But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion 1 Corinthians 7:9 Paul taught that.

His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.” “Not everyone can accept this word,” He replied, “but only those to whom it has been given. Matthew 19:11 - 12 Jesus said so.

Why does the church find it so difficult to accept this? Why don't they talk about how to choose a spouse?
believers bear the fruit of the Spirit, and one of them is a little thing called self control.
don't leave that out of your thinking.

Jesus and Paul were very clear self control is a gift from GOD. Not everyone has it If you don't have it, get married.

Amen I love that! I know what you mean about realizing you can be happy without being married. I've had that realization too and it is indeed liberating.
Not everyone is happy being single. Jesus and Paul said being happy in the singles life is a gift from GOD.
I would pray. Last I heard all things are possible with God.
Women who don't like touch have often been abused. And dating is for finding things out. So date with purpose.
You seem to want to hedge your bets rather than walk by faith.
Also, how you do things is your business. I shared what I taught my kids.
Believe it or not, some people hide those fears, thinking the will get past them once they are married. Know this BEFORE you get married. I have prayed and begged GOD for almost 40 years.....I get silence.

Temperance is a fruit of the Spirit that should be found in all Christians.

One of the reasons for marriage is to have sex, yes. But ultimately it should help people stop craving sex; that's the real purpose of marriage. If you read 1 Corinthians 7, it's clear Paul is instructing the Corinthians to not care for the things of this world but for the Lord.

"But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none," 1 Corinthians 7:29
I've heard some married people say, "If you want to kill the sex drive, get married" LOL

From what Jesus and Paul have said, not when it comes to sex. Paul even set the sex drive as something special. Fornication is a sin against your body.

Sorry, I think your point flew over my head...
That's called a bird point. Ones that go under your feet are worm points. Don't worry...bird points are always looking for worm points, especially early.

I have done that and it has never worked. 40 years later and it still does not work.

I don't mean to seem unsympathetic to your estate. But it does work. There is a life with God hid in Christ wherein we can be so satisfied in God that allows God's people to live well in any circumstance.
Try reading and meditating on Psalm 23...when the Lord is truly to us a Shepherd, we will not want.
Believing it is possible is the first step to it becoming a reality.

Get a few new songs for your jukebox. The same ole song will just get the same results. Wish you the best but until you expand your field of vision, the view will never change.

You might consider you do not understand Jesus nor Paul's view because you have tunnel vision on this very personal, to you, matter.

You talk about marriage as a solution to stop or prevent fornication.
It doesn't appear as if marriage makes you happy or content. So maybe resist telling others what is right according to Paul and Jesus and work on yourself.

I agree with Cameron's perspective and advice and wish you all the best.

May God help you.
