A soul is a living spirit inside a body created of dust that’s what we are a body that has no life in it but a spirit that then gives the body life and thought and feeling

Mans body was made of the earth but what gave us life is what came out of God and went into that dead body. Our spirit . Then we became a living soul a souls isn’t contrary to a spirit a spirit is the living part of a soul . the flesh is the part that doesn’t last and is appointed to die first and then the judgement is the spirit that returns to God who gave it

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:( body)

and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”( spirit )

The flesh and blood can’t inherit the kongdom because it’s appointed to death

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”

Our flesh is corrupt and condemned to die but our spirit can be saved from the second death at the judgement

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

The guy wanted to bury his dad before he left to follow Jesus this doesn’t have anything to do with saying mankind is spiritually dead look at what God said to people all along

man’s flesh is appointed to die because of sin our spirit is going to be judged by the lord

a man’s spirits slept if they belonged to the lord like Joshua who’s spirit was woken up by sauls diviner his spirit wasn’t dead his body had died but his spirit was alive and well just resting in those days

Oir spirits aren’t dead they are surely going to die because of sin that’s why we have to hear and believe the gospel that’s about repentance and remission of our sins n Christ Jesus

We don’t want to be these folks who shall die

insteadof that fate of certain condemnation and death …we can have this one

all the sinners are being called to repent and believe and be saved

We’re going to die if we don’t respond to the lord it’s certain , but so is salvation of we hear and believe him and respond

Jesus was telling that man...
Those who were to bury his PHYSICALLY dead father?
Were, to be SPIRITUALLY dead relatives.

It's not that complicated.
It only takes a little analysis.

Job? Was born again!!!!!!!!!!!

So? He had the human spirit, and the sprit of prophesy was working in him.

Please... Get it to be simple by learning from good teachers. Learn what the intent means.

God did not form a corpse from the ground. Adam's body had biological life at it's formation. What it lacked was human life (soul) and spiritual life (spirit). God breathed in the breath of lives and Adam became a living soul, not a living spirit. Angels are spirits, we are souls.

How can a soul be a living spirit? It would mean any unbeliever which, would also include us at one time, would be without a soul. You can't be a dead soul, only a spiritually dead soul that is, a soul without a spirit.

The essence of who and what we are is soul, created in the image and likeness of God. Initially, all are born body and soul then, when we believe, born again to acquire a spirit. The essence of spirit is immortal because it comes from the "substance" of God who is spirit and this is why the believer will never die. We all still die physically, we are not saved from physical death. Our bodies contain the sin nature so they are not redeemed but transformed through the Resurrection. God destroys the sinful flesh and recreates new bodies.

"Spirit gives birth to spirit". We lack a spirit which is why we must be born from above, which is why we cannot comprehend spiritual matters, which is why we are cut off from God. We inherit Adam's sin nature, a corruption in our flesh (Rom.7:23), which is why God imputes the consequences of Adam's sin (spiritual death) to us at birth even though we have committed no personal sin of our own.

If you are physically dead? You don't have a body. If you are spiritually dead? You don't have a spirit.

Simple. :)
