Being somewhat of a forced introvert, I sometimes watch movies just to give my mind a break. This one is Thanksgiving themed, and I like it. If anybody is looking for something to veg out with tonight, then this might do the trick.

This all just makes me think, "Hey, Vert!"

And I think I'm more of a Bertvert than an Ernievert.

This is fascinating.

Do you think it was your love of music -- maybe the distraction of something you're so passionate about -- and the camaraderie of being surrounded by others with that same interest, that suddenly made your fears of public speaking disappear?
I've thought about this on and off for years, since, and never could come up with a definitive answer. Somehow performing with a band just made me more confident.
I did love being in a band and being on stage. It had been my dream, back then, to become popular enough to make a living out of it.

I was raised in circumstances that either brought out or trained me to be an extrovert and to always be around people. I even got to a point where I felt like I could never be alone. But then things happened in my life that forced me to be very, very alone. At first, and for many years, I felt like I was dying, but after a very long time, I started to feed off some of the alone time instead.
Boy, can I relate. Especially with the "for many years, I felt like I was dying" part. Maybe, just maybe, people like you and me were dying. Dying to ourselves, by God's design, so that we might truly live solely for him.

You know, there are many clichés in Christianity like "You need to press an olive to get out the oil," and "You need to crush a grape to make wine," but when you are actually experiencing these things, and on a daily basis...

Not only will a lot of people shy away from you, as if you are cursed, but you will probably often wonder if something isn't terribly wrong with you yourself when, all along, God's hand has truly been in it while trying to bring us to this place of absolute surrender.

Gal 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

We all must die to ourselves so Christ alone can truly live in and through us. This is the actual call of God upon every Christian's life.

I know that this was not the intent of the thread, but this is the intent of God for each and every one of us. His grace is sufficient.

Lol!

I have to confess, I kinda live like Bert.

But at heart, I'm a lot more like Ernie.

Introvert. People are not all the same. In school system. I always sat in the back, and never spoke. I noticed others were out spoken and very ambiguous. We have different interest. My older brother, once had a guitar, and was studying music. I have no interest in that. There were few other's who were introverted in school system. Range of different personalities. I came across people in my life who have different perspectives and beliefs. And there were some who were Toxic, and I avoided them. Another brother once did tae kwon doe for several years. I have no interest in martial arts. I was more of a book worm.

It's not uncommon for introverts to be bookworms, but many are not. I am a fan of martial arts, for example, not hardcore, but I do enjoy it. If my health permitted it I'd love to learn various ones. I also enjoy watching MMA.
I'm an introvert that loves music, but I have no skills in it. If I did I'd love to play music and learn instruments.
In fact (at least in the rock/metal scene) many of the bass players are themselves introverts. It's an instrument that they tend to go for, for some reason. Possibly because bass players tend to attract the least attention.
I did enjoy reading a lot when I was younger, also. Not to mention writing. These days I don't really read anymore, though. But I'm also more introverted now than I used to be.

Thank you. My oldest brother, was more talented than my second oldest brother in playing guitar. My oldest brother, when he got older, switched to a mandolin.. one time, my oldest brother played eric Clapton song, tears in heaven, on his guitar. There's a lady on YouTube, her name, kappa danielson. Her, and two daughters are phenomenal. Playing guitar and violin. She's very gifted. Her version of knocking on heavens door, bob Dylan, was excellent, in my opinion. My youngest brother, when he was kid. Trained in American Kenpo karate. He did number of tournaments. My dad thought he was gifted. He never won tournament, but did very well. All of sudden, after 4 year's, he stopped. I never asked him why. My older brother, stopped taekwondo, his back had problems. I can see different gifts in my brother's. Actor jason statham is black belt in karate. And wing chun, and kick boxing. Keanu Reeves studied ju jitso and kick boxing. Has several black belts. When I was young, I played tennis. I played against semi pro from Texas, in ladder tournament in the finals, my home town. I gave him run for his money. He had minor injury on his elbow, and I was runner up. After 10 years, l Lost Internet in tennis. He Left semi pro circuit, before coming to my state. Winton filipek was the best tennis player in my state. The former Texas semi pro played winton, and messed up his elbow badly, he lost.
