If a country is worth saving, it's womenfolk will willingly bear its children, and its menfolk will willingly fight to defend it. If a government needs to rape its womenfolk to force them to give birth, and enslave the menfolk to force them to defend it, the country (perhaps the government?) is not worth saving. Let it fall.

.

Wow, I cannot follow you. What in the world are you talking about? What countries?

what do 9/11, the war against Afghanistan, the war against Iraq, the Madrid train bombing, the London subway bombing, the war against Libya, the war against Syria, the covid "pandemic", the covid shots, the "war" in Ukraine, the invasion of western nations, the war against the Palestinians, have in common?
I give up...

Because only countries are sovereign and can be occupied.
Where are you not getting what I'm saying?! BTW being ill isn't an excuse for anything. I've always been direct! Palestine isn't a country, nor is the West Bank nor Jerusalem. Only a country is sovereign and can be occupied.

That's part of my objection. Not clear enough? Here's a video that is more in depth.

I've said the West Bank and East Jerusalem are OCCUPIED "territories". You seem to think territories cannot be occupied. Will you please cite your non-youtube source(s) for that misinformation please?

Fourth Geneva Convention - Article 49

Individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory to the territory of the Occupying Power or to that of any other country, occupied or not, are prohibited, regardless of their motive.
The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.
"Not clear enough?" Here is the actual article link and quotes which pertain to 'occupied territory'.

Denying them an identity is part of the argument that have less claim to the land and justifies ethnic cleansing.

Was sorely tempted to put a Loony Toons "Awww Shudup" meme here. That's how much :poop: that comment is. Their identity is Arab. Send it to 23 and Me, it's coming back Arab, not Palestinian. No such people, that is FACT! Your opinions don't matter. What matters is the truth!! You don't know it!

OHHH NOW Youtube isn't trusted!!?? After the junk you all have posted!! The video explains and gives the answer to the question you asked. This is at least credible and it's the answer you asked for.

Sad you have left.

I totally get it though.

Christians defending collective punishment and make no mistake that is what is going on.

The bombs being dropped on Gaza cannot reach Hamas, their tunnels are so deep the bombs do not penetrate.

They just bombed a refugee camp and defended it by saying they killed one member of Hamas.
Again a war crime under international law.

Do people remember how Osama Bin Laden was captured, it wasn't by out of control indiscriminate bombing.

What a sad day, when the history books are written about this period the church will shine as a huge failure, partisan and ignoble.

Not that I endorse any civilian deaths in any war(children, elderly ect.) but I notice that you used the words "(A) refugee camp" and it occurs to me that you and others may be thinking that there is a refugee camp set up in Gaza as a designated safe area during this current war. The proper term for the place your mentioning is the "Jabalia refugee camp" that was set up in 1948... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_refugee_camps Jabalia's name is still "Jabalia refugee camp" although since about 1987 Jabalia was also used as a major stronghold for Hamas fighters . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jabalia_refugee_camp I have no idea why the civilian population did not leave after the IDF dropped the leaflets in northern Gaza telling them to go south other than in their customs the members of a Hamas fighters family would stay to cook, clean clothes ect. for him. Anyway I thought I would mention the part that this is not a current safe haven for civilians called Jabalia refugee camp it's actually a Hamas stronghold used to launch attacks from and the media isn't pointing this out(they know westerners don't know this and will assume the IDF is bombing a designated safe area) when both the Gazaian's and the IDF know it is a Hamas stronghold). Here are the solders from Jabalia https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/jabalia-soldiers.html?sortBy=relevant

Girl, I never said YouTube can't be trusted. Can you copy/paste where I said that?

We don't need to listen to two guy's talk about the "Palestinian Land" and "Israeli Land" and working towards statehood. This is not what we are talking about. We are talking about a state (Israel) that is occupying foreign land. You refuse to admit that the West Bank and East Jerusalem is foreign land... meaning, they don't have sovereignty over it... they are occupying it. Your argument is that because the West Bank and East Jerusalem are not countries (states) and instead just territories, it's impossible for Israel to occupy them. This is flat out wrong. Please read the Fourth Geneva Convention article I posted. We don't need someone to interpret this for us, it's in black and white for us to read.

so, one who does not fully support Israel, or is critical of some of the things they do does not automatically support hamas.

wish folks could grasp that concept..

Ok, here's the set up. Say this Friday, Mexicans come over the border and they hit, well not Texas they're all armed and would blow them to hell. They go into Cali. before day breaks and they pull people out of their beds and they slaughter entire families. They murder 200 at a music festival for peace. They rape women, they take women and children hostage. Now be honest, do you think anyone would be able to stop America from seeking justice?? Do you think they would be called Nazi's for doing so??!!! Do you think people would say "Well America isn't innocent..." NOPE! No country does everything right. But Israel is a democracy. And this isn't the time to say "Well they aren't quite perfect." This is the time to get behind them, support them getting rid of these terrorists. If it was your wife raped and dragged through the streets, if it was your baby being held hostage, someone you loved, you'd want support not condemnation.

Plus protection is extended to all citizens regardless of tax-paying ability. The "scenario" was only meant to question the viability of libertarian claims, such as those who might normally be conscripted but object on some grounds such as saying it is enforced slavery, for instance. I am on my phone... ugh!
You're right. Children don't pay taxes but they are still afforded protection. That wasn't the point though... It was argument that someone is hypocritical if they are against conscription but expect to be defended by the armed forces they finance.

Your false statement that the person doesn't have any "burden". There are many burdens with finance being one type. Nevertheless, we agree, even if the person didn't pay taxes, he would still be protected if he was a citizen.

Why must I listen to something we aren't even talking about for you to read what is EXPLICITLY in the Fourth Geneva Convention? I was listening to the first 10 minutes or so at the spot of where you marked it. I followed their discussion of statehood. This has nothing to do with the price of tea in China however.

You refuse to admit that Israel is occupying the West Bank and East Jerusalem. I don't think anyone here would agree with you on this. Netanyahu probably wouldn't even agree with you on this. In fact, he has publicly stated his goal is to expand settlement on the West Bank further. What do you think they mean by the term "settler"?

I made it easy for you to read it directly from the source. Will you please just read the Fourth Geneva Convention Article 49 that I posted? Will you please explain why you think the West Bank and East Jerusalem are not occupied territories simply beause they aren't "countries"?

@Magenta and yeah, I'm not sure I agree conscription is slavery. It's certainly a take I've never heard before today at least. I don't know how I feel about it personally. But by definition, I don't think someone is a hypocrite to expect services (being defended) if they are personally against being conscripted but are paying into the finance of the armed services.

For example, I'm against paying into Medicare/SS and certain entitlement programs... but when I'm old enough, I sure as heck hope to take advantage of the social programs I've been paying into it my entire adult life... Though, I doubt it will still even be around when it comes time for me to cash in.

but, as Christians, we are not supposed to seek revenge.

i mean, about 6000 in gaza have been killed so far, so that is 5 times as many as Israel lost.

so, it is horrible for both.

palestiains are human beings, you know.
God loves them too ( not the terrorist, i am speaking of civilians )

You say "...well not Texas they're all armed..." but you have to realize that in Texas Latino,Hispanics are the majority not the minority and so we wont see whose who in the first place. Then again there's HB4 where they are gonna make it so any police can just pull us over based on our looks and ask us for our proof of citizenship and deport us if they see us as illegal. Makes you wonder how little Hitler(Abbott) is going to deal with the immigrants that are from places like Russia,Germany, Israel ect. that look white?

Sorry for missing your point. Nevertheless, do we agreed that someone against conscription still has a [financial] burden and wouldn't be hypocritical for expecting to be defended by the services he's funded?
