When you were a kid did you believe in Santa Claus?

Did you not believe?

Did you argue with kids who believed differently? Did you ever fight with other kids about whether Santa was real?

If your parents did tell you Santa was real, when did you find out he was not?

If your parents did not tell you Santa was real, what did they tell you when you started asking them about this Santa dude you heard about?

Hubby and I were talking about that last night. lol He was taught about Santa and learned at school he wasn't real. My father, he was big against Santa. So my sister and I were never taught about him. Saint Nick kind of idea but not the fat guy with reindeer bringing presents.

My mother probably would have but not my father. He was strict against it and didn't even like decor with Santa. Which brings up a funny story. My mother had a huge Santa painting she had done. It was some sort of oil paint, I still remember the smell. Some store I can't recall sold the outline of pictures and then you "painted" them. She did several but one was this huge Santa. We lived in a two story house and we always used the back entry and left the house from there. So my Mom got the bright idea to put her Santa on our front door. Dad didn't say anything the whole season. When she opened the door to take it down, my father "caught" her. She started to make excuses and he said " You think I didn't know it was there the whole time?" She was caught. lol He didn't make a deal about it, and she didn't try to "hide" it again.

Fast forward to my oldest nephew. Dad bent his rule about Santa because my sister did teach her kids about him. He called my nephew and faked his Santa voice. My nephew was all in until he saw the Thomas the train set his mother was trying to sneak under the tree. I was taking a video and suddenly he saw the gift and said " Here auntie, YOU talk to Santa Claus!" then took off running to the tree. lol I did rib my father about bending his Santa rule for the grandkids. Grand-parenting makes you soft apparently, and as a new great aunt, I can totally understand that.

Oh man, if there are TWO Santa's, does that mean I have a shot at getting DOUBLE the presents?!!

Or at least upping my chances from 1 out of 1 to at least 1 out of 2.

I mean, I couldn't POSSIBLY wind up on TWO DIFFERENT naughty lists, right??!!! :devilish::mad:

RIGHT???!!!

No sis, there is no way you could end up on two naughty lists, I'm sure of it! Since I never believed in the jolly old man I'm sure I was ridin' the two lists warning back in the day. I've mellowed out... yes, this is me, mellowed out. And I credit it to my husband, poor soul. rofl

these were "paint by number" sets. I did a bunch of them as a kid.. a couple of them actually turned out ok, if you looked at them from a distance....

Yes. It was the same idea, but this was done on fabric. Ok now I have to find out what it was called. Mom's sister did one too, with Jesus standing at the door knocking. I guess she wasn't naughty like my Mom. rofl

Your Mom sounds like a hoot!

You may have noticed, but we have a special liking here for people who are her brand of naughty. :D

Haha she really is! Hubby and I bought my Dad a big, soft blanket, he likes something over his legs while he watches TV. The blanket was rolled up and had this leather two belt strap to hold it together in the roll. I decided it would fit better in a box so I took off the leather straps and laid them aside on a chair. Mom didn't know about the blanket and she picked up the double leather straps and asked me and my hubby if we had bought her and Dad a "bondage" toy. She is 75 and he is 73. We about died laughing. I didn't even know she knew about those toys.:eek:
