I'm not sure if any of these verses that are connected to Revelation 12 has been shared here before. It's new to me, so if you want to add verse's you think might go with it please do.

Revelation 12:1
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.

This goes back to what I was saying that the Sun,Moon,Earth, were created in the image of God.The woman clothed with the Sun signifies that she is filled with the Spirit. The Moon under her feet has to do with repentance.
Here's the the verses connected to Rev 12:1.

Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Genesis 37:9-10
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

Revelation 3:9
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

If you repented then you'll walk on water like the woman in Revelation 12:1,and be clothed with the Sun.That's why I connected Genesis 3:15 to Rev 12:1.All who are not of the Spirit,Water, and the Blood, are in the image of the serpent. They must be born again.

This sign has already appeared in the heavens to the exact detail and when this verse or description is used if you notice it is used more than a few times in scripture and the represention is is used in the same way too.

The sun is always seen as male and representing the son of God the moon femenine the bride the church who like the moon in reality reflect the sun lighting up the darkness of night the stars representing spiritual messages or spiritual beings sometimes even called angels or messengers.

The earth being the world that looks up to the heavens and the sun the moon the stars all for the earths benefit

This isn't a one dimensional thing it plays out in the same way how you can't look at God one dimensional either.

We think of maybe one or a few aspects or traits of him at a time we see through one dimension of him that way but there is so much more to him and he works in ways that don't make sense until you look at him in all his dimensions all his aspects only then does something like this add up.

If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

Each is entitled to their own opinion, but this is all it is; you opinion. Scripture does not support the sun, moon, or earth being created in Gods image IMO. The ONLY time Scripture supports such is when God said "let US create MAN in OUR image." Right?

What is this "image?" Well, God is a Triune God, and man is a Triune being......... The Apostle Paul taught this when he spoke of the body, soul and spirit of man.

I would caution "adding to" Scripture......

It could be Jesus was born 12 days befor christmas 🙂
It could even be a spiritual Goddess in heaven or a female angel.

Or even Mary.

But I remember once somebody said angels are only male. A long time ago now.

But my kid thought different when she place a fairy God mother on top of the Christmas tree.
She said no angels are female.

Then I realised if all angels are male there must be account for the billions of angels in heaven then.

Then when I researched i discovered angels where stars to.

Then when I looked into it further, i discovered there where pink stars to and magenta stars.

Which is a popular colour for females

I then discovered stars give birth to stars, imagine that.

I also discovered God likes a good marriage made in heaven

I wondered alot about that once 🙂

I've also discovered people have stars in there eyes and see stars floating around there head,

But I'm more inclined to believe the eyes are a gateway to the soul,

And the angel is a tiny little mustard seed in the middle of a mind that can shine like a star.

I have a friend who's eyes changed colour quite frequently.

i call her robin 🙂

Revelation 12:1
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
The simplest interpretation of this "woman" in the context of this chapter is that she represents believing Israel, which will consist of people from all twelve tribes (represented by the stars). The "man child" is Christ Himself. During the reign of the Antichrist the believing remnant of Israel will be persecuted by Satan, and will therefore find refuge in the wilderness. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

The references to 1,260 days and time, times, and half a time (v 14) are related to the 3 1/2 year reign of the Antichrist.

you already did but yeah Joseph is one of Israel’s ( Jacobs) sons he had a dream

“And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭37:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The sun is Jacob , the moon is Rachel , and the eleven stars are his ( Jospeh’s ) eleven brothers

Paddy and Seamus were walking home from the pub. Paddy says to Seamus,
'What a beautiful night, look at the moon.'

Seamus stops and looks at Paddy, 'You are wrong, that's
not the moon, that's
the sun.'
Both started arguing for a while when they come upon a real drunk walking in the other direction, so they stopped him.

Sir,
could you please help settle our argument?

Tell us what that thing is up in the sky that's
shining. Is it the moon or the sun?' The drunk looked at the sky and then looked at them, and said,

'Sorry, I don't live around here.

I will try to see if I can find it really the study I learned this from was actually from a rabbi this is a hebrew kind of thing in the sense that this is the reason there is so much importance on the heavenly bodies to them think of the star of Bethlehem or how the sun turning dark is what made that soldier say surely this was the son of God or the revelation 12 sign

[QUOTE="Blain,
Re: Rev 12:1.

This had practical value for those who knew astronomy since scripture tells us that the celestial bodies (stars, moon, planets, etc.) were to be in part for signs and "seasons" (appointed times) (Gen 1:14). However, they were not to be worshipped or used for personal divination by the COI as the pagans did. Instead, they expressed a divine message for those who read them properly. This is how the "wise men" (astrologers) were able to locate Jesus. They got it right. There was a moment when the constellations aligned to give what John wrote in 12:1.

Thanks Lifted_By_the_Word for your comments. Rev 12:1 is one of my favorite scriptures. I see the sun as being a picture of Christ. We read about that in Psalm 19: "In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race." Jesus is the bridegroom in the Bible and the sun, being the light of the world, is a good picture of him. The woman is clothed with the sun in Rev 12:1, and so, she is a picture of the true believers. The true believers are clothed with Christ, because their own righteousness would not clothe them. We read:"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." So, the sun is a picture of Christ, the woman clothed with the sun is a picture of the true believers, and the moon is left. The moon is a picture of the law of God, of his ordinances. We read about the moon in Jeremiah 31: "
Thus says the LORD,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night," However, if the moon is a picture of God's ordinances, the law of God, why is the moon under the true believers' feet in Rev 12. In my opinion, this is because the true believers have gotten victory of the penalty of the law. The wages of sin is death, says the law, but despite this, the woman has gotten victory over death. So, the law is under her feet, so to speak.
Additionally, we might spend two seconds on why the true believers are pictured as a woman. First of all, the true believers are betrothed to Christ. He is the bridegroom and we are the bride. Secondly, the true believers are part of the Jerusalem that is above. We are told in Galatians that she is our mother.

Been a long time since I read it but one of Apostle John's disciples said this story is about the church in the tribulation. The 12 stars are the 12 apostles and the woman was the church. Fleeing to the wildnerness is Israel fleeing from the kingdom of the antichrist.

The first wonder was talking about the fulfillment of Joseph's dream and the birth of the nation of Israel.
The second wonder is the birth of Christ, His death, resurrection and victory. This gives rise to the church and its persecution by Satan. Much of this language is consistent with Daniel.
