Maybe I'm not understanding your question.
Lot believed in and worshipped God in a community that was extremely sinful. The ONLY reason he was saved was because of his relationship with Abraham (even if it was a somewhat contentious relationship) Abraham interceded on his behalf to God....otherwise he would have been caught up with the rest of them in the rain of fire.
As it was Lot lost his wife and ended up sleeping with his daughters....which produced sons that lived in animosity with Israel.

Lot's legacy (because of his choices) has never been a positive....ever. He should have never quarreled with Abraham, never lived near or in Sodom, and never taken in by the "lust of the eyes" of the well watered plain. Yes, ultimately he was saved....but desperately poor in every way that mattered.

To "say" one is saved means nothing. Anyone with a mouth on the front of their head can do that.
But if someone IS saved, they're saved for eternity whether they give in to worldly lusts or not.
What kind of worldly lusts are you referring to? Because the Bible teaches that we cannot partake of worldly lusts and still inherit eternal life. We are to be pilgrims and strangers in this world. Consistent praying, fastings and feeding on the Word of God are the key spiritual exercises to walk with the Master, Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2
[11] Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
[12] Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

This isn't about me, or anyone else, but the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, why is it that you ask me, "I'm curious, please tell me. Do you still sin?"
Because of what you said earlier:

So, yes I am walking free of worldliness. Praise Jesus! He gets all the glory, for without Him we can do nothing.
If you're walking free of worldliness, it stands to reason you no longer sin. If you do sin, then you're clearly not walking in freedom from worldliness. If you're not perfect, where do you get off lecturing the rest of us as if you are perfect. So it is about you. Get your own house in order then maybe you'll be able to help others get their house in order.

You can say whatever you want about me because my testimony is with Jesus, not people. What you're doing, however, is often a tactic to deflect from the truth of Scripture, attack the messenger to deflect the message. However, the message of the truth of Scripture stands, whether people adhere to it or not. God bless you!

John 15:17 This is My command to you: Love one another.

18 If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.
19 If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world...

21 But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.
23 Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well...

26 When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me.
27 And you also must testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

"If I had not come and spoken (to the world), they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin....
there are no exceptions, no 'innocent' sin.

If you loved Him, or His Father, you would place sin under Him, and never place Him under sin.

No, I'm not deflecting from your message; both you and your message are flawed. You're preaching that believers should walk 100% free from the world or they're not really saved. But even you yourself don't walk 100% free from the world. Your message is unBiblical and you're a hypocrite.

But I do indeed walk free from worldly lusts. The Lord is my witness. I lost sight of this old world years ago. Again, your attacks are meritless. Instead of focusing on what the Scriptures are teaching, you attack me.

Actually the strife was between their herdmen. It was Abram's idea to separate. The separation seems to have been cordial. Lot agreed with the proposed peaceful solution. There was nothing wrong with choosing a well watered plain - that, in itself, was a good business choice. The text doesn't say that Lot even knew Sodom was wicked at that point.

Later, Lot persistently insisted that the two angels stay in his house instead of in the street. He gave their well being priority over his two virgin daughters. If they had gotten raped by the men of Sodom, they would have preserved the seed of their father without involving him in it. It was their idea to have sex with him - he knew nothing about it. This righteous man even tried to rescue his sons in law and his married daughters, after the ruckus at his door.

Lot was "righteous" while still living in Sodom before its destruction. His eternal salvation was never in jeopardy. The "community" was never a threat to that.
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds) 2 Peter 2:7-8 (KJV)

Don't be too hard on the ol' chap. His wifey-poo, on the other hand ... he might have been a bit hen-pecked. She didn't seem to want to leave.
I've been in situations where my soul is quite vexed by the people I have to be around. Sometimes I feel pretty trapped there and don't know how to get out of it. My temporal choices aren't always squeaky clean either, as much as I want them to be.

Eternal life is the free gift of God, paid in full by Jesus on the cross. It's God's preservation of the saved that keeps the saved saved.

Salvation is a gift; but like any gift, it can be lost through negligence. If you were given a free car, but neglected it by leaving the doors unlocked then the thief would come along and steal your free gift. This is much like Satan coming along and stealing your free gift of Salvation. Peter illustrates this point in what we should do to make our calling and election sure.

2 Peter 1
[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
[6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
[7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
[8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[9] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
[10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
[11] For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Salvation is given at the point of a true born again experience. This precious gift then must be nurtured; failure to do so would be willful sin, and Salvation forfeited through negligence.
The only way salvation can be lost, is if we had to earn it, and didn't do a good enough job! That is a works gospel. We are not saved by our own works, nor do our works lose our salvation. And thank goodness! I can totally rely on Christ's death on the cross and taking my punishment. And proving the power of God by being raised from the dead. I could never rely on myself, until God called me, and gave me the Holy Spirit & saved me!

If you read a contemporary Bible, instead of a 400 year old one written in a language we no longer speak, I always find it is an invitation to misinterpretation and even heresy. Although there are a few people in this forum who use a KJV Bible, and there is nothing wrong with their theology! But you are not one of those people.

Before Christ saved me, the Bible says I was a dead person. Dead people don't make decisions. Especially not salvic decisions. Dead people are just dead! That is what Ephesians says!

"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this worldand of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient." Eph 2:1-2

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus," Eph 2:4-5

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph 3:8-10

Notice when the works are mentioned! At the end. Works are things like doing good, helping the poor, seeking God, evangelism & so forth. But works are also the battle to not sin! But, as was quoted,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

Yes, we do sin. But, as saved people, if we are walking with Christ & obeying his word, God promises he will forgive us our sin and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness!

I don't know about the OP, but as a saved person, saved by grace, I am also a new creature in Christ.

"So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away —look, what is new has come!" 2 Cor. 5:17

Do you think every time someone sins, even willfully, God kills them spiritually? Because that is what you are saying, if you can lose your salvation! I doubt God is constantly killing that new creation within us, erasing our names from the Lamb's Book of Life, and casting us out! Then re-saving us? Then, if we repent, he re-writes our names Lamb's book?

"Everyone that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of everything that He has given Me I will lose nothing, but will raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:37-40

God promises he will not cast us out! And we will be raised up on the last day!

"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—" Eph 1:4-5

That's right, we were chosen before the creation/foundation of the world. He didn't just choose us, he predestined us!!

As for those who stop walking with Christ, and live in the world, revelling in sin and unrighteousness!! We're they really ever new creations? Did God really revive their spirit? John doesn't think so!

"They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be evident that they all are not of us. 1 John 2:19

Those blatant sinners never really were saved! Maybe they just jumped on the bandwagon because it was popular, or a fad. Or maybe it sounded good, but they never really knew Christ, even though they tried to follow the rules. Maybe they were raised in the church, knew all the lingo, but didn't know Jesus!

Please take your fear mongering and false doctrines away from this forum. Now, I realize Arminians do believe in decisions regeneration. That's an accepted theological view in soteriology. But even an Arminian is responding to the gospel, and being drawn by the Holy Spirit. God is not going to lose one of his children, now or ever.

A Carnal Christian is one who has received Jesus and has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are who are Heaven bound as their Spirit is Holy and is able to enter Heaven ------it is the Soul ----fleshy thinking that needs to be change from the world's way of thinking to God's way of thinking ---and that is done by maturing in our walk with Christ ------your Soul has to catch up with your Spirit which is Holy and worthy of being with God in His Kingdom -----and that is our job to mature in changing the mindset but it doesn't happen overnight and it takes work ---time and practice to master laying down worldly thinking--it is a process and one has to want to mature in their walk with Christ -----many say I saved and that is good enough -----

There should be some change in our way of thinking right away ----but our old way of thinking like the world if not worked on right away can drag us back to desertion of the faith -----or backsliding -----so staying in the Carnal state is dangerous ------ Satan is always after your Faith and can steal it very quickly if it is on rocky soil -------

Corinthians 3 ABCE

3 However, brethren, I could not talk to you as to spiritual [men], but as to nonspiritual [men of the flesh, in whom the carnal nature predominates], as to mere infants [in the new life] in Christ [[a]unable to talk yet!]

2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not yet strong enough [to be ready for it]; but even yet you are not strong enough [to be ready for it],

Your Statement here -------
Do you have one foot in the world and one in Christianity?

I say ----James 1 :8 ---calls this a double minded man and they are unstable in all their ways -------

A Carnal Christian will always have one foot in this world and one foot in God's World ----till they start maturing in their walk and knowledge of Christ ---we are to mature to the Spiritual man who totally depends on the Holy Spirit in their daily lives and none of us will ever reach that in our lifetime ------the worlds way of thinking will always creep into our lives as Satan is loose and has access to us all through our thought life -------

Scripture gives you the 3 Types of Man in scripture -----Natural man is all ego driven ---Carnal man is a double minded man unstable trying straddle the fence of this world and God's world ---and Spiritual man relies on the Holy Spirit to guide them in all their ways ---

View attachment 253727

Your comment here ------
A lot of Christians struggle with sin because they never leave the world behind.

Not one of us will ever leave this world behind when we are living in it ---we will at times sin --but we have God's Grace to call on to help us stay out of sin as best we can -------until Satan is dealt with we will struggle with our ego ----our worldly desires ---our worldly emotions ------etc -----Jesus knows that we will always struggle with our worldly ways as He lived in this world himself and knows how hard it is to change the ways of our human fleshly thinking -------

God tells us what we must do to change our stinking Thinking -------but it is not that easy and takes much practice and stamina to stay the course as Satan will bombard your mind with doubts --fears --anxiety ----unbelief ---etc etc -----Satan still has access to all Christians ----beware of Strongholds of the MIND -----

2 Corinthians 10:5

Jesus showed us just how easy it is to commit sin ------the mind and the eyes can quickly get us in big trouble ----to sin -----

Well said (y)

Are you of the World? Do you have one foot in the world and one in Christianity? If so, the love of the Father is not in you — and you cannot get to Heaven that way. A lot of Christians struggle with sin because they never leave the world behind. You must be separated unto the gospel of Jesus Christ to inherit eternal life. We are in this world, but not of this world. Sure, we have to work and handle the affairs of this life, but are you wrapped up in the cares of this life?

1 John 2
[15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
[17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. — (KJV)
i've read this Thread before deciding to post.
past 15 years, i went through a real "Job (Bible) Trial." Couple years ago, it seemed to have ended. but about 5 years before it ended, i began feeling like i am a Visitor. i had a home, things i owned, but just feel like i am at a motel and will be checking out one day. and even after the Job trial ended, that feeling of being a Visitor sank in deeper. it's a haunting feeling, because, you're around hundreds of people and none of them are connected to you in any sense other than being human beings. it's a 24/7/365/endless feeling of like being a traveler and just passing by.

but, it's alarming. why did it take this long to feel this way, and do i feel this way because Time is short and much is to be done? so, it's awakened a sense of alerting others about needing God.

but i most definitely feel disconnected to this world.
in fact, when i watch news and see and given other information, it doesn't phase me to be concerned for my well being. i just have a sense this is what i have read in Revelation and i am part of that Generation from Matthew 24.

Your now ex wife being a warning to all mankind isn't exactly a marker of you having sound judgements of picking life partners. Then again the kids from sleeping with his daughters is another marker of bad choices from too much wine.
You're describing sinners. That's all of us, unsaved sinners & saved sinners.
I see no occasion in the biblical account to blame him for his wife's choices.

"Saved sinners" is a man-made theory. The Scriptures teach that we are either Saints or sinners. The former group inherits the Kingdom of God, the latter does not.

Either/or is the man-made popular propaganda. As a "theory", it fails the test of Scripture:

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Tim 1:15 (KJV)
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:24-25 (KJV)
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. Eccl 7:20 (KJV)
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 (KJV)

Dear friend,

Thank you for your inquiry. As the Pastor of https://BibleHeaven.org, I understand the importance of addressing the balance between living in the world and remaining committed to our faith in Jesus Christ.

It is true that as Christians, we are called to be in the world but not of the world. This means that while we live in this world and engage in our daily responsibilities, we must keep our hearts and minds rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is essential to be conscious of how the cares of this life can distract us from our spiritual journey.

Struggling with sin is a common challenge faced by many believers, and it often arises from not fully separating ourselves unto the gospel of Christ. To inherit eternal life, we must continually seek a deeper relationship with God and surrender ourselves to His will.

At https://BibleHeaven.org, we encourage our congregation to be intentional about maintaining a strong connection with God through prayer, studying the Scriptures, and engaging in acts of love and service. By setting our hearts on things above and dedicating ourselves to the gospel, we can find the strength to overcome worldly temptations and grow in our faith.

Let us strive to be fully committed to Jesus Christ, allowing His love and grace to guide us in all aspects of life. By embracing the teachings of the gospel and seeking to live according to God's will, we can experience the transformation that leads to eternal life in His presence.

Blessings,

Pastor Harry, https://BibleHeaven.org
