I was born with faith, which is God's gift of morality and its conscience. That mustard seed turned into the tree only through never forsaking God's voice from within, conscience. The few times in my life that it warned me don't do this, I stopped.

The question you probably are more curious about is "How did the Holy Spirit enter your heart?"

In the early 1990s I was almost addicted to born again online chatrooms. A stranger had given me a red letter NIV bible. That bible would open for me. At the time I was working very long days which left little time for reading. I started by reading JOB. Then over a span of serveral months, I casually read and reread (not in any specific order) the red letter sections, which turned out to be the four gospels. During that time I would visit chatrooms and speak from my heart. It began apparent that the words from my heart were in accordance with the gospels but contradicting scripture postings from the other books of the new testament.

One Tuesday during that time a stranger had sent me an testimonial email. Basically he testified that he used to be Catholic, then became Christian, and then proclaimed to me that he was now an atheist. He said that after reading the scripture with Peter pointing out to Jesus that the tree which Jesus cursed yesterday is now dead and withered, he could not be a member of any religion that curses and kills an innocent tree. Without even thinking I immediately responded: "May God have mercy on your soul."

I then immediately went to the bathroom (my then reading room) with my bible. It opened to the heading, TEACHINGS FOR TUESDAY.
I thought: "cool its Tuesday" so that's where I read. It turned out to be the exact scripture from the atheist's testimonial. When I read Jesus' response, "Have faith in God" That is the exact moment the Holy Spirit entered my heart.

Approximately five years later, one of my long time customers told me that he noticed a change in me and asked me for my bible. At that time I already owned over a dozen different bibles in several translations. When I tried to give him one of those he said: No, I want that one. He wanted the bible that was opening for me, the one I was reading when I received the Holy Spirit and I didn't want to give it to him. But, then I shook my head and thought what am I doing, the bible is not my idol. I said here take this, God bless you, and gave him my favorite bible. That's the first time that the Holy Spirit's presence in my heart grew even stronger.
No one is born with faith. Scripture says the opposite.

If we are ever in contradiction to scriptures then it us who needs to reevaluate our interpretation.

What do you mean by the book was opening to me?

How can one teach anything about that which he does not know
You have chosen your teachers and repeat their empty teachings
No one can serve two masters, the bible is an idol of all who turn toward it instead of listening within
if one's soul is immoral, one questions what is truth.
This is the crossroad where you chose your final destiny
no one condemned you, did you not choose freely
the bible is an idol of all who turn toward it instead of listening within
This is heresy to say the least.

Hi and welcome to CC and you may want to check out the guidelines at the bottom of the page under 'terms of service'. Coming on controversial about Biblical understanding usually gets one banned. It is what it is and fyi Eph 2:8 '8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God '. God bless & keep you🙏!

I couldn't get past your first statement. No one is born with faith. Ephesians 2:1-3 and Romans 3:10 and following reveal your initial estate. Further, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
I truly hope you will consider prayerfully what I have shared. What you believe may seem correct to you but...there is a way that seems right to a man but its end is destruction.
Did your lord not teach the lord's prayer? Does God not know what each needs even before they ask?
His sweetest words are now cacophany in your ears.

Did he not tell you to keep watch with your light trim
then why now is no light found in you

This was your final crossroad
Did you not freely choose to continue on your way? No one condemned you.
You chose your path freely,

I KNOW the path you are on is a dead end, I offered you another way and today you rejected me
What you believe may seem correct to you but...there is a another way that leads directly into our father's eternal kingdom.

There is absolutely no value in a blind man's definition of light
Neither is there any value in ANY of Paul's definitions or teachings

I know whom I believed and He is able to keep that which I have committed.
You have shown a way contrary to the word of God. Self enlightenment and self endeavor will never lead us to the knowledge of God in a saving way. While the natural man can know God in the sense that He is the Creator and providentially attends to His creation, there must be a spiritual birth to enter into intimate relationship to God. The first estate is enough to make us accountable before God, but not sufficient to provide eternal life. This God Himself must impart.
I implore you again to prayerfully consider the things I have shared.

Are you sure you aren’t getting confused? None have ever claimed being born as you claim you are.maybe you experienced the “law” being written into your heart by nature which is the Bible’s language for what the unbelieving know as human conscious.or our natural given ability to know right from wrong so maybe you are a very moral person to try to obey those laws you naturally have written in your heart but I cannot say that you had salvation at birth. Only Jesus had that. I’m sorry but I believe you to be misguided at the moment.

What do you mean by the book was opening to me?
I was absolutely born with a mustard seed of faith as were you.
Faith is that divine gentle inner tug that helps stop one from committing a sin.
One loses Faith the moment one ignores its restraint by deciding to commit the sin by choice
This world is rife with faithless evil souls pretending morality
The bible is rife with contradiction, have you ever heard of the concept lost in translation.
Look at how cliche the bible actually is with selfish fools telling you how it is supposed to be interpreted.
Did God not give you a brain and a heart? Use them! Let your heart guide you and have faith.
Don't be surprised if your heart leads you back to the gospels and then opens your eyes.

My bible opening for me,
I would place my bible on the desk or in my lap and use the pads of my fingers on the pages and pull up, where ever it opened I'd stop wherever my eye landed I'd read. Every scripture I read had some kind of connection to something I was thinking about or an occurrence of that day. The day I received the Holy Spirit confirmed my hunch.

Book opening as you describe is an ancient occultic practice for divination.

Bibliomancy- is the use of books in divination.
  1. A book is picked that is believed to hold truth.
  2. It is balanced on its spine and allowed to fall open.
  3. A passage is picked, with the eyes closed.

What in the world? You condemn him? What did he do.
Look again, why do you say I condemned him?
Did he not choose his own path? I am telling you truthfully that he has chosen his own destiny despite being unable to see it is a dead end. Do you still think his fate is my doing in any way? It absolutely is not, I am innocent. Jesus forewarned most people that they would not believe him but that they would believe the words of another who came after him. This was a forewarning of Paul's false Teachings

So I have to ask , why are you here on a site dominated by those who agree with the teachings of Paul? Why not find your own circle who believe as you do? Are you here to teach us how over2,000 years of Christianity has had it wrong all this whole time and you alone have the unwavering truth in your mind and heart against the wisest Saints down through the ages? You have to admit it sounds a bit off.

Here's a new word i have now coined just for you, bibleromancy the idolatry of lost blind souls unable to discern truth or recognize the Holy Spirit which reveals the actual meaning of John 5:39-40

But now that I come to think of it. It’s no accident you landed here. Perhaps this was a moment ordained by God for you to see your error and turn from it and accept correction. But will you take heed or continue on misguided?

Saul was changed to Paul and met the Lord on the Damascus Road, soooo how could he not know the truth. Remember what he went to prison for and who released him from prison?
The Holy Spirit is not guiding your statements here as they are off track. If you're able to, ask God for forgiveness and get some Bible commentaries on Scripture.

I disagree with much of what you say, but I also disagree with much of what has been said to you.

I welcome you to CC and hope you keep posting. I pray CC never becomes so narrow as to reject those who present alternative views. Only when we are challenged can our faith grow; if we only hear agreement our ears become dull.

Jesus tole us to search the Scriptures John 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. "

So it seems that if He said to search, and someone else says not to, then I would think that someone who relys on self and doesn't search is not doing His will.
