Based on how another thread on this subject turned recently, I'm just going to warn ahead of time that if the discussion doesn't remain civil and polite, I'll be forced to take appropriate action.

Yes, as the admin of the forum mentioned, there are like 2 or 3 other threads about this series already.
The general consensus is that most people like it and some others don't.
So, that's it.

I've watched a couple of clips of it on youtube. That's all I've seen. I really like the one with the Samaritan woman at the well.

The Chosen has become a wonderful witnessing outreach vehicle causing many to reassess their beliefs
around religion in general, Christianity in particular, and most importantly, Who Jesus Christ is.

I've watched several videos about the controversies surrounding the show.
But I haven't actually watched any episodes yet.

I watched the first few but it didnt really keep my interest I dont know just something off or seemed a bit hokey to me..so didnt continue.
But others love and rave about it so ??

I think maybe its cos I read the book first and no movie ever lives up to the book version lol

The Chosen is so important!

Popularity is the best litmus test, this is all a faithful Christian requires when a show portrays the authentic Jesus.
Remember as stated in The Chosen, "love is love."

I would suggest watching anything with discernment. Dallas Jenkins did consult with members of the LDS with regards to this series. Mormonism does have a stark contrast with Biblical Christianity.

Agree, one has to trust in, believe in the "real" Jesus revealed in scripture not the Hollywood "love is love" version or the Mormon version.

Wasn't Dallas Jenkins the one involved with the Left Behind series as well? The name seems familiar...

Where was it filmed. If it was in Utah then theres probably a Mormon connection. Utah being a substitute for the Middle East! lol

Jerry B Jenkins, co-author of Left Behind series, also novelised the Chosen. Its now a book series.

He's Dallas Jenkins dad. OK there you go.

Actually I didnt read this series. I read the REAL book the movie was supposedly based on - the Holy Bible.

The Book of Mormon is also apparently a musical, but I havent seen or read that book. I dont plan to, but people say its hilarious.

I saw the first two seasons and enjoyed them. I haven't seen the rest though. I'm not sure how many seasons there are. It did concern me that they added things into the story that we are not sure are true. So if you continue watching it, I would just make sure to compare it to what the Bible really says. :)

I plan to see it.

Saw Mission Impossible last weekend, which was really good. I may have to check out a few more of those.

There's a lot of fans of The Chosen at my church and a Rabbi goes through some of the scenes on TBN. It takes a close-up and personal look at some of the daily challenges the Disciples did face. I know the Bible well enough to recognize false teaching and one scene bothered me but not others on the comment lines. There are amazingly anointed scenes that bring people to tears. People all over the world are meeting what Jesus did for them.

Agree with discernment on everything. I read The Chosen is using a set of Israel, and in return the producer "BYUtv was granted streaming and broadcast rights in late 2020, the only broadcast network airing the show at the time." Is any relevant connection besides that? I mean, specifically.
