- "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"...

Bottomline - there is no easy answer in those scenarios... as often times - in these cases there is No Answer that will suffice her line of inquiry... maybe the best thing to do is to speak in circular-truths in a manner that avoids the inadvertent use of hurtful words...

ie, the answer to the infamous question: "Do these pants make me look Fat?"
The circular-truthful answer is: "My Love - in my eyes you are beautiful in everything and nothing at all"
