I read it I just wanted to add a few scriptures for everyone

There’s a physical limit to how long you can pray before your human brain runs out of things to pray for typically about one hour. I’ve heard that when you pray in the spirit, you can pray for multiple hours easily. Prayer warriors like the late Pastor Cho Would pray for five hours a day.

I don't doubt that but if you're inclined you could probably speak to god all day long and just run out of things to talk about

Praying that long is ridiculous. You're listening to the wrong people. I'd suggest reading your New Testament.

f I've read the new testaments many times. You might think it's ridiculous for somebody to talk to god all day. nothing is impossible with God.

Your comment is ridiculous
Why do you say that? Did Jesus teach His disciples to pray for hours at a time? Is there some teaching in the New Testament I'm unaware of that says we need to pray five hours at a stretch?

Answer your own question honestly, what is more effective? The guy who prays for one minute a day or the guy who plays for 10 hours a day. Assuming all other variables are the same.

That wasn't my question. But hey, if you want to spend five or ten hours a day praying in tongues, knock yourself out. Let me know how that works out for you.

All in saying, there may need be a time when you need to move the hand of God with your pleas. You may need to fast for a week or two you need to go to the mountain alone you may need to be on your knees and weeping, reaching out your arms to the Lord. The Lord will look at your heart and grant your a miracle.

If people wanna pray to God in your Jacuzzi with the Bud Light in your hand…go for it.

Maybe you can pray in your home language for 10 hours… I dont Know… never done it…. But I do know in 10 seconds of praying I tongue I felt more anointing then in 1 hours of praying on my own. The point being, I want more of it…

Praying in the spirit is a blessing.

Many monks spend their entire day praying and the rest of the day, working while praying and very little sleep.

I’ve seen some of these orthodox schema monks and their devotion is almost unthinkable and it’s quite remarkable.

Psalm 88 (NIV):

1. Lord, you are the God who saves me;
day and night I cry out to you.
2. May my prayer come before you;
turn your ear to my cry.
3. I am overwhelmed with troubles
and my life draws near to death.
4. I am counted among those who go down to the pit;
I am like one without strength.
5. I am set apart with the dead,
like the slain who lie in the grave,
whom you remember no more,
who are cut off from your care.
6. You have put me in the lowest pit,
in the darkest depths.
7. Your wrath lies heavily on me;
you have overwhelmed me with all your waves.
8. You have taken from me my closest friends
and have made me repulsive to them.
I am confined and cannot escape;
9. my eyes are dim with grief.
I call to you, Lord, every day;
I spread out my hands to you.
10. Do you show your wonders to the dead?
Do their spirits rise up and praise you?
11. Is your love declared in the grave,
your faithfulness in Destruction?
12. Are your wonders known in the place of darkness,
or your righteous deeds in the land of oblivion?
13. But I cry to you for help, Lord;
in the morning my prayer comes before you.
14. Why, Lord, do you reject me
and hide your face from me?
15. From my youth I have suffered and been close to death;
I have borne your terrors and am in despair.
16. Your wrath has swept over me;
your terrors have destroyed me.
17. All day long they surround me like a flood;
they have completely engulfed me.
18. You have taken from me friend and neighbor—
darkness is my closest friend.

My silent prayer works just fine for me.
No need to say a word.
My God already knows what I need.
I trust Him to do what is best and lead me to do the right thing.

If you have spoken in tongues before, please share your experience here and how you were able to receive such gift.
I recieved the gift of the tongues many years ago, just after I had been saved. I was fourteen. I had heard the tongues in church and I wanted to also speak in tongues but didn't understand them and didn't know how and so I asked Jesus for it. I was praying to him one day, on my own during a quiet time. I went into a deep pray and suddenly I started speaking in tongues. Only a few words at first. It just came out as I was praying. Now after all these years I can sing in tongues and pray in tongues when in worship. It feels more of a direct prayer from my heart to Jesus. Like a declaration, when I am deep in worship to Him.
Obviously there are the other type of tongues which are a message from Jesus to someone or a group of people. The person using that tongue is normally speaking to a group of people out loud. There will be an interpreter afterward. I haven't had that tongue yet. I have heard it in church. The voice is usually very direct.
One gentleman I used to sit near, usually a man of few words suddenly one Sunday during worship boomed out a whole lot of words in an African tribal sounding language in such a loud voice. Everyone jumped and listened. It was shortly followed by an interpretation by someone else.

My silent prayer works just fine for me.
No need to say a word.
My God already knows what I need.
I trust Him to do what is best and lead me to do the right thing.

Here are some Bible verses that emphasize the importance of asking God vocally, showing that there’s value in expressing your needs and desires out loud:

1. Matthew 7:7-8

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

This passage highlights the act of asking as a direct expression of faith. Jesus encourages vocalizing requests to God as a way to seek His intervention.

2. James 4:2-3

“You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

This verse directly emphasizes that asking God is essential, suggesting that if someone lacks something, it may be because they haven’t voiced their request to God.

3. Philippians 4:6

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

The use of “prayer and petition” suggests making one’s needs known to God, which often involves vocal or deliberate communication of those desires.

4. 1 John 5:14-15

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”

This passage reassures believers that God hears their requests, emphasizing the act of asking according to His will.

5. John 16:24

“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”

Jesus here explicitly instructs His followers to ask, indicating that vocalizing one’s needs in prayer can lead to joy and fulfillment.

These verses indicate that while God indeed knows what we need, there is a Biblical precedent for expressing those needs and desires vocally. The act of asking can be seen as a demonstration of faith and trust in God’s provision.
