Judge and they Refused to acknowledge Him before and after His return ----there will be no second chance in your end ----Refuse to acknowledge and accept the King upon His return and your headed for the gallows by Him ------

My intention was to understand in the light of Jesus being peaceful and us living by his grace love / peace - no law / sin this statement is far from that. I accept that I should have been much clearer and apologies for that. Doesn't allow me to amend.

It's not like we can have Jesus beating and whipping the money changers twice now can we?

Or him saying that He brought a sword instead of peace.

When we see Jesus Yeshua illustrated in words in the Book, Revelation, we understand His Sword is a two/edged sword emitting from His mouth.

Between men there cannot be peace. Since Cain and able men are ALWAYS going to have disagreements.

Jesus started one of the biggest Theological debates that is ongoing to this day and disagreements Between his followers as well. So much so that Judas betrayed him and Pharisees got him crucified. A Theological debate was at the heart of why they crucified Jesus.

So why is Jesus named the Prince of Peace?

Because for the first time man can have peace between themselves and God.

This was a parrable.. It was about the day of judgement when the LORD will divide the people.. Into the saved and the damned.. Those enemies where the people who rejected the Gospel and persecuted The followers of God.. The death is the second death.. The second death is being cast into the eternal lake of fire..

Jesus did not come to bring peace ===He came to divide with the Sword of His Word and bring in a New Gospel and Covenant -------Jesus was at Peace within Himself and showed that inner peace to us ------but He also showed Righteous Anger ------and Righteous Judgment toward the Pharisee's -----who were teachers of the Old Testament and Laws who added to God's Word and laws what they wanted and put in their own Traditions to suit their own Agenda ------

Judaism is a man made religion just like all other Religions ------

Judaism is antichrist . Scripture says....

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

2Jn 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me.” (Luke 19:27)
“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:27‬ ‭

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:41, 46‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“the Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:50-51‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”
‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We tend to want tonight ignore the warnings in Gods word because we have a view of him where he isn’t just he’s not going to make all the wrongs right evil people won’t have to pay for thoer deeds but in truth it’s one of two results

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is no third option life v death , salvation v damnation in the end we have to either accept or reject the word of God and we will be judged by it either way

This way is salvation

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:22, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or this way

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

dyong and not being saved is a heideous prospect and many of us don’t want to accept the truth. We want to imagine no one is lost and no one will be damned God would t really do what he’s warned us about

But God has one thing he can’t do that is lie , when he warns us of destruction and utter damnation suffering and anguish it’s all true he’s telling us because he loves us and wants us to hear him and believe and be saved the fear of God is missing on earth and people try to make Christianity the reason it’s missing but it’s not Jesus warned us many times over as did the apostles

“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

but unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

but glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:5-10‬

repentance is our call
