And, France has issued an apology.... of sorts. Well, THEY call it an apology...... because CLEARLY this was not directed at any religion..... clearly.

“Clearly, there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. [The opening ceremony] tried to celebrate community tolerance,” Paris 2024 spokesperson Anne Descamps said on July 28.
if i'm not mistaken, Descamps works for the IOC. French politician Marion Maréchal-Le Pen (she's conservative) asked the world please not to judge the French people harshly, as most of them didn't like it, either.

i suspect Maréchal is right. it's probably a lot like it is here. i haven't been in France in a long time, but even back then, the people in Paris were quite different to the people in more rural areas.

I can’t wait until you guys find out that they sacrificed 100 oxen every day to the pagan god Zues in the ancient Olympics.

Oh that’s going to be funny lol
sine qua non-sequitur :cautious:

Why worry so much about what others do with their life, I don’t agree with being gay so I’m not. I don’t agree with putting kids on puberty blockers, so I don’t put my kids on pubity blockers. I don’t agree with Abortion. Therefore I have kids. I could go on.

You guys want the Religious minority to control the pagan majority. We’ve already tried that during the dark ages, and it didn’t go so well.

Tamarisk, it is CLEAR that you are here to troll. And you could not even spell Zeus correctly.
You’re witnessing me have to defend myself against a group of people that gang up on me. For spelling errors or having a few things off, even if you do the same thing.

If you’re interested in a productive conversation. We can definitely do that.

I’m a human being just like you. I’m not below you or worse then you just because I have opinions or do things differently then you.

A productive conservation deals with objective evidence and facts. Not manufactured lies from the Left. Everything they have been throwing at Trump is a lie. So give us an objective view of Donald Trump, which
includes all of his accomplishments and his ideas.

And who defends the rights of the unborn who have no voice?

There is a lot more involved than saying well I do not do it the rest of society can do as it pleases ... don't you think Christians should work to protect people who do not know better from the worst part of themselves, which can and does have long term dire effects on the functioning of a society?

I had to come to terms that when I was viewing Trump supporters as lying that that was in bad faith, and I should take you guys at your word. I’m just asking the for same thing in return.

Maybe I’m wrong or mistaken. I have been wrong so many times in my life and I enjoy it when you guys point out my flaws so I can correct myself. That’s why I’m here so I’m not in a echo chamber and I am growing as a person.

It makes it hard when I am called a liar for being honest and working through my Idiosyncrasies in conversation.

90% of Honest political conversation is spit balling. You’re doing the same thing to me that the media did to Trump when he started talking about Using light in the body to get rid of the virus or bleach. He was just thinking out loud. I’m working through his thoughts it wasn’t suggesting anything.

It’s the same thing here this is just politics. It’s nothing I would die for. It’s just an opinion man and you know what they say about opinions. we all have one and they all stink.

There is no scientific consensus that a life begins at conception. A person’s opinion on this subject is just that. Now you and I may agree that it’s more than an opinion that we know it in our bones that killing a child is wrong. However, the only thing we have on our side is a religious book, in order to convince other people that it is murder. Those people do not believe that religious book is true therefore, they will not be convinced.

We are in the minority, in order for a minority to control the will of the majority we would need to use government force or violence, if necessary.

We know from the past that this has never worked well. We called this period in our history the dark ages for a reason.

Actually, scientists have filmed a flash of light escape at the moment of fertilization. Life definitely begins at conception.

Dead things do not grow.

Law of Biogenesis.....
The Biogenesis law states unequivocally that life creates life and life can only come from a pre-existing life or other living things and not from a non life.

No scientist can refute this.

So yes life begins at conception.... a new life with its own unique DNA.

It's not about what people do with their own lives; it's mostly what they do to other people's lives.

Where do you draw the line at intervention, then? Should I be okay with someone murdering you and everyone you love? Is it "their choice" to do that?
You guys want the Religious minority to control the pagan majority.
We want wickedness restrained within reasonable limitations.
There is no scientific consensus that a life begins at conception.
Actually, there is. The debate is whether "personhood" begins at conception- which is a legal debate, not scientific.
We are in the minority in order for a minority to control the will of the majority we would need to use government force or violence, if necessary.
Its about restraining people's actions, not about controlling their will.
We know from the past that this has never worked well. We called this period in our history the dark ages for a reason.
The pseudo theocracies of the dark ages has nothing to do with the advocacy of good government that is happening today. Nobody is advocating a return to "BURN THE WITCH!!!".

Just looked it up and you are correct and I am wrong. Therefore I will change my opinion on this point.

Seems like the public is misinformed on this issue. Thank you for assisting in updating my view.

As stated above I just updated my view on abortion. On everything else can we please pick one point at a time and go nice and slow.

So then should we defend those who are in a different location (mother's womb) since they cannot defend themselves?

It’s the same thing here this is just politics. It’s nothing I would die for. It’s just an opinion
Since this is the Christian News Forum, and the news is primarily about the upcoming election, Christians need to be able to discuss the candidates and all related issues as to who should be the president of the United States. And opinions do matter, since they can influence people.

At one time the POTUS was the leader of the Western world, and respected by all (including enemies). All that changed with Obama, and then Biden. And now a person (Kamala) who is totally unfit and completely clueless has been put forward as a presidential candidate. The whole world must be laughing at this nonsense. Even a third world country would be ashamed.

Now if you want to evaluate Donald Trump properly, (1) go and review his 2016 agenda, (2) then go and review what he actually accomplished in office (through conservative new sources), and (3) then go to the GOP website and search for their 2024 platform and scrutinize carefully. Any unbiased citizen will give it a 100% rating for common sense and putting America right again. This is what I meant by an objective assessment of Trump (which you failed to present), not the Leftist lies and garbage.

Did he make mistakes? Yes he did. Many. But what was his overall impact -- low inflation, energy self-sufficiency, the southern border issue bein g addressed. making sure Iran was kept in its place, while moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, etc. And he was sabotaged from all sides and not allowed to fufill what he planned.

Is it fair and objective to say the Kamala Harris is the last person in the USA who should even be running? Check her EXTREMIST LEFTIST RECORD. She made abortion -- killing innocent babies and the unborn -- her top priority (as just one example). Here is a post on X which tells you that the focus was not on Harris but on "twerking":
"Yesterday's event was not a “rally” for Kamala. This was a trashy vile concert for a twerking Meghan Thee Stallion that Kamala was invited to speak at. Most of the attendees received a $150 incentive bonus and left halfway into her speech. She is WEIRD". Imagine paying people to attend a bogus rally. And the virtual approvals she is getting are also bogus. If you subscribe to X (which I do not) you can see all of this.

As to you personally, no one is interested in targeting another poster until they start trolling. So stick with the topics and make sure you are being fair and objective.

Trump did not win the 2020 election. He lied, said he did and tried to steal the election.

He tried to upend our representative democracy. He should be disqualified as a option in your mind as well.

Of course, I am indeed one of the few on here and you can see I have many negative reactions because of it .... read my posts in the Hatred of the Jews and other threads on the subject.

Have you made any posts to defend innocent civilians being murdered and displaced?
