Because I believe in the Republican Party, I trust anything that agrees with their ideology.

For example, I trust all the people working making my favorite guns And I trust all the gun lingo. I trust the competency of those people doing their jobs .
But I absolutely DO NOT trust doctors and doctor lingo And their competency in doing their jobs. They have no clue. Me, on the other hand, an internet user, know what they’re up to.

Here's what I meant...
Medical professionals use very particular language. They have to of necessity. For 1 doctor here to understand what another doctor on the other side of the world means, they need very specific terminology. In many instances it can mean the difference between life and death. All well and good.
But this also opens the door for unscrupulous people to take advantage of others. I believe most medical professionals to be honest, hardworking people who serve humanity. But there are clearly those in powerful positions who have used their power to harm humanity and were aided in doing so because they could speak over the heads of most people.

I believe that these types of topics are entertaining, like flat earthers and I believe that the internet has been the worst thing for humanity. I also believe that very few people in the world can look at things without bias and an open mind.
The internet has destroyed rationale.

The internet is neutral. It only reveals what is already existing.

It looks like the internet has gotten to you too and it’s strange because you (just like me) are old enough to remember a time before the internet.

Before the internet you had the village idiot. Everyone knew of the idiot and knew how to deal with him appropriately thus isolating the village idiot.
After the internet, the village idiot goes online, finds a community of other idiots and tries to infect the rest of us by presenting things in a manner so you can buy them.

America Season 12 will be interesting.

I do agree the internet, overall, has had a detrimental effect both on an individual psychological level and a societal level.

It affects the brain so it is not neutral.

Indeed. Because it’s a loud megaphone for any voice to say the craziest thing.
Before the internet you could never do this because the stupidity was localized and small, whereas now it’s pervasive.

I love the internet. It exposes me to things I would otherwise never be exposed to--both good and bad.
I do like you look forward to season 12 like yourself.

I was thinking more along the lines of reduced cognition, shortened attention span and memory issues, dopamine release and internet addiction.

But certainly it has reinforced crazy far flung ideas like a flat earth and this is one is good>>> sulphur bonds in the human genome, which spells the word JHVH in Hebrew (based on the number of chains between the bonds)?:eek:

Yes i agree with all those too. You can’t have any rational discussion anymore because most are radicalized by ideas on the internet which are sold in a ”presentable” manner by idiots who (for us older people) were topics of amazement, amusement or shocking back in the day.
But now because they’re presented online as “facts”, everyone is an expert at doing someone else’s job so you can’t have any rational discussions anymore about anything, including the Bible and wild interpretations which had little presentation and presence before the internet.

This is also why many crazy ideas, one of them being confused about your gender or teaching confusion gender theory on kids and all the crazy side effects, are so popular and mainstream now.
The internet enabled all that.
All of that, and everything in between.

Absolutely agree, the internet has certainly played its part in radicalizing people.

There are too many influencers who should not be given that status, they profit from their new found status spreading lies and misinformation.

On the positive side there are other views and voices which need to be given a platform because of the corruption of the mainstream media. If not for the internet there is a lot we would not know because of constant cover ups.

Choose wisely to whom you lend an ear.

As someone once stated "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing."

If God moves, it will be the same internet that furnishes the gospel into every home around the world. In most places in this nation, there are churches on every corner, with plenty of room for growth. And it only takes a spark to begin any conflagration.
It's easy in our day and time to become pessimistic. But the gospel resounds with hope.
