The 7 year covenant -- COP28?

The covenant spoken about in Daniel 9 is the covenant promised by God in Jeremiah 31 and confirmed by Jesus on the cross.
Go and study Hebrews 8,9 10.
There will be no seven year covenant with Israel confirmed by the man of sin as falsely taught.
The man of sin, anti-christ is not mentioned in Daniel 9 and the prince mentioned in Daniel 9:26 is the emperor of Rome whose people, army destroyed Israel, Jerusalem, the temple, and scattered the Jews all over the world as Ezekiel prophesied.
The pronoun he mentioned 3 times in Daniel 9:27 is the Messiah, the Prince.

Are you saying that "he shall confirm the covenant" is referring to Jesus on the cross and that the covenant confirmed is referring to this

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

But that Jesus only confirmed this for one week and then said, nope, because of the overspreading of abominations He would make desolate?

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

That is "another gospel" only not another but a perversion of the gospel that we preach.

"They shall be My people, and l will be their God. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me."-Jer 32:38, 40.

Jesus went to Israel. He instructed his disciples to go only to Israel. Many of Israel believe, All those in the first church were Jews.
He made Israel desolate at the hands of the army of Rome in 70ad because of their abominations of not only rejecting the Messiah but falsely accusing him and murdering him and then continuing to offer sacrifices in the temple even after the veil of the temple was rent.
While many did accept the covenant, Israel rejected it and will only accept it and its benefits after Jesus returns.
We are living under that covenant today.
Where is the man of sin, the anti christ mentioned in Daniel 9?
To say the prince whose army is to come and destroy the city and the temple shows a complete inability to understand Scripture and believe what others have taught.

It was not seven years from the crucifixion to AD 70.

None of the pieces fit together. God is not like man, His yea and amen is everlasting.

The covenant that Jesus confirmed on the cross was everlasting. The covenant that Jeremiah refers to is everlasting.

Yes the covenant confirmed on the cross is everlasting. It replaced the covenant of the law as God said it would.
The first covenant was done away with and made void with the covenant Jesus confirmed. The fact Israel rejected it then and now does not change that. That is why the city and the temple were destroyed and the people scattered over the world and became a valley of dry bones.
How can you not see that the covenant Jesus confirmed on the cross is the one God said would come in Jeremiah 31.?

The first half of the 70th week was the ministry of Jesus. Began at his baptism and ended when he went to the cross.
The final part of the 70 week judgement pronounced on Israel in Daniel 9:24 was set aside until the man of sin comes as the judgment pronounced for their abomination of rejecting and murdering Jesus was fulfilled.
The teaching that there is still seven years left is based on only one verse of Scripture and I believe I have already proven that Scripture misunderstood.
If you can find other Scripture that supports the entire 70th week remains, please list them.

Not interested in pursuing this, the covenant that Jesus confirmed is an eternal one, this guy cancels the covenant after a few years. 70AD was not at the same time that Jesus was crucified, it was 40 years later. I'm not interested in wasting my time with this doctrine. Nor is it my job to debate every worthless doctrine and error.

My job is to point out the error, what you do with it is your business. There are many great Biblical scholars who have gone through this with great scholarship, so any person who is genuinely seeking the truth can go to them. Dr. Barnett is a good scholar, or you can read any of the very many Bible commentaries that are available.

Another thing I have noticed.
Those who teach the prince whose people will destroy the city and the temple as the man of sin also teach the man of sin will make his throne or his image will be set up in the temple.
You cannot have it both ways.

I have noticed that those who teach error don't actually read the whole Bible but take verses out of context to wrestle square pegs into round holes.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

There are excellent scholars who have shown that this prophecy will lead you directly from Daniel to the crucifixion of Jesus at the end of the 69 weeks. That was when Jesus made an end of sins and a reconciliation for iniquity. However, bringing in everlasting righteousness has obviously not been done yet, we are still in the process.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

I am not a Biblical historian or archaeologist, but they have shown that it was exactly 483 years from the commandment to the crucifixion. This is why Jesus rebuked those in Jerusalem saying that they should have known when their visitation was.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:

The Messiah shall be cut off, that is a reference to the crucifixion.

and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;

That is a reference to 70AD and Titus. You can't have it both ways thinking this is referring to that and that the middle of the 70th week is also referring to that.

and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

That certainly describes what happened to the Jews after 70AD in fact from 70AD all the way to the holocaust. From God's point of view He gave the Jews 40 years to receive Jesus Christ as their Messiah and the work of redemption that He did on the cross. After that, and from that point on they were punished. Scholars have gone through the prophecy in Ezekiel concerning the punishment to both Judah and Israel as well as Leviticus which shows the principle that if they don't repent after the appointed time of punishment the time is lengthened 7 fold. When you run the math there is only one time when both Judah and Israel could return to Israel from their time out and become "one branch" and that was 1948. In no other year past or future would the two punishments end the same year.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:

That is right, after returning to the land of Israel when the punishment to the unbelieving Jews is over they still have one week left.

(Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. This period of time while the Jews are being punished is called "the times of the Gentiles", or "the church age". Paul tells us in Romans that what happened to the Jews being punished was for us, the Gentiles, it was an opportunity for us to be saved).

and in the midst of the week

A 3 1/2 year period which is described precisely in the book of Revelation, and is the time given to the Antichrist, the counterfeit Christ, for his ministry.

The consummation -- כָּלָה kâlâh, kaw-law'; from H3615; a completion; adverb, completely; also destruction:—altogether, (be, utterly) consume(-d), consummation(-ption), was determined, (full, utter) end, riddance.
