How do I delete the thread
Threads are not normally deleted, which can only be done by a mod.

Posts have a five minute edit window. After that, nothing can be changed...

Stick around and get to know people, making posts so people can get to know you...

You may meet someone that way :)

Don't bother. Just hang around.

What are you like? What do you like? What do you dislike? What are your hobbies? What is your job?

Throw a few things out there so we will know what kind of person we are dealing with.

It would be o.k. to have one thread, that is pinned to the top, for singles who want to "mingle". There is a new thread probably every week, that pretty much is a singles ad anyways, so at least it would be contained. Then all the other threads, could be about anything, but relationships. lol

Who am I kidding? O.k. carry on........

Let me rant for a minute.

Look relationships are very difficult, that's why there are so many divorces. The truth is, most aren't prepared for the challenges of committed relationships. People are fooling themselves many times, when they jump in the relationship arena.

Who am I kidding? O.k. carry on...

While that is true, there is also this:

https://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/new-users-read-this-before-posting.91055/

Of course that does not mean that "I'm single and looking for a date" threads are forbidden. New threads are moderator approved, and you'll notice this thread got posted. The moderator saw this new thread and sent it on through. Such threads are definitely allowed. Shoot, you could post a new hunting for a date thread every day and twice on Sunday if you want.

Just don't get your hopes up.

Sure, I see that it says that in the FAQS, but I would guarantee you there are a ton a ton of singles who would like to use this platform or similar for the sake of meeting someone.

Many of them do. :)

It's just usually very hush hush and behind the scenes. But it was a lot more prominent when there were live chats and PM'ing was free. Back in the day, the Singles forum actually had some regular threads of CC members documenting their relationships here.

But, it's also real life.

There have been many cases of people who have met here, started dating, or even got married -- but there were also many cases where the relationships broke up and some who were married eventually divorced.

I've never dated anyone from the site (only met several people in person who became real-life friends,) but I wish the best for anyone who does.

It’s a chat forum like any other forum… sure the focus is on Christianity, but at the day it’s still just a chat forum and if they can bring people together, why not.

I could be wrong, but I think one of the reasons the site doesn't actively label or promote the Singles Forum as a "dating site" is because of too many crazy things that happen when people are given the possibility for romance.

I've been here 15 years, have seen and heard a lot of things -- jealousies, stalking, having to get the police involved (in more than one instance, and to more than one person) because of someone who wouldn't accept "no."

Sometimes I think it's even more harrowing than on a secular site because some people will use the excuse, "But God told me you're the one!" And if someone is convinced GOD told them something, good luck changing their mind -- even if it's all just in their own head. All kinds of one-sided pursuits seem to happen that are annoying at best and downright dangerous for the object at worst.

People are going to develop attractions to others no matter what, but setting some parameters seems to have helped cut down on a lot of the riff raff, since those who aren't interested in taking the time to get to know people in the threads leave immediately.

I'm sure we lose out on a lot of good people that way, because it's not for everyone, but it also snuffs out a lot of people trying to find "instant" connections, and then the next one to move on to when they get bored.

I’m so blessed to be married with two beautiful children and I remember back in the day when I was single and I was so lonely. I pray that God can fulfill that yearning for someone for him or her… it’s such a blessing.

Dude. I already said people can look here for a date if they want. Chill.

The way you keep hounding that argument, one would think we had told you it was expressly forbidden.
