Yes, brother; I think our sister may have gotten a bit confused.
Methinks so in many ways that not even she can explain. However, I can't claim that I'm any sort of the lady that I others might think that I always should be but, certainly, I am no man.

Hello Brothers and Sisters!

I wholeheartedly agree with the above post of John 6! I have researched and read much on this matter. I think the debate is fascinating! I grew up Nazarene, which is Arminian, but later drifted toward Calvinism. Then, I watched a lot of videos on Provisionism on Soteriology 101 on Youtube. I think the exact answer is a mystery, but I lean mostly toward Calvinism. I echo Spurgeon's comment of "But why did I come to trust Christ at all?" If you ask "Why?" like little kids enough, you might end up Calvinist. At the same time, I dabbled in Lutheranism, which is Reformed. If you ask me personally, I feel as though I came to trust Christ by a free will choice; I did not feel forced. Thus, I can relate to our non-Calvinist brothers and sisters. The Theology Nerd in me, lately, has considered a mix of all three makes the most sense. Still, I feel mostly Calvinist. Currently at about 80% Calvinist, 15% Arminian, and 5% Provisionist.

At the end of the day, I do not think it matters very much, and I consider any person of any camp, in part or in whole, saved.

If you will pardon the parody, "Some say 'I am of Luther,' others say, 'I am of Calvin,' and still others say, "I am of Wesley.'" You get the jist of it, lol!

Blessings to You All in Christ,
Somehow Chosen Brian

Sister, I don't think it was Magenta who said that.
Yeah, I was on the phone with my sister for about an hour and a half at that time...

Well, one of my sisters. I spent close to two hours speaking with another sister earlier today, also...

I had tried lying down for a quick nap just before then but needed to order in cat food for
delivery LOL as I was getting quite low. I simply cannot allow my cat to go hungry, and
it is one of those things I like to buy in bulk, but cannot carry myself...

Ah, so, I see why I was mistaken for you now. You kind of look as much like Liz Taylor as I do.
I could make the eyes more violet if that helps...

and if you send me a pic of you, I can make us twins!!!

Then maybe you could impersonate my impersonation and not get in so much trouble!!! .

As a matter of fact, the original chef that hired me would typically leave off our farewells with, "stay out of trouble." But the most recent pic I have is from St Patrick's day where I am sporting a temporary tatt that a server brought in and shared with all the girls working the dining room and kitchen. The new chef took one also and suggested that we go and rob a bank after having put them on. Haaa!

Wow! Interesting stuff going on up in here. IMG_9356.jpg And to think this thread began with the beautiful topic of Election/predestination and free will. Then someone started slinging hash because they didn’t get it. Yikes! I better skedaddle.

Its not having to do with becoming regenerate...

The natural man (the soulish man - psukikos) will not be able to comprehend Bible doctrine which has been designated for believers who have entered into regeneration..

But, no one is required to understand the Deity of the Jesus to become saved. The natural man would see that teaching as foolishness.

The salvation message is designed to reach a man on the level of him being flesh.
For any unbeliever can know he is a sinner.
But, the unbeliever can not understand the Deity of Christ!

Regeneration does not require knowing anything that any unregenerate person can not grasp.

The unbeliever can know he is a sinner, and that a man named Jesus Christ died on a cross for his sins!

That's all that's needed to enter into regeneration.
After regeneration? Then that man stops having the limitation he had before he was saved, and now can begin to comprehend such things that the natural man found to be foolishness.

Even the reprobate unregenerate Pharaoh could know he was a sinner!

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron.
“This time I have sinned,” he said to them. “The LORD is in the right,
and I and my people are in the wrong."
Exodus 9:27

Pharaoh knew what was needed to become saved! To become regenerate!

grace and peace .............

Pharaoh's statement did not show reverence to God. He falsely made this statement in an attempt to end the plagues. Moses's answer to him in Exodus 9:30 - As for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the Lord God.

It just needed clarification then..... Which you just did!

grace and peace ..............
Edification is the best way to see things, at least for me, even if knowing it might not be meant that way from the other person, thank you for asking and clarifying
