During his recent visit to Singapore, Pope Francis declared that “all religions are a path to God,” sparking a backlash among Christian leaders and believers around the world. Departing from his prepared remarks, Francis, who’ll turn 88 in December, spoke off the cuff, stating that different religions are like “different languages” to reach God.

“If you start to fight: My religion is more important than yours, mine is true and yours isn’t. Where will that lead us? he asked, according to Catholic news outlet Crux. “There’s only one God, and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, and they are different paths [to God],” he added.

Yes, that is what he said. I suspect he got 30 pieces of silver for that.

Pope John 23rd was the one that called the Second Vatican Council he treated all people equal becuase we were all made in Gods image and wanted a revival within the church everyone loved him he was nicknamed the good pope while Pope john paul the second wanted interfaith dialogue and respect for other religion. I didn't know about him kissing the Quran but last year he stood up for some of his fellow priest that were accused of crimes. This raise eyebrows world wide.

Here is the video.

Francis is the first Jesuit ever chosen to be Pope. He's also an Ecumenist so this isn't a surprise.

That guy is a politician.

Most people look at Francis and think, leader of the Catholics, but your statement isn't false. Catholic means Universal.

According to Malachi's Catholic Prophecy, this will be the last white cap in Rome, before it's destruction, or maybe something else.

"Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.[17] "

Kissing the Qu'ran?!?! Isn't that sending mix signals to Catholic Christians?!?!

This is the same church, that historically forbid it's people to have the Bible. Do I have this straight?
What mixed message would that be? It seems they want to unify. AI Overview (from general search)

Yes, Pope Francis has said that Christians and Muslims worship the same God:

Pope Francis
In a statement, Pope Francis compared different religions to different languages or dialects, saying that each is a way to arrive at God.

Saint John Paul II
In a speech in front of a Moroccan soccer stadium, Saint John Paul II proclaimed, “We believe in the same God!”.

However, some have criticized the idea that all religions are equal and lead to the same God:

Archbishop Emeritus of Philadelphia
Charles J. Chaput has criticized the idea that all religions have equal weight,
saying that it's a flawed idea for the successor of Peter to support.

The Church
The Church has explicitly condemned the idea that all religions are equal and
lead to the same God, and has grounded its rejection of such ideas on Scripture.

Yes yes the catholics have a bad reputation but the truth is books weren't affordable to the majority of the public until the 1800s before that they were a luxury. A peasant would never be able to afford one in their lifetime. Then there the fact they couldn't read and even if they could read the Bible was in Latin.

Pope Francis condemned burnings of the Quran in Europe as barbarism. I don't know that he has missed the Quran.

While Pope John Paul did kiss it in May of 1999.

Catholic means Universal.
In non-ecclesiastical use, small "c" catholic means universal, this is true.

Whether or not the word is capitalized should inform us as to the meaning.

Majuscule "C" Catholic refers to the Roman Catholic church.

Probably should also add, Eastern Orthodox Church, and Oriental Orthodox Church.

I was banned from another site for telling the truth about the Roman Catholic organisation. I have nothing against Catholics as individuals but yeah, Francis proves my point.

When he says they worship the same God then that means he does not recognize that Jesus is God. No matter how you cut it that word is a denial of Jesus' divinity. That means he also denies the incarnation.

The Catholic church and the popes burning all the books and those who printed them certainly didn't make reading the bible any more affordable for those poor peasants.
