1) Do you see the ignore feature as something that should give you the "power" to "punish" anyone who offends you?

2) Do you believe other members should have the "power" to "punish" you "at will" if they believe you have offended them?

3) What do you do in a real-life situation where you find yourself in similar circumstances?

If, every time someone on here was offended, the offender was "punished" - the threads would be empty because everyone would be banned.

What if the "offender" is right in what they have said and you are wrong? Then what?

What if the "offender" is correct in what they have said - and, you are offended simply because you cannot handle the truth - what then?

You can't "administer at will punishment" on others just because you feel offended.

Sometimes, it is better to [just] "let God handle it" and move on...
And why do you see this as 'punishment'?

It's merely stating "we know where this conversation is going so let's not have it"

It almost sounds like you have a bit of a martyr complex.

You want to be able to make a statement in an open room but not let everybody in the room hear you make the statement?

Don't make the statement in an open room. You can't go around putting ear plugs in certain people's ears.

If you want to say something on an open forum, but have certain people unable to see what you said, don't say it on an open forum. That's what private messages are for.
I'm sorry, I forgot who I was talking to here. A room full of people who don't get it, no matter how simple it is.

So you have the right to freedom of speech, but as soon as you are done with the conversation you want the ability to turn off somebody else's freedom of speech?

That's not how this forum works.

True but IYO,why does christian chat have the ignore button?
You've been here since 2011. You have never wanted to put somebody on ignore?

I mean... I never actually have, but I can understand the people who use the ignore button. Sometimes there are people I have almost wanted to put on ignore.

You never stopped to consider that if You're the only one in disagreement with everyone else that maybe everyone else is not the problem, but the lone complainer is?
