Hey Everyone,

Welcome to Part 3 of our Singles Forum Mighty Mingle! We have a lot of married friends here, so EVERYONE is welcome to join this thread!!!

My goal in making this a series (like a favorite TV show) instead of stand-alone threads is that I'm hoping to build community. I don't want people to spend their precious time answering these questions and are then forgotten. I'm hoping we'll learn and remember some fun facts about people, and will keep picking up new friends along the way! If you haven't answered any of the other threads, feel free to join in at any time. :)

I hope no one is offended if they aren't mentioned in the following list. These threads take A LOT of time and I'm just pulling from notes I took while rereading the first thread. If you're not listed here but would like to be in a future thread, or if you DON'T want to be listed in future opening posts like this, leave me a note on my profile page (click "Profile Posts") so I know better how to direct the fun! :)

And now, as just a brief recap of some things we've learned about some new friends:

* @Lynx loves good stories and hot chocolate.
* @Talljake likes fishing and French vanilla coffee on a cold day.
* @Magenta makes beautiful Scripture art panels and leisurely walks.
* @seekingthemindofChrist likes walks and fossils.
* @Gojira, aka, Keithiepoo, loves burning down large cities, boops on the nose, stargazing, and just about everything else. I don't think you can go wrong when trying to find something in common with him! :)
* @Timofree likes hikes, karaoke, and "unusual" hot drinks. I'm interested in what those might be, aren't you?
* @WMarkB trembles at the mention of "shipping" due to his work.
* @tourist is one of our staple members here and we're glad he's stuck around.
* @Tinkerbell, aka, Darling Sweetheart, like surfing -- AND cold mountains!
* @Lanolin prefers tea and has worked in a fish and chips shop.
* @melita916 like flowers, pizza, and music.
* @Pipp enjoys photography, baking, iced white mochas, and mutually encouraging one another. :)

Now that we've broken the ice a bit...

Let's try a new set of questions based on some answers in past threads, including the fact that in the "Guilty Pleasures" thread, some people listed large ice cream sundaes as their choice -- but a few people claimed they would NOT share with anyone else!! o_O Hmm. Me thinks we need a way to weed out who the greedy ones in the group are going to be. :D

And so, here are today's Mighty Mingle Questions:

1. Many people mentioned their love of animals and nature. If we planned a group activity, would you be interested in going to a cat cafe? How about an animal shelter, zoo, or aquarium? Tell us what you'd prefer and why!

2. Name one thing you WOULD NOT SHARE, just for fun! (OF COURSE we know as Christians that we SHOULD share. But go back to your 5-year-old self and tell us about that toy, food, or special something you just wouldn't share with anyone!)

3. Name one thing you happily WOULD share, and why. This can be serious or just for fun (for example, I'd gladly offer to share the brussel sprouts my Mom put on my plate yesterday when I visited them -- because everyone knows brussel sprouts are of the devil!)

Feel free to share stories of sharing and greediness from the past.

Looking forward to learning more. :)

And again, even if you haven't answered any of the other threads, feel free to join in! :)

1. Cat cafe. You can't pet fish in an aquarium and they are lousy at purring.

2. I would try to not share a cold. Some things you don't want to share. If I had a cold I would just not go.

3. Honestly I would share anything I thought was enjoyable. Watching somebody else enjoy it doubles the enjoyment.

Heh.

I said coffee ☕ because we recounted several people's drinks of choice. 😬

So what will you be having today, Rodney? 🤓

Seoul I'd make an exception for you...... But you'd have to present your favorite dish that isn't spicy, seafood,or meatloaf.

This post has me torn.

I want to give it a "thumbs up" because I'll be getting all the milk chocolate...

But I also want to give it a "thumbs down" because my beloved milk chocolate was called cheap. :(

(Not these days it isn't, unfortunately.)

Well, we might disagree on you sharing your Grandma's baked goods, but at least you're somewhat flexible. :D

And, apparently you don't like meatloaf, you get a thumbs up there!

However... I have to admit I'm not really a cook or a baker...

And so I have to go back to the drawing board as to how I'm going to my hands on those luscious homemade baked goods.

(In a previous thread, Jacob said he'd tell on me to my own Grandma if I tried to "taste test" HIS Grandma's hand pies.)

Maybe....just maybe.....I can share with you. I do have to admit, that it's a special privilege to share these things 😋😂. It's like trying to take food from a gator lol. So if I share you should feel lucky lol.

(Kicks rock) sharing is caring 🤔🧐🤓

How do you feel about shortbread spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg? I make these really good ones and I might be persuaded to trade some for an equal consideration of other tasty baked goods. And cats make me sneeze so I'll probably have to opt for petting the dogs at the shelter, unless they let us pet some of the more exotic animals at the zoo. Actually if we go somewhere that can accomodate the activity I wanna go swimming with the sharks (either in a cage if they're the vicious biting type or just free in the ocean if we're doing the big ones that eat tiny little planktons).

And tea. You can keep all the coffee; I'll bring ... lemme go count.... 27 different types of tea (yes that really is the actual count in my tea collection currently). Wonder if anyone around here knows how to make proper scones for tea.

Ouuuu I'd be ok with a sample swap lol. As for the sharks.... dolphins ok but sharks....I don't about that at least the biting kind lol. Tea, I'd try some good tea. I actually like the hot tea served at Chinese restaurants. That's pretty good.

To be fair....the ocean freaks me out a little bit.

Im heading to the SPCA to pick up a cat. I think God wants me to have one, to keep mum occupied and warm during cold nights while watching Shortland Street, hinting that I ought to have been a nurse instead of an out of work librarian.

Currently we dont have any pets. All the neigbours cats have been visiting but they are too well fed and already have good homes to want to stay at ours.

What time does the bus leave for the aquarium? I would like to be on it.

Please don't touch the food on my plate.

If there is a service I can provide you, I'm all in.

I'm happy to find other aquarium lovers here.

I love the zoo, but have always been especially fascinated by aquariums because of the animals living in completely different habitats than land animals. I love seeing God's creativity and how He designed so many living things to live in such unique environments.

I remember going to Chicago's Shedd Aquarium and seeing a Beluga whale for the first time.

How could anyone see one of these and not smile?! :D
