One thing that often comes up when discussing politics is 'X' platform is removing our freedoms. For example when speaking about Republicans the first thing that comes up is abortion rights and same sex marriage laws. I personally am against abortion but even my Christian mother has very complex views on it and just about all of my non-christian peers are absolutely appalled by such laws, but the law is at least founded on some Biblical principles, atleast it's perceived that way, however; many people even christian will argue that it is not biblical that abortion is a sin. On the other side of the coin, there are folks who look at the democratic party and their thwarts again gun rights and speech censorship (which I personally am more worried about than abortion rights but as a single male trying to explain this to someone who believes otherwise just makes me look insensitive and self conceited.)

What do you feel on the matters?

Especially on the premises of 'Bible law' applied through the Republican party to all people including those who are not religious or Christian. There obviously is a spiritual transformation that happens when you become saved that allows you to be able to better perceive biblical law if you are serious about God, which many people who are not saved will not be able to attune to, but should they still be subject to the law through government mandate and if so does that mean we are strong arming them into conformity, much in the same way that we accuse the left of doing?

Thoughts?

A nation gets the government that Christians pray for. If the nation is going down the tube, the church is responsible. We see this in Great Britain, no longer great, a nation that won and lost one of the greatest empires in history. Queen Victoria raised a Bible and said, "It is this book that has made this nation great." She would not recognise the country now (I'm English, just so you know).

America is headed down the same road. It's not as far gone, perhaps, but I doubt that the slide can be reversed. The despots of North Korea, China, Russia and Iran intimidate American leaders. That never used to be the case. I do not believe that changing the laws is the answer. It's too late for that. Only a change of heart of a multitude will help.

God's judgement on those who know Him but turn away is simple. He leaves them to their own devices. That's punishment enough.

We could stand if the standard of the Bible is kept sacred, that is undefiled, and that standard is truth. That is, no one is allowed to subjectivize(?) the truth, and so we can approach any issue on that solid platform. Life is life, and if it's about choice it's about choosing between (de)ceasing of life or increasing it... for starters. So, the abortion issue is basically arguing either for against loving the unborn or hating it.

That's the problem with Christian nationalism. Any Christian government that's in place will make and enforce laws based on their understanding of scripture. The idea of a Christian government itself is so ridiculous I can't see how anyone can take it seriously. My thoughts are certain people might get into power with promises of making America great again and making the US a more Godly nation. That will last about 5 minutes and then their true colors will come out.

And what form of government, exactly, is atheist nationalism? Whatever it is, isn't that ideology basically what has been adopted and replaced Christian nationalism somewhere along its history?

Take the spirit (music) out of the picture and you basically have a Harris/Walz presidential campaign rally.

Speaking of true colors. Check out this "pastor" wearing a crown of bullets. Also, hear Michael Flynn say if Trump wins: "The gates of hell, my hell, will be unleashed." Yep, it all sounds real Christlike.

Panic seems to be setting in on RA.

His posts are getting more and more unhinged from reality.

Whose definition of Christian does one use?
You're's, mine, his, or hers?
And don't say God's because that will just start another disagreement.

Personally I don't really think of Trump as a Christian in the traditional sense of Christian values but rather Christian nationalism.. ..I just see him as the lesser of two evils.

I agree, but I still went ahead and voted for him. I mainly voted him to keep Kamala out.. ..but I am getting a lot of flack about it from both my family and friends. All saying I'm not a Christian and I don't love Jesus because I supported Trump.. ..I am just tired of liberalism.

I have no allies, it is difficult.

Well I think that one, the Democrat party uses language that manipulates the thinking or perceptions of younger or unaware voters. Of course, the Republican Party does as well, but I’ve noticed that the republicans exaggerate, not lie. Democrats say that America is a democracy when it is really a Constitutional Federal Republic. Even Kamala doesn’t know what America is. I don’t want someone in charge of our country if they don‘t even know what they’re doing.

While I do pray that Trump wins this election for many reasons, I do realize that God is above all earthly governments. He is the King of kings, Lord of lords—and whoever is in charge of America is there for a reason, whether we like it or not. Romans 13 is pretty explicit about it. So don’t care what your family thinks! Your vote is your vote, not theirs. It’s said and done.

plus, think of it this way: the persecution we face in the west is nothing to the persecution folks face in the east. Why are we such babies about it? I know fear is something everyone faces. But we need to overcome if we want to make deciles and partake in the Great Commission. I strongly suggest all of you read and really think about Romans 13. The whole chapter. Actually, just read all of Romans! It’s a great comfort, trust me!

In conclusion, don’t put more trust in the government or political figures. Put trust in God!

One thing I have been wondering is the frequent tie-ins with facism that is being used on Trump. If there is validity in that or if it's just a scare tactic from the left.

If your “Christian” family members are critical of you for voting for Trump, for whom did they vote? Harris is far less a Christian than Trump, and her platform far more dangerous both for Christians and for the nation as a whole.

Where I'm from we don't talk about who we vote for, it's considered private. Canada has a lot shorter campaigns and a lot less tv time taken up on politicians. People find out what the parties believe and support them. They do their own work. Maybe we need to do that in America.

It's a scare tactic. If it was true, point to me where he did anything like that in his first four years? Besides they don't know a fascist from a faucet. Think of history and fascist leaders, were/are they like Trump? No, it's just the left panicking because they put someone in Bidens place that is doing worse than Biden.
