Deuteronomy 29:29 says:
The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Basically, to me, this says that there are things only God will know and to not get hung up over them, but to meditate and learn those things which God has revealed to us, like the written Bible.

The world is always chasing rabbit trails, philosophy, assumptions, etc (always learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth). Hopefully, we as Christians can retain some discernment and not get caught up chasing every wind and wave of doctrine that blows by. 😏

Thankfully, we have salvation through Grace paid for by the blood of Jesus. As He said "only believe." There are very many false doctrines/teachers in the world today. And there have been many, many since Pentecost, and before that even.

Even within the Church, there are flawed and some false doctrines Denominational teachings that do not match the Gospel of Jesus. So, yes, we must learn to lean on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to impart the true meaning of Scripture, and let Him be our Teacher.

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Hopefully, we as Christians can retain some discernment and not get caught up chasing every wind and wave of doctrine that blows by. “

“But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. ….Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. and they wrote letters by them after this manner;

The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:5-6, 10-11, 23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

thankfully the apostles cleared that up and we don’t have to chase those various doctrines and can just believe what God sent to us to save souls

Yes hopefully we can just listen to Christ

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christian’s aren’t going to God through Moses but through Jesus and his covenant law this one

Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭51:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

amen

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Okay,
But people today still don't understand or believe the things plainly revealed.
Yet
Somehow they want to search out the hidden things of God...as if they would understand them.

They didn't understand who Jesus was when it was explicitly forecast for dates and described and even written on billboards. They didn't then....
BUT
Somehow mankind has evolved?
Yeah....
Ummmm....if anything I'd declare us less evolved or de-evolution instead of being evolved.

“For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:34-35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

“But as it is written, ( in prophecy ) Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He’s revealed then to by the spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Revealed truth from God

Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭

The gospel changes people if we hear and believe him

IMO, Jesus pretty well put an end to Law as being a means to salvation in the 5th Chapter of John:
Well,
I like to say it this way...

The Law was a means to live life in a way that pleases God. If you followed the Law then you were pleasing God. More "rules" were added later to stop people from sinning as they saw "loopholes" in the Law.

Jesus fulfilled the Law....meaning He demonstrated how to live a sacrificial life that was pleasing to God that we should emulate.

I/we killed him for it.

He instituted a new Law/Covenant (John 13:34 & 14:1 are the Laws) with his own blood...

Because following the Law was never really good enough to begin with. That's where the New Covenant has closed ALL loopholes and covers EVERYTHING.

Scripture also tells us…

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV
