1.
Ask a moderator to move the thread to BDF.

2.
Just start another thread in BDF.

3.
Just use the OTHER thread you already started in this forum, and ask a moderator to move that one to BDF.

It is a common complaint. Sometimes I'm too oblique for my own good, much less the good of those around me.

KJV has a few rather glaring errors of its own. One of the most notorious is Genesis 49:6. I notice you never did mention that in your list.

KJV has a few rather glaring errors of its own. One of the most notorious is Genesis 49:6. I notice you never did mention that in your list.

What the detracted translation says is about 50% different than what the Traditional Text says.

Pretty good information! The three codex's before the 4th century are primarily the Vaticanus manuscripts; Sinaiticus manuscripts; Alaxendrinus manuscripts. But rarely is the Alaxendrinus used because its much worse that the other two, esp. in the Gospels. The cpies from the 5th century and later involved the Majority Text, because it is the only source that has thousands of copies.

These three were attributed as unusable by early scribes and so were not used, thus they didn't share the same fate as the Majority copies faced of wearing out. When a copy became near to illegible the copier would copy it, then destroy the exemplar to avoid it being misused.

The reason why people trust KJV only is because they are unaware of other translations that come from the same source as the KJV, like the Webster Translation, Young's Literal Translation and about 6 other translations. None of the modern translations derived from the Minority Text contains the entire Word, in fact they come up very short in Scripture because of the omissions.

You can check 1 passage to determine from what source it came. If 1Jn 5:7 is omitted it's from the Minority Text (which has only 3 manuscripts, compared to thousands in the Majority Text), which is the briefed Text, missing much Scripture. The KJV translators were brilliant to employ italicization to let the reader know that it wasn't in the manuscript, but they add words to make the reading correct; and it lets us realize that they were not adding to the Word.

A good example of italicization is that 2Sam 21:19 passage. the phrase "the brother of" wasn't in the manuscript so they italicized it, to concur with the reiteration in 2Chron 20:5, which has no italics. If we look at 1Jn 5:7 it isn't in italics because the KJV translators saw enough manuscript evidence to include it.
