He's not a linguist, he's French! :LOL:
They hate anything to do with English due to their "nice" history with England.
I don't know if it was during DeGaulle's time, but at some point in their parliament they wanted to remove all the Stop signs in order to "preserve" the French language. :ROFL:

What did Jesus mean when he said - 'a prophet is not without honour except in his own country and among his own kin and in his own house'.
I've never understood what he is saying. Why did his own closest neighbours and village not accept Him?

Last summer several men from church including myself helped an elderly man mow his land.

He has about six acres so it took awhile. It was difficult work but we enjoyed the hard labor and fellowship with each other. UNTIL THE NEXT DAY!!!
Everyone of us were covered with chigger bytes in places that I cannot mention!
Now we use the poem below to remind us to spray with OFF before helping him.

I remember when I was in France in 1960 as a student, most all traffic stop signs had only one large word "ARRET" with a ^ over the E.

Now the only word used is "stop." The French have always been reluctant to replace a French word with a foreign word, especially from English.

I have... just to wipe off the wet. Not the kiss itself... and then, I would tell him to kiss me again. :D we made a "game" of it until he learned NOT to give wet kisses. lol

What was his incentive to get it right? I would still be a slobbery kisser if I played that game with my wife.

phunnneee! i told my wife i don't like wet kisses awhile back. she was a bit indifferent. but events can be highly psychological in the home determining if we are really wiping of the kiss!. maybe a disagreement occurred & later the kiss wiping is our reaction. that's phunnneee too! the only time when i like wet kisses is when my wife & i just brushed our teeth & gargled! too, a lot more people wipe kisses off than will admit.

when our son was in high school, a buddy of his sold him his 68 Camaro on the cheap. it was in beautiful shape, and man, that car could go!

i grew up driving V8s. it's what most people drove till the 'energy crisis' in the 70s. then the little European cars became popular. i hope they sell 10 million of those things. :D

The four cylinders were a huge step down. I realize theyre cheaper to build but I think a really small v8 would have been 100 times better. A 3.0 liter v8 would be so much more interesting.

the things husbands do when the wife is not looking! it's either sad or phunnneee, hopefully phunnneee! i'll let you all in on one: a couple of times i wasn't happy with my wife so when she walked out the door for errands or whatever, i said, "what a schmuck"! now, i'm laughing!!! hey, at most, i'm honest!!!
