Yes, God did hate Esau… now ponder this…

What does Love hate?
What does Love love?

I’m finding God and Love are interchangeable… synonyms.. of course I’m speaking of amazing powerful uncompromising holy pure Love that never changes…
not human superficial love… that is never constant.. love you one day and not the next…
I would argue that hate can sometimes in the Bible mean not prefer, or love less. I will provide one example:

Matthew 10:37
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Luke 14:26
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple.

Join me as we continue to ponder…

fellow believers are to know and recognize each other by the love we have for one another… it’s not by anything else… just Love…

People’s love grows cold towards the end of days… yet, I believe God’s Love in the hearts of His Believers will grow hotter and hotter, fervent and more fervent… always abounding more and more…
Those that will not quit to know God, the Father of the risen Son as in Col 1:21-23 to see, seeing this.
I am forgiven by God through Son, even whenever I did wrong again as I have done and still could today, being in unredeemed flesh and blood nature. I choose now over having to choose in past teachings of religion, which religion teaches one has to do to get in, be in and stay in otherwise you not in flesh nature that will never please God.

Hogwash! I now see to choose to love all as called by risen Son given me, available for us all to choose. Yes there is much wrong, been there done wrong myself, I went through the Have to, should do, should have done stages of me, that did nothing but eat me up over guilt and then pride got me lost as a better person than others, with the attitude, I am doing it as I see others are not as if I am a better person and I am not better than anyone else ever. (Luke 18:9-14) (Rom 2:1-4)
Just, love all as God loved(s) us all first as revealed on that cross, that Son went to willingly to save us in his resurrected life.
Then one walks new perfect with God doing the done work of Son through these believers, as one then sees the fruit as real or not and remains harmless in the meantime, letting it be in trust to God to let God do whatever is needed through them as in Luke 21:14-15 to me at least, in process learning daily, thanks for your posting Lafftur

Ever pondered what John wrote that God is Love…

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John.4.8&version=KJV

What exactly does that mean…

Does that mean that ONLY God is Love…

Does that mean that ONLY Love is worthy of worship because God is Love… ONLY God is worthy to be worshipped…

If ONLY God is Love, then Love has created all of creation and Love is God and therefore, Love cannot be created because Love is the Creator…

Yet, God has created us with the capacity or ability to love but, we have to choose to do so… we don’t love yet unconditionally… it’s not yet WHO we are but, I do believe it is WHO God is making us to be… just like Him… Love… Pure Love… personified.

I choose to love… God, others and myself… I don’t always choose to love but, I am starting to choose to love more and more…

How are your choices to love God, others and yourself going?
that whole epistle deals with Gods love and how it affects and also inspires us to act in it

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

shows tangible details of what it is in his eyes

“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:1-3‬ ‭

1 John really is an informative and thorough teaching letter but single verses are best understood by the verses leading into and out from them .

The apostle John wasn’t writing a whole bunch of mysterious single sentences seperwted from each other that were meant to try to decipher.

he’s actually saying something in the message the whole letter he sent explaining deep truths about Gods love to the Church and our relationship with and in him the beloved Jesus Christ

Thanks for the other example. Hopefully L will now agree with us.
Since L appears to be on hiatus, I will post a song lyric appropriate for this thread.

God is love; God is light
God is faithful day and night
He is eternal; He never changes
'though the seas rise up to swallow mountain ranges.

God is interested in you and me.
Wanting us to be the best we can be,
We're not perfect living the way we do
But He knows just what we're going through.

God is love...

Satan can not love.. for love is of God.

" by hating His enemy Esau. " In Hebrew words can and do have more then one meaning. God preferred blah blah blah. God didn't hate Esau. Like one said unloved is used instead of hate in scripture. . God loved both Esau and Jacob, but He chose to give Jacob special status.

Is God out side of time? For God so loved the world. That is all with in this world. He does not hate any one.
