Re reading my posts and everyone’s replies. The situation hasn’t changed much and he is living at home not working. I want so bad to kick him out but I always end up praying for God to change something. He is scheduled to join the navy soon but has to lose 20 lbs but then tells me it is not what he wants and only doing it for me. I lose so much sleep, don’t eat right, and my health is not going to last. I am trying Dear Lord, I am trying, please lead me in the right path.
The right path is to lay it at Jesus' feet and trust Him to work it out. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast out cares upon Him. Your own personal health is suffering because you are trying to do Jesus' job. Just do what you are called to do...seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Until you let Jesus do what He has promised to do and you do what you should be doing, you won't find relief. But once you do, you will find rest...Matthew 11:28-30.

I try giving it to God but then I take it back. Thank you your kind words.

One of the most difficult things for humans is to relinquish control. We want to know outcomes and believe we can through our own endeavor bring to pass that which we desire best. But it's simply not true. God knows us more intimately than we know ourselves. And He knows better how things should work out. And He can actually bring things to pass.
Keep giving it to Him. One of these times He won't let you take it back.

I don’t like my son. He’s a senior in college, his degree is one in music, no job prospects, tattoos, piercings, sees a therapist, colors his hair. He just has no direction and cannot articulate a future for himself. I cringe when he calls or texts because I don’t want to hear his latest problems. I love him, pray for him every day, but don’t want to support him forever.
What is wrong with a father who doesn’t want to hear from his son? I’ve prayed and prayed and prayed. Asked others to pray. What more can I do?
Hello, honestly I don't think that there is something wrong with you or your son. In my opinion, people are different, we have different kinds of emotions and we express it in a different way or form...
Maybe spend more time with him and try to communicate your feeling to his feelings and vice versa, try to understand him in his perspectives as you also make him understand yours, in terms of supporting him financially I think he could do it on his own as he is in college now, talk to him nicely and give him some responsibility and accountability to manage his adult life but still reminding him that you will always be there to support him emotionally and prayer always works! Don't give up on that. Best of luck.
