Thank you.
My brother in law was killed while riding his bicycle with a group.

He was hit by a car. Whole family in shock:

FATAL JACKSON TOWNSHIP MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH UNDER INVESTIGATION

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Jackson Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz announced that the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad and the Jackson Township Police Department are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist that occurred on Farmingdale Road at approximately 12:00 p.m. on June 9, 2024.

On June 9, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department were summoned to the area of Farmingdale Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad and Jackson Township Police Department determined that a 2017 Audi A4 was traveling westbound on Farmingdale Road when it swerved to avoid a head on collision with a red in color SUV. In swerving into the left lane to avoid the crash, the Audi struck a bicyclist. After striking the bicyclist, the operator of the Audi over corrected his steering and struck a tree. The red SUV continued eastbound on Farmingdale Road, and left the scene.

As a result of the crash, the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Audi was transported to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold for treatment of minor injuries.

Continuing investigation has revealed that the vehicle that may have caused the crash is believed to be a Hyundai - red or maroon in color. The operator of the vehicle is believed to be a Caucasian female with a young male child.

Anyone in possession of information regarding this incident is urged to contact Sergeant Brad Frank of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929-2027, extension 3689, or Sergeant Edward Travisano of the Jackson Township Police Department at 732-928-1111.

I'm sorry for such a tragic episode in his and your family's life. As a former bicyclist, we don't know how many times we are close to such events. May the Holy Spirit comfort your sister, nieces, nephews, and his parents especially as they need strength for those precious broken hearts.

Please show them mercy dear Lord!

Update from my sister:

Bryan!! My Bryan!! My heart is so broken!! I thank God for every day that He gave to us, but I so desperately wish & thought we would have had more. (Bryan was hit by a car while riding with some of his friends from his bike club.)
My world is turned upside down without him in it. This is going to be so F-in hard!! The thought of not having you, Bryan, by my side is truly unbearable!!
You said to me the other day… “ya know Ging, we make a good team!” WE DID!! We were each other’s rock!! We had each other’s back & knew we could always count on each other. I can’t wrap my head around the thought that your time here is done… you had so much more living in you!!
Knowing that you knew how very much I loved you & I definitely knew how much you loved me, helps bring me a little peace in this horribleness! And Bryan, how proud you would be of our kids!! As devastated as they are… & they are struggling, I can see & feel the love & concern that they have for me! (& that goes for Lisa & Stevie too) You can rest easy knowing that I will be well taken care of by all of them!
I’ll love you forever my Bryan!!
Raider said that he didn’t want you in heaven & I told him I didn’t either. I told him each day it will kinda feel like Pops is here cuz we will talk about you & remember & talk about fun things that you guys did together!!
I will never let any of our grandkids forget about you!!!❤️ #foreverinmyheartandsoul

God turned our son's death in a bicycle accident 30 years ago from a tragedy into a blessing for the years to come. As result of his and another dear friend's death on the same highway, a bicycle lane has been added to the highway, and there have been no more bicycle accidents since the lane was completed.

We still miss him everyday, and look forward to a reunion in heaven in the near future.

We will pray for God's comforting hands on your entire family in the days and weeks to come. We pray that in this tragedy, you will draw closer to God.

We send you and your family all our love.
