Sam Alito issued an order that temporarily halted the Texas law till the full court could rule, i think it was 13 March? do i have that right?
Yes, you have that right. But what the Supreme Court should have done automatically is DISMISS this attempt at lawlessness. And also issue a rebuke to Biden to stop breaking the laws of the land. Instead it blocked the lawful arrests which Texas had planned. So whether temporarily or permanently, SCOTUS sabotaged actual existing immigration laws (which totally support Texas).

temporarily? my understanding is a US District Court judge ruled Texas couldn't enforce their law, and a federal Appeals Court overturned the lower court's ruling. at that point the DOJ made an emergency appeal to the SCOTUS, and Sam Alito issued an order that temporarily halted the Texas law till the full court could rule, i think it was 13 March?

do i have that right?

That's what I understood(March 13 is the deadline to respond),,,the problem now though is that they don't know who all just won their elections and with all the runoffs they wont get to it before March 13th.... https://www.texastribune.org/2023/11/05/texas-senate-bill-4-immigration/

I would be careful with SB4. It seems everyone thinks it would mean that in Texas it would mean the police could just start pulling over every Hispanic they see and making them prove their citizenship. In reality migrants come from Germany,Russia,,,England ect.ect.(not just Mexico) and work at places like SpaceX which is right on the border also. So notice in post #111 that Mr Horton is a white man not a Hispanic and listen real close to what the CBP agents explain to him about it not mattering if he is or not. In short if passed SB4 will require them to stop EVERYONE and examine them,,,Hispanic,,,Asian,,,white, black ect. migrants come from everywhere if you remember....

Yes. they come from everywhere. But actually it is only for people "suspected" of being illegal migrants. "A federal judge in Austin on Thursday halted a new state law that would allow Texas police to arrest people suspected of crossing the Texas-Mexico border illegally." https://www.texastribune.org/2024/02/29/texas-arrest-migrant-illegal-senate-bill-4-blocked/. I expect that the Texas Tribune has its facts straight. So is someone misrepresenting this bill in order to keep on flooding the country with illegals?

But Biden's tricky remedy is to illegally FLY THEM IN at taxpayer expense, so that they do not cross the border at all! And Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is actually helping with this brazen violation of immigration laws. And they all kept that secret from the public, so that his treason was not exposed to the world. But it has been finally exposed. In any event, this was the time for the Supreme Court to shut down Biden's treachery altogether. But they did not do that. They are colluding with Biden to destroy the country.

Thanks for your response. I see it fascinating to read the things people post about all of this because I think that they are honestly reflecting things that they heard from one source or the other(Fox,AJ,TC for example)... You have to bare mind though that I actually live in Texas and a lot of things I see people post I cant figure out where they got it from but I suppose some SM source. Loosely quoting @Susanna from a page or so back "people who ain't from Texas sure know how things work down here",lol

Anyway though there's several things about what you posted about SB4 that I think gets lost in the complexity of the bill itself. It was first introduced in 2017 during Trumps administration and so if you notice it grew over the last 7 years so it's in a form where you would need to open it section by section to read it all. If you look at this page and hover your mouse over "(prior session legislation)" it states "right number wrong year? view Texas SB4 from current and past sessions" https://legiscan.com/TX/text/SB4/id/2851390

This is from 2017 see section 3,chapter 364, sec. 364.004 which reads
Sec. 364.004. DISCRIMINATION PROHIBITED. Prohibits a local entity or a person employed by or otherwise under the direction or control of the entity from considering race, color, language, or national origin while enforcing immigration laws except to the extent permitted by United States Constitution or Texas Constitution. which is from this portion of SB4 2017 https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/85R/analysis/html/SB00004I.htm

I keep referring back to post #111 because this is from a known MAGA supporter but I'm not sure if anyone has watched it or not. If they do I suggest clicking on "watch on YouTube" because it will show that the video was put on YouTube about 9 years ago by the Texas group called DontComply.com (so during the Obama/Biden administration/2014-15ish)... Now not that I endorse all of the content or ideas of DC but to address your question of possibility of misrepresentation I'll give this so you are confident that they are MAGA/right political and among that circle/position. If you look at the video full screen and pause it when the wording comes up on the screen you will notice he is pointing out that he is not only being detained/in custody but following the text definition of it by asking seemingly ignorant questions to draw out certain answers from the CBP officers to establish it. At the end of the video the officer ask him if he is "Phoenix" and then a few seconds later the officer says "Horton" which is Phoenix Horton one of the founding members of DontComply.com
https://www.youtube.com/c/Dontcomply/videos
https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/fourth_amendment

Again many may think that bills like SB4,the Patriot Act and others are a good thing and only apply to a select group of people but considering that under the 4th amendment a Judge must issue a search warrant they are in reality an ongoing pre approved search warrant issued by a Judge. Notice that the CBP officer pulls a card out of his pocket and reads it to him and states under the Supreme Court...ect.(a judge gave him authority to investigate ect.) He also informs him if he does not comply and drives off he will be arrested. So he was within the 100 mile point from the border where they had permission(Warrant) to search/investigate according to Federal law but SB4 extends it out past 100 miles to encompass the entire state. Judge Ezra is an R.Reagan appointee,he is Republican so I cant see him defending Biden he I think is concerned with the wording in the law.

As for the other paragraph where the News and social media are having fun with Biden flying people into the US ect.ect. I think it's true but their leaving out the part where 270,000 of them who used the CBP1 app and were brought here were refugees from Ukraine that left at the beginning of the war so women, children, elderly ect. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/im...nian-refugees-russia-invasion-biden-rcna72177

Undocumented immigrants in California could have a new path to homeownership

Undocumented immigrants could have a new pathway to the American dream of owning a home.

Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) introduced Assembly Bill 1840 last month to expand the eligibility requirement for a state loan program to clarify that loans for first-time buyers are available to undocumented immigrants.

The California Dream for All Shared Appreciation Loans program that launched last March by the California Housing Finance Agency offered qualified first-time home buyers with a loan worth up to 20% of the purchase price of a house or condominium. The loans don’t accrue interest or require monthly payments. Instead, when the mortgage is refinanced or the house is sold again, the borrower pays back the original amount of the loan plus 20% of the increase in the home’s value.

The original program was established in an effort to help low- and middle-income individuals buy a home, but the program doesn’t address eligibility based on immigration status, Arambula said.

https://www.latimes.com/california/...fornia-could-have-a-new-path-to-homeownership

This is just the NINJA loans dressed up in a tuxedo. NINJA stands for No Income No Job Approval for loans prior to the Mortgage meltdown in 2008. It is a desperate attempt to keep the real estate market from collapsing. If they will pay the down payment (20%) and you don't ever have to worry about that, then it stands to reason real estate prices won't tank. The problem is who pays the 20%? Regardless of how you cut the cheese it will always be business that pays this. Also, why do people pay mortgages when they are underwater? They don't want to lose their 20% downpayment. But "easy come easy go". If I don't have to pay anything to get into the house I also don't have to pay anything to get out of it.

Also consider this, if it is easier to buy a house without the price dropping it is also easier to sell it. This will actually help many people flee California.

Exodus 3:22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

Since I quoted the Texas Tribune, you can tell us whether the Tribune was right or wrong.

Whether they are "right or wrong" in their presentation of the facts I think they tried to remain unbiased in that they gave the quotes from the judge,Abbott,Paxton, the ACLU and many others on the issue so I would say they were right in their coverage. About half way down the article they said they would be returned to "Mexico" unless they voluntarily agreed to return to Mexico which is one of SB4's issues in wording and probably why it ended up in Federal court. In other places it states "port of entry" which could be anyplace from an airport or a port at Houston,Port Author ect.... some may have crossed the border at Canada and driven to Texas(Texas would not have the information on anyone who were processed by Customs at a Federal port) so saying in SB4 that they would be taken to Mexico would be an issue they may have entered from Israel for instance. One of the main issues with SB4 is in that if the definition of "port of entry" means a legal port of entry into the US then (little known to many it seems) Eagle Pass Texas IS A LEGAL PORT OF ENTRY and that would mean that Texas(Abbott,Paxton ect.) are impeding the legal entry into the US... You have to bare in mind that these people are going to a legal entry point at Eagle Pass not to a place that is not a legal entry port meaning they are not entering the nation illegally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Pass_Port_of_Entry

Since legal ports of entry are being now used illegally, that means nothing.

This bill will give the Ukraine $60 billion in a single day, to put that in perspective the budget for the US marines for a whole year is $55 billion.
Dont forget "Ten Percent to The Big Guy".

...I think their outdated) that Reagan signed into law.
Well there have been additional laws to tighten illegal immigration.
H.R.2202 - Immigration Control and Financial Responsibility Act of 1996
If the existing laws had simply been applied faithfully, there would be no issues. Plus nothing has been done to deal directly with the Mexican government and the cartels.

Why wasn't war declared on all the cartels by the USA? They are a bigger threat to national security than Putin sitting in remote Russia. But the American federal governments refuse to deal with the real issues. Always playing stupid games. There was a very simple solution. Totally shut down the southern border until Mexico deals with all the criminal issues coming north.

El Salvador's Bukele offers to clean up Haiti
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2024/03/el_salvadors_bukele_offers_to_clean_up_haiti.htm

He could also offer to deport all the illegals in the USA in one fell swoop, and also lock up Biden and his gang of thugs.

Which is what the Marines and Special Forces should have already done but failed to do.
Tell the cannibal gangs that America it is filled with big fat juicy Americans? Yes, that might work. He could also call Biden and ask for free airfare for the cannibals. Barbecue would like that, but make sure you are using either United airlines or American airlines, their stewardesses are a lot fatter than the Asian airlines. Otherwise Barbecue might get turned off as soon as he sees the stewardesses.

In Hr2202 in the last sentence it explains it makes "makes technical amendments to:" and list the different immigration bills it amends. Among them is the bill from 1986 which is why I said I thought it was outdated. That is the problem I think in that in 1986(not blaming Reagan, even Biden was a Senator at the time and voted in favor of the 1986 bill) but at that time in the US they needed/wanted migrants as workers... Over time though migration became larger and larger year after year until what we see now because the bill from 1986 is still law. https://www.congress.gov/bill/104th-congress/house-bill/2202

Almost Heaven West Virginia
Lets hope if Abbott gets to be VP that he can get everyone to understand that it don't matter if you didn't come from Mexico or if you are a US citizen if they stop you for questioning whether your a US citizen or not you need to comply... It's a no brainier,,,you go through the check point,,, VACIS 2 gets your plate #,,,it checks the registration,POI,address ect. it photographs the driver and matches it to it's facial recognition database and your either the driver of the car or a passenger right? I mean it's not a complicated question right?,,,"Are you a US citizen?" ,,,,and it's not like they don't already know who you are by the time you even got to the BP agent that ask you this(thanks to VACIS-2) so just answer the question and stop holding up the rest of us that are behind you please... It's not like it's police nation or nothing their just trying to police the southern border and spread out from there. Here's a funny video of a guy that takes a really long time figuring out that they already knew who he was...

I have more reason to thing officer Sanchez and his partner are illegals here.
They are violating the BOR.
