It indeed debunks your idea that it is not for today. It speaks directly to the error of the text you used in 1cor.Nothing false, only your unfounded claim. As you always do :)
Well, your claim is unfoundet. There is no Single word which support your view. No Paul and no other person wrote: Listen this is very important. The proof that you are baptised with the Holy Spirit is that you are speak in tongues, as the first did in Jerusalem ( Acts 2,2-6). Your teaching is man made.
Because millions are following this teaching made it not correct.

However, the new tongues are actually new languages, not unknown tongues. Everywhere in the world that believers teach and preach, they will be fully understood.

When Paul, basically in making his Statement, which reads like bragging, that he Speaks in Tongues more than anyone else and wished everyone else did...you are saying this is just languages, he is bragging about?

that makes him an ass, more than anything else then.
i speak 10 languages and you only speak 2...i think this is not Languages, Paul, is speaking about.

We disagree. Consider what transpired at Pentecost. Tongues are languages.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Acts 2 describes the arrival of the Holy Spirit. I don’t see prayer mentioned here. Will you provide scripture for this, please?

2. For whoever speaks in tongues does not speak to men, but he is speaking to God, for no man understands what he speaks, but by The Spirit he speaks mysteries.

This is essentially arguing that since God created the language confusion at the Tower of Babel, only God could comprehend you if you talk in a country where everyone speaks a different language. Just as it was at Pentecost, everyone will understand when the real tongue of the Holy Spirit is spoken.

Paul, is not talking about human languages. a human will understand a human language. Paul said, only God understands this type of Tongues, he is speaking about.

why argue when Paul said humans can't understand?

he knows better than you do, me, or anyone else here.

If you go to Spain speaking English, for example, the people there would not understand you—only God would understand you.

if i go to Spain, i get an interpreter.
but 90% of them can speak English.

Speaking in Tongues, is a prayer Language, not something for humans to understand, like Paul said.

Please help me clearly understand our differences so we both together in love can find truth through His Word.
I think the difference is, that you believe that speaking in tongues is a gift for all believers which are baptised with the Holy Spirit. And I dont believe that, because there is no scripture support for it. The mentioned verses in Acts 2,8,10 and 19 showed only the jews that the gospel is for all mankind.
And if you take Acts 2 as example then the reality shows that almost all tongue speaking today is different to that what is mentioned in Acts 2 where the people speak a understandable language for the people around.

In Christian traditions, the initial physical evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues. This is the ability to speak in a language that the person has not previously learned. It is believed to be a gift from the Holy Spirit that allows the person to communicate with God and others in a way that is not possible with human language.

The Bible records several instances of people speaking in tongues after being baptized in the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles and they began to speak in other tongues. This event is seen as the beginning of the Christian church. In another passage, in Acts 19:6, Paul lays his hands on the Ephesian disciples and they receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues.

The gift of tongues is not always the only evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit. Other manifestations of the Spirit can include prophecy, healing, and the ability to cast out demons. However, speaking in tongues is often seen as the primary and most obvious sign that a person has been baptized in the Holy Spirit.

It is important to note that not all Christians believe that speaking in tongues is the initial physical evidence of baptism in the Holy Ghost. Some denominations emphasize other manifestations of the Spirit, such as prophecy or the ability to discern spirits. Ultimately, the question of what constitutes the initial physical evidence of baptism in the Holy Ghost is a matter of theological interpretation.

Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

To All Christians for All time until He (Jesus) returns for His Church.

ct 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Not for one instance will you convince me, that such a powerful and profound message of Grace and Truth, such as this Sermon of Peter full of the Holy Ghost, that ALL 3,000 that clearly heard the command of Acts 2:38 and they didn't follow it.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I keep repeating these passages that other may see and know. You keep dismissing the Book of Acts for this subject, I would like to know why?

FYI, Jesus said in Acts 1:8 that we would receive Power after the Holy Ghost comes upon us to be a witness.

This happened many times, recorded in the word of God found in the book of Acts.

Jesus said this in John chapters 14, 15, and 16.

Jesus also said in Mark chapter 16:17-18

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Everyone who was Baptized in the Holy Spirit after Jesus was taken up spoke in tongues or prophesied, or did both.

You can't show me in the Book of Acts any example where they received the Holy Spirit Baptism, and those two tangibles were absent. It is Bible guy.

Not your emotional content. Word of God, Bible 101. You use the words "false" and "error" to cover up or try to silence those who may be weak in defending the Empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Yet you have no Biblical text to "debunk" what is seen in the word of God. You like to cherry-pick but can't see the full context or understand Unit Chapters.

You pull church fathers out of the air while removing Jesus, who is the Authority on the subject.

Try using the word of God and not the opinion you have from your bias.

1 Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an FOREIGN LANGUGE speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
In 1 Corinthians 14:2 God's Word does not say "foreign language" as in language from some other country as we saw on the Day of Pentecost (that was one of numerous manifestations of speaking in tongues - this is not the only way this gift is manifested)

No, it says "unknown language" as in a language not known to man at all... and language not spoken by any race, country, or peoples groups in the world.

1 Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an UNKNOWN tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

I really agree so strongly. This signature I hope will help those who really want to know the Word of God.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Noone on Earth brings new revelation, that isn't already revealed through the Word of God, which is fullest revelation given to man. Through the moving and operation of the Holy Ghost, I Pray what we say here brings the truth of these Revelations, truth by truth, or precept upon precept, to the heart of the hearer. Lay what we say before the feet of Jesus (Word of God) and compare, the Bible is Always truth, so if they don't match, we need to reevaluate our stance. What we say or do here will have lasting impact upon the believer and sinner alike. We most certainly have freedom of speech, but any true christian will weigh what they say against the Word of God and if they don't agree God is not in error, and we need to pray for understanding. Those that have more meat of the Word can help those who are struggling, if done with humility, peace and love. I don't mind a peaceful debate, but when we start to argue amongst each other that is not the Spirit of God. God Bless and Peace to you all.

It wasn't written in English either. "unknown tongues" is foreign languages.

as we saw on the Day of Pentecost (that was one of numerous manifestations of speaking in tongues - this is not the only way this gift is manifested)
And no translator was needed. Everyone, speaking and listener understood what was being spoken. The opposite o that is being passed off in some churches. It is a counterfeit, and a bad one at that. If a language cannot automatically be understood by all, it is NOT from the Holy Spirit.

No, it says "unknown language" as in a language not known to man at all...

No, not unknown by the speaker but unknown by the audience.

and language not spoken by any race, country, or peoples groups in the world.
Wrong. Paul spoke of a human language being spoken to people that don't know that language. That is why a translator is needed. If there is none, then that person speaks to God not the people because they cannot understand what he is saying.
