Precious friend, @JoeyJoego, you Are Very Welcome. I know that 'before I was a christian,' I
believe "God Helped me" get away from my alcoholic problems - one day I just quit cold turkey.

After my salvation and years of Bible study I found the following:

I will be praying for you; Please be Very Richly Encouraged
and Comforted In:

God’s Grace Word For our infirmities!

Amen.

"This type of personal 'issues" requires a serious inventory of one's personal
state of emotional and/or mental anxieties that can bring about irrational behavior."

'Counseling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and
helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues. Obviously, this must be a concern for you
to opt out of coming to a website with expectations from strangers. Vulnerability should be aware of in this type of platform.'

'Hoping for a reprieve from God is on you to choose your options of going alone or hopefully
finding spiritual redemption.'

Hey, Joey, and welcome.

I think that a very practical solution to your problem is found in the following words of the Apostle Paul.

Rom 6:12
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Rom 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Rom 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Rom 6:15
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Rom 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:17
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Rom 6:19
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Whereas in times past you have yielded your eyes, hands, and (How shall I say this?) "privy member" to porn and masturbation, thereby becoming a servant to sin, you now need to yield your members unto God as servants to righteousness unto holiness.

I would suggest to you that you must first be sorry for your sins or ashamed of them (Rom. 6:21) because it is godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation.

2Co 7:10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Of course, after truly sorrowing, you must then genuinely repent before God while asking not only for his forgiveness, but also for the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to now help you to obey his command to be holy as he is holy (1 Pet. 1:16).

He will both forgive you and give you the power to overcome that addiction if you truly are willing to submit your members to him.

You might also want to follow the practical advice given here:

Psa 101:3
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Hi JoeyJoego, so glad the Lord led you to CC, welcome! I got set free of a few addictions by heartfelt prayers to God, effort on my part, then expecting a miracle. Also,
'But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts' Gal 5:16.
'Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; / you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body' 1 Cor 6:19-20.
There are many other words from God letting us know we're in a WAR against the lusts for the flesh. Many are addictive, but God has made a way to overcome them. Get 'in the Spirit' by reading and studying the 'Truth' in the Bible. The enemy is against us but, praise God, He is for us😊🙌 Others have beat even homosexuality and you can when you're ready to submit your being to obedience. God will bless and guide you through this, IJNA🙏✝✡✨✨✨
