I'm sorry, I didn't understand this part: "getting up and brushing ourselves off is easier when you start to realise the dirt isn’t even ours to remove and so trusting being thrown becomes a priority, and any dirt just falls away by itself". What do you mean by the dirt isn't ours to remove, and trust being thrown?
Well when we feel guilty or ashamed when we sin, sometimes the devil tries to get us caught up on it all even after we have repented. And since everything belongs to God, that means the past belongs to Him now, and all the feelings that can get triggered and we only have to read what God says in His Word. we can override them by quoting scripture. Everything in the world belongs to God including our past and our shameful feelings when the devil tries to trick us.

I am really liking this enlightenment thread. I had another ahah moment.😊

So this morning, it dawned on me...

We can drift through life if we are not careful. Not having any achievable goals we end up like driftwood. Sometimes God dosen't give us a set plan to work with when we come here. Yes he gave Einstein a good mind and he used it well. He had opportunities too and is accomplished. I bet he didn't feel useless. Some of us are not that lucky to have been blessed with certain gifts but that does not always mean we have are stuck with the feeling like we are just a wasted life. No, we set goals for God and He helps us move forward. If we dont know what we really want, we start with the basics.... diet, exercise, and health and family friends.... even when we really feel like giving up, we pray and press on to the High Calling that ours in Christ Jesus.

Never give up. Amen.

(just picking myself up after a long week of giving up with my goals again...
Persistence is King.
I know that feeling, Sometimes we end up drifting through life because our unsaved parents dont raise us properly, send us to a secular school with out knowledge or wisdom for spiritual warfare to take a beating from the world and by the time we reach high school are ready to end our lives. Then they kick us out near the end of high school with no guidance, no purpose or life skills to sink or swim on our own and we spend the next 20 years just trying to lick our wounds and figure out what we want to do with our lives by the time we get close to 40.

I see. Indeed, hand it over to the cross, and leave it there, it's not yours anymore. And what did you mean by 'being thrown' when you wrote, "and so trusting being thrown becomes a priority"?

Not everything we do that’s ends up going wrong is through sin. Sometimes it’s just a mistake that we don’t do things intentionally( evil) But sSometimes we may well up blaming ourselves for things going wrong. So I meant that when we become aware of something we previously wasn’t, it’s like someone throws you off balance. Or disillusioned.

Yes I never could understand a lot of the bible but now you mention it it’s more clearer.

"This too shall pass." I think we'd all live a lot better if we lived like we believed it.

I mean sure, we say it a lot in bad times. "Oh well, this too shall pass." It won't last forever, we won't have to endure it forever.

But what about the good times? They're gonna pass too. We spend a lot of good times worrying about bad times we might face in the future. I don't mean when we're at a party, I mean just when life is going good and nothing too bad is happening - we never really notice it much. But this is gonna pass too. We ought to slow down and appreciate it.

Our money will pass. We need it, we rely on it, so it's hard to remember that it's about as reliable as words written on water. But we saw just this year how the government can print out more and suddenly what we already have isn't worth nearly as much any more.

I have a Roth IRA myself, and I'm glad I have it. But I'm not going to cry if the economy dips and my retirement account goes down a bit. It's all going to go away eventually anyway. I won't be packing it in my casket.

That coworker who gets on my nerves - he'll pass. He may die, but most likely he'll get upset about something a manager said and quit. That's how that kind of person usually leaves.

If I find a girl, marry her and we live happily together, that will pass too. We will enjoy the time we have together, because it won't last forever. Eventually this will pass too. (It might even keep fights down. Life is too short to fight all the time, but a lot of people still argue like they got all the time in the world for being together.)

This Thanksgiving, be thankful for what you have while you have it. Someday you won't have it. Enjoy it while it's here.

Yeah. It's all not really worth the stress we go through just for more of it.

I went a sailing just the other day
Up in a big hot air balloon
I thought I'd take some time and get away
Maybe take a lap around the Moon

From way up here can't tell you who is who
The make or model of the cars
Tiny houses line the tiny streets
Tiny pools and tiny yards

They take a lot of time and energy
For the amount of Joy they bring
It seems a shame to go and waste it all
On such tiny, tiny things

Unfortunately life is one big disappointment and judging by your age you should know that using offensive language on here is unacceptable at any age. (Reference to B word)

I think she's British. Lots of words don't directly transcribe to profanity between USA and Britain.

(Side note: This can be bloody handy. I've taken to using "bloody" instead of the F word because nobody in the USA gets offended at it.)

But yeah, probably don't use that B word here on the forum.
