Seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 kjv

This is a Christian singles forum. Have you been seeking his kingdom and his righteousness first? Or have you been skipping trying to get straight to the love part? I can personally say that it is hard to wait on something you may actually need. I do know that any longer and I won’t need it anymore. I’m a single mother who wishes I could have someone around for any time of day and night just to help me who is this little two person family. We all need to get closer to God. There are other things that I know he has promised me. Do I keep driving to get it? Or do I wait until he tells me to get it? Will it be successful if I try when I “ think” it’s time to try. Or do I wait until I KNOW he said it was time to. Is there anything in your life that you are wanting right now? But also knows you need improvement first? in the next two years, I will not want to be with someone. I will still want to pursue my visions and dreams concerning myself as well as dream's concerning ministry.
What does it mean to seek his kingdom first and his righteousness? Well without it…. How well will you be able to accomplish things? When tests and trials come…. Will you be able to stay faithful? Will you be able to keep the faith in Jesus? Knowing that you are still getting what he promised you? Are you certain he promised it to you? We must examine ourselves daily in order to know if we are truly seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
I have learned that if I began to seek out those things as if it is an absolute necessity, spending so much time every day, trying to fulfill that desire, then I need to stop what I’m doing because I’ve taken my focus off of God. This has been true about many different things. I guess I want to encourage anyone who may feel as if nothing is ever gonna happen to remember to keep your focus on God. Continue to do things here and there, but don’t let it overtake your emotions. If he promised it to you, then he will fulfill it. Nothing he says comes back void. I guess you just need a little more patience although it may not feel too good.

Howdy Janelle and welcome to the forum.

Yeah, some of us here are comfortable with being single. Something might happen one day to change that, but until then we got a lot of life to live in the meantime.

Then there are some of us who are desperate to find a spouse... The rest of us try to talk sense into them, but usually to no avail. :sneaky:

Hi! I do know that it could be more than just wanting a spouse, but a sense of loneliness. There are times I feel lonely but don’t want a spouse. lol. It gets complicated at times and that’s why I have to stay connected to God because I can get in my own way.

Hi Janelle, in answer to your question a quote came to me and I hope it will help, It is true to seek the kingdom of Heaven first but also from scripture it it written in GEN 2. 18;

King James Bible
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

New King James Version
And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

Basically it says it is not good to be alone. if you feel you need someone to share your life then seek a good HELPFUL man to be to your side. Nothing wrong with this on the contrary. Once you have someone to help you may have more time for yourself to reflect on the Words of GOD and and more time to seek the Kingdom of GOD.

Blessings and again welcome!

Thank you for that!
In 1 Corinthians 7:8 Paul mention how it’s OK /good to remain single. And yes, I agree it’s not necessarily for everyone to be single. If I’m talking about me, then I can say that is truly and almost nearly impossible to find a true Christian man to be in a relationship with. I will not settle for just anyone, so don’t patience is needed regardless.
Lol. I also already have the answers to my questions. I just posted the forum to see if anyone else would want to respond to those questions. In fact, there are many other things to talk about when it comes to relationships, alone in MY life. But beyond relationships, may there be anything that you may be losing patience with obtaining?

Yeah... I think that's boredom, not loneliness. The two feel similar, but have different root causes. Sometimes I have to think about what I'm feeling to figure out which one it is.

Then I go eat a cookie and play a video game. If it's boredom, that fixes it. :D

lol I guess it depends on the person and situation 😆. When I’m board there are many options. Doesn’t make me feel sad to play some VR

Hey how old is your child and what happened to the dad if dont mind me asking. Are you a widow?

With God, He is our Father and will look after any child that is Fatherless. Even when we have our earthly fathers, because Lord knows most of us do not have christian dads, they are very rare indeed, as far as I know, its usually only the pastor of a church who can be like a dad to everyone not just his own family...or Santa Claus!

I know I mentioned my previous marriage in the unequally yoked thread. My daughter is 7 as of this month. I came across this chat site because my daughter was sick throwing up and I was up all night taking care of her. I wanted something to pass the time. She was fine besides the throwing up. And I feel that my actions are reflecting in her more than before. After she threw up the 3rd time she said “thank you Lord” and I said “Amen! In ALL things give him thanks!” Her grandfather who was like her father is gone and she has been okay so far, but there’s no telling what the enemy may try to plant in her head as she gets older. Her father is a long distance boomerang. He makes sacrifices for almost anyone before he will her. I don’t mention him EVER because I don’t want her constantly thinking of him. She’s still in the “I have the best dad in the world” phase.

Aw ok

Some jobs aren't great for marriages especially with children. I don't know what your daughters father does for a living, but I've known a lot of military wives have a real hard time. Their hubbies are always going away on postings leaving them alone.

Oh yeah. He left the military before I became pregnant. It’s just his choice and his life. He can do whatever he wants. I will only be upset all the time of I cared too much. I will admit that it’s hard not to get upset when he actually does come around because he seems to keep it short sometimes. It becomes a bit irritating to witness the lack of genuine love.

I'm supposing marriage is meant to be a life together, but if you separate (or divorced) best to let them go, and they can love you without being always with you, the way friends do. Though friends DO spend time together, most of the time friends don't spend all day, maybe one or two hours is enough. 'Quality time' they call it.

It’s would be nice to have a lifetime partner. It would be nice if things were peaceful. With Good the father, I am alright! Just keep ex spouses in general in prayer.

A loving and faithful lifetime partner is indeed a blessing from God.
