When it comes to the armor of God, that which is designed to protect the Christian's mind is the helmet of salvation.

Eph 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

In his first epistle to the Thessalonians, Paul elaborated a bit more on this helmet by linking it to the hope of salvation.

1Th 5:8
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

In other words, hope is that which was designed by God to protect our minds.

In his incarnation, Jesus needed the same helmet of salvation that we need, or he needed to keep his own mind stable through the hope of salvation. The prophet Isaiah prophesied of Christ:

Isa 59:17
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak

Jesus' hope was directly related to the promise of eternal life, despite what he had to endure during his incarnation, and our hope needs to be directly related to that same promise as well.

Here are links to a two-part sermon on the topic of the helmet of hope. If you listen to them, then I believe that they will help you tremendously.

You are in my prayers.
