But you also said earlier But we can do NONE of that on our own. So, why couldn't that be the logical reason they stopped their ears and rushed together at him? It seems you're assuming that God gives ears to all and sight to all; yet scripture teaches otherwise.
We control if we hear to keep hearing or walking away from hearing.

They shut them "while hearing" the Gospel. So humans control what they want to hear. God made us in his image to hear Him. We choose if we want to hear or not.
You don't seem to understand that hearing biblically engenders understanding. When someone is given hearing, they receive understanding. It is this new understanding that yields faith. Faith always results when understanding and perception is given. This is the quickening God does. He awakens us to spiritual reality.

If you could provide scripture you would.
I only believe the Bible like I am posting.
Doctrine is like Philosophy, sounds good but has not much truth to it if it cannot be backed by scripture.

I've already referred you to Matthew 13:10-17.

Those are Parables spoken when Jesus was here to fulfill Prophecy.
Jesus has ascended and there's no more Parables being spoken because Prophecy was already fulfilled.

Those who are persuaded by Calvinism or who hold similar concepts MUST believe that regeneration occurs before salvation.

That, fits in with part of the TULIP acronym stating that mankind is totally depraved and unable to respond. Therefore, God must grant a kind of temporary salvation in order for actual salvation to occur.

But, does that actually happen? Frankly I, along with most Christians, find no evidence of this concept within scripture.

Of course it also ties in quite nicely with the concept of 'limited atonement' and God being responsible for our engagement with Him.

That, logically would mean that those who are not in the Lamb's Book of Life are really not to blame since God decided to send them to hell instead.

So do we throw out John 3:16 and all scripture that indicates we come to understanding through the word?

It's part of scripture. Man lives on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine...
Dismissing scripture because it's in parable form isn't biblical.

Jesus said it was a Prophecy that was fulfilled. That means it won't happen again.

You could show me then where Peter, Paul, John, James, Jude, and Others said they spoke for the purpose to have no understanding to re-fulfill that Prophecy but you won't find anything. It's a done deal. It was solely for Parables only like Jesus said.

Simply because it fulfills prophecy doesn't change the fact that it's in scripture which makes it by default profitable for doctrine. And while all scripture must be first understood by its original audience, that doesn't preclude wider application to all audiences.
The reason NT writers didn't make use of parables is because they were explaining the new covenant and wanted everyone to understand.

It does when Jesus said it happened for this purpose. That means there's not another purpose for Parables to be used.

Sure, no more parables. But what the parables teach remains pertinent. Do you teach from other parables? The prodigal son perhaps? Is it still good for doctrine?

When I teach I can explain so others understand. When Jesus taught none of us understood it. The days of not understanding Parables is over. We understand them.

Not everyone understands parables even when you explain. But that's beside the point. What parables teach is still true. Spiritual understanding and perception lead to conversion. Some have been given them and some have not, and each responds accordingly.

I agree they are true and will be forever.
I disagree on how you have used the Blindness/Deafness of Israel so the Gentiles be allowed to enter into the fold as placing this also upon the Gentiles. It was 100% only and solely for the Jews. Everyone else, Gentiles, have the ability to Hear the Gospel.

Then why are preachers sent if they can figure it out themselves? What power then does the gospel possess if all hear? Why doesn't everyone upon hearing the gospel get saved?
We definitely and fundamentally disagree on what it means to be dead in trespasses and sin. Thanks for the discussion.

You can make any claim you want but the blindness and deafness was only for the Jews.
ALL Gentiles have access to it.

The thing you deny, Free Will, is how we can HEAR and Accept or Reject.

Gentiles still have Free Will and the Jews are still blind and deaf.

So people today aren't spiritually blind or deaf?
