I guess some people cant tell the difference between new wine and old wine, or good wine and bad wine
Hosea 4:11
Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

Matthew 9:17
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Acts 2:13
Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

The implication is that people who've been drinking already are unable to differentiate the good from the not so good. As an ex-over imbiber, I can assure you that this is the case. If the wine was non alcoholic, the comment by the Master of Ceremonies was meaningless.
More likely, he was not drunk and would know the deference. lol

Throughout John 2, the Greek word translated "wine" is oinos, which was the common Greek word for normal wine, wine that was fermented/alcoholic.

Two days later there was a wedding in the town of Cana in Galilee, and Jesus’ mother was there. 2 Jesus and his followers were also invited. 3 At the wedding there was not enough wine, so Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

So then, what would [ neos oinos ] "new wine" be?
If memory serves me right.....they drank a lot of wine. They didn't have access to a lot of water and water was not the purest. So they made a lot of low alcohol content wine to sterilize and for storage purposes.

So, you would say "new wine" is of low alcohol content, and the old stuff is
of a higher content?

How then would this "cup" (v 27) fit into the non-alcoholic / alcoholic picture?:

"But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine,
until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."
(Mat 26:29; Mar_14:25; Luk_22:18)

While the discussion on this topic is intriguing, it's also essential to address the broader issue of alcohol and its impact on individuals today. For those who find themselves struggling with alcohol-related problems, seeking help is crucial. Abbeycare offers valuable guidance and resources for individuals seeking rehab options.
If anyone is looking for rehab options, they can explore resources like Finding a rehab by Abbeycare. Ultimately, it's important to remember that the choices we make regarding alcohol should be guided by personal beliefs and responsibility, keeping in mind the potential consequences it can have on our lives.

Never.

Jesus would not, and did not, ingest alcohol.

Jesus is all about purity of body and soul. There is nothing at all pure about alcohol. It is toxic to the human body. It is poison. It is great as an antiseptic, sure. It kills microorganisms and bacteria that it comes into contact with.

Good for human ingestion? Not so much. Take a good look at the fermentation process and think again if it makes any sense at all that Jesus would make, or serve, alcohol to anyone.

Alcohol is literally the feces of the yeast microorganism. The yeast consumes the sugar of fruits/vegetables and excretes alcohol. It also flatulates carbon dioxide so the carbonation, all the little bubbles in wine, is the gas that exits the yeast's rectum.

Does this sound like a holy and pure substance that Christ would enjoy or give to many people to ingest after they had all "well drunken"?

The fact is that wine in the Bible is referred to by a single English word when the original language used multiple words to refer to what we call wine and also what we call grape juice (unfermented).

Jesus never drank alcohol and what He actually made was pure, fresh grape juice from water - as much of a miracle as creating alcohol, if not more so.

Contrary to popular belief, the Bible speaks negatively of ingesting alcohol in many places.

George Cruikshank's painting "The Worship of Bacchus" was a very well known and sought after work in its day. It depicts how society uses alcohol and is destroyed by it. Bacchus is the ancient Greek god of wine and intoxication.

Here is a great link about the painting and what it was all about:

22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.

24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:

25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose:

26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

If you are claiming that Jesus made water into fermented wine, that is utter blasphemy. Six water pots of stone would have been about 72 to 162 gallons of wine, which would have got everyone drunk that was there. If this wine was fermented then Jesus broke the law and was a sinner. We know this is not so because our Lord is sinless and that Jesus made new wine, which is grape juice.

Leviticus 10:9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

Habakkuk 2:15 Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also..
Grape gathering took place in the fall, and in a warm climate the juice of grapes would not be free from ferment. Seven months intervened between grape harvest and Passover time, so the wine used by Jesus at Passover was fermented. At Passover it became the custom for family groups to drink several cups of wine, which, as I said, by that time, was fermented. The Jews had no refrigeration back during that time. So in celebrating the Passover of 33C.E. Jesus drank real red wine, some of which he offered to his disciples in introducing the Lord's Evening Meal.(Mark 14:23-25) Jesus did produce fermented wine at the wedding feast that's talked about at John 2:9,10 so it's blasphemy to deny that Jesus didn't drink wine and then judge him as a sinner if he did drink wine. Jesus was talking about fermented wine when he stated Matthew 9:17; Mark 2:22; Luke 5:37, 38 here Jesus was talking about the inadvisability of using old wine skins for new wine, partially fermented wine, as the pressure developed through fermentation would burst the old wineskins. What Jesus said at Matthew 11:18,19 teaches us Jesus drank wine that was fermented or what he said doesn't make no sense.

When it comes to Leviticus 10:9 it isn't that Jews can't drink wine, but that the priests and high priest can't be drinking wine while doing their duties as high priest and priests.
