Does anyone have any experience with this? So I had a routine eye exam for the first time in 5 or 6 years, just to get some reading glasses as I turned 51 this year and it's hard for me to even read the small print on my study bible now. so I've been using my app.

to my Suprise the eye doc said I might have Glaucoma and was going to refer me to a specialist. Eye pressure slightly elevated by peripheral vision was not good at all.

To be honest, I'm a little scared of what this means.

I am no expert. My mother had glaucoma for many years. In her case it was discovered early and it was easily controlled with simple eye drops. These things can be a little frightening. Keep tight hold of your imagination for a while and trust.

As a person that is no stranger to scary medical diagnoses, I get the fear.
I had mouth cancer about two years ago. Of course one fear is it spreading to the brain, but after treatments all was deemed clear of cancer.
A few months ago, after telling a doctor, a cancer specialist, some things I was experiencing, she told me it may be brain cancer. And her body language made me feel even more scared.
I had to wait two weeks to get a scan. Then it took two more weeks to get my results. It turned out nothing was found, other than my brain that is =P
So just know that it is possible it's not glaucoma. Only time will tell for sure. Just stay on top of things until you know for sure. Ask questions the doctor as well. Don't hesitate. It's better to ask too many than too few.
And if possible take someone with you. They can help you remember what was said, maybe have questions of their own you hadn't considered and in the event it is bad news, you'll have someone there with you. And if it's not, you'll have someone to celebrate with. 😀

There are different types of glaucoma, with different treatments.
My wife had glaucoma in her left eye. The eye surgeon took the lense out, now the eye pressure is back to normal range.

I drink a crap load of coffee. I wonder if that contributes to the high-pressure..

According to Mayo Clinic

Limit your caffeine. Drinking beverages with large amounts of caffeine may increase your eye pressure.

Sip fluids carefully. Drink moderate amounts of fluids. Drinking a quart or more of any liquid within a short time may temporarily increase eye pressure.

As long as it is treated, you will be fine. My wife is prescribed Travatan, which reduces the pressure. She was offered laser surgery. Not surprisingly, she said no.

It's made a real difference to her sight. Age makes a difference. I can see at distance better than ever. Close up, I need glasses.

Unusual and true story. About 10 years ago, my Bible fell apart. I went to buy a new one. I needed a large print which had to be ordered in. I have a rare surname and the woman who served me noticed someone else on her computer system with the same surname. I'm a compulsive reader so I had a look at the screen. It was the name and address of my ex wife and son. I had not seen them for 15 years and I did not know where they lived. I immediately went to see them and my ex was not hostile. She's moved a long way away since but my son and I get on fine. Talk about God's mysterious ways!

Amen, his ways are higher than our ways.
But sometimes I still want it my way because I’m stupid!

"There is a way that seems right to a man............." We are all the same until we learn, usually the hard way.

my mother has had this for years, and one thing to watch- be careful of over the counter cold and allergy meds, some can make it worse..

I know someone who has had glaucoma. It was treated for years with eye drops, and they are very much needed to stay off the progress of the pressure building up in the eyes.

Since the onset of this condition he has had surgery on both eyes in order to cure this condition, until recently not known.

So, glaucoma has become operable. I pray the Father heal yo before yours advances any at all.

Ok, so the Opthanologist said I have Galucoma after running some tests. Prescribed me eye drops, but the crazy thing is, I just learned that my dad had glaucoma for 30 years and never told me until I told him I had the disease! He’s 84 and has been managing it on his own with eyedrop for decades!

Comedian quote:

I just found out about this. So I mentioned this new health problem to my father, and he was like, "oh yeah that runs in our family. I've been dealing with it for about 45 years. "Really? When were you going to tell me about it?!?

I think when a child turns 16 his parents should sit down with him at the breakfast table and slide a folder across to him with all the information he will need about all the stuff he has probably inherited from them, along with the current best treatment options for these problems. "Yep, this is probably what you're going to have to look forward to. Sorry."

People I know with powerful healing ministry and understanding of His ways tell me there is no generational curse such as "this runs in the family". This also ties in with the science of neural plasticity where we arrive that 98% of sickness is rooted in thought patterns.
