Some thoughts on the Sabbath...

Hebrews 4:9-13 rest. You realize, man has not yet God has and still does rest, loving. us all om his mercy and truth of Son first. Amazing

I have read somewhere, I don't remember where, that this guy was possibly the son of the Egyptian that Moses killed earlier in Exodus chapter 2. I don't know how that conclusion was drawn, but if that's the case, he was probably rebellious from that point on. Like I say, I don't know if that's the case or not.

I do agree with the conclusions you stated about intentional and unintentional sins. The guy knew better!

So, what do we do? Yeshua showed us! Prayer, doing good works, reading scripture, hearing, and preaching the word, singing, fasting, healing, making oaths and vows to God, offering thanksgivings, yet always glorifying His Holy Name. There is tremendous power in the sabbath.

The issue is blasphemy; the deliberate, insulting, contemptuous and willful lack of reverence for God. This man stood at the foot of the mountain and heard God’s own voice proclaiming his commandments. In his arrogance he then proceeded to publicly challenged God. Not a good idea.

There is no judgement here on how or when anyone chooses to keep sabbath, only the encouragement for thoughts and prayers on the subject.

The 7th day the sabbath day applies to the creation of this earth.

It is a physical sabbath.

The Jews had to obey the sabbath day to do no work on that day.

But the work they could not do was if it was work that had to do with physical prosperity not being a necessity.

The disciples ate of the corn when they went through the field.

And Jesus healed on the sabbath day.

Because love and helping with needs which is love never takes a day off.

They could work on the sabbath if it had to do with helping people with their needs or their own needs.

But they could not work if it had to do with personal prosperity that was not a necessity.

The man picking up sticks was laboring for something that was personal prosperity that did not support the needs of people.

And not an urgency that he had to do it on the sabbath day that was essential.

Obviously those sticks was not a necessity.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross for they were contrary to us for they had no bearing on spiritual salvation.

Which includes the physical sabbath day being taken out of the way.

The physical sabbath is taken out of the way applies to this earth.

Jesus went away to prepare a place for the saints the new earth and heaven.

Which the kingdom of God is within the saints.

And they are strangers and pilgrims on earth.

So they belong to that new earth so they go by a spiritual sabbath and not the physical sabbath that applies to this earth.

Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

When a person receives the Holy Spirit that is their rest and the refreshing.

The Old Testament a physical covenant this earth.

The New Testament a spiritual covenant the new earth.

I think we all do know better. How so?
Read or reread about The King of dreams, Joseph, who had no Law yet put down. Only the knowledge of good and evil. The law of God through Moses was not revealed yet.
Yet, I see Joseph was dependent on God 100% e even through prison I think for 13 years
Then the end of that story being a servant to people in the Famine that happened and restored to family after that
Amazing, God works everything out for us the people in remaining in love to us all
Time to be dependent on Father and Son too. I now know after many years of struggles to see it is true. Even in the book of Job Thank you Farther and Son as Won for us all 1 John 2:1-27

I have never found any verse that made the first day of a week Holy nor a verse removing the 7th from Holy time.
or a even one verse stating sunday is the christian day for worship.

Christ said He is the Master of the 7th Day --- never ever mentioned the first day as special.
I will keep the day Christ is Lord and Master of.

Those that spiritualize the Sabbath do greatly error . The 4th commandment is a physical 7th day practice. And is said to be forever . Yes read Isaiah 66 v22 ,23,24 this confirms it’s for ever . Those that break the law are guilty of all of it that’s the physical Sabbath as well . So the sinner is guilty of breaking the law and the Sabbath. But the believer so called keeps not the Sabbath? A classic example of hypocrisy. Jesus kept the Sabbath and claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath. To spiritualize the Sabbath is to spiritualize the law . No the law is practical living .

This is nonsense. There are so many verses that state love fulfills the law. There is no condemnation in Christ, so stop trying to put it on people just because you have weak faith. As Peter said to the pharisees, why do you tempt God to try put the yoke of the law on the disciples?

The Old Testament contains the Torah in which is defined the Mosaic law which was for Israel and Israel only.

It's overarching purpose was to impose a set of rules and laws regarding both moral and ethic as well as ceremonial laws upon the nation of Israel to set them apart as a distinct people.

The Sabbath in particular that special relevance to them as they were told not to forget it or forsake the Sabbath

However in the New Testament Jesus fulfilled all the requirements for the Mosaic law and ultimately was what the Mosaic law was pointing at that being a need for a savior since nobody could have hold the Mosaic law consisting of 613 laws

New Testament Christians, the gentiles, were never under the Mosaic law. And in Jesus we have our Sabbath rest everyday it is not a singular day as the nation of Israel had it instead at any point in time on any day we can take our Sabbath rest

the Mosaic law never has and never will apply to Christians. Well it is perfectly acceptable to keep Sabbath on Saturday as well as many of the other Mosaic law requirements we are not commanded to do so anywhere in the New Testament

You do not acknowledge the law , it was a physical Sabbath day the 7th . Therefore you must be breaking it . If not keeping it . Very simple to see in the light of scripture.

Christians are not and never will be and never were under the law the law was specifically for the nation of Israel for a period of time

Christian Sabbath can be taken whenever at whatever time at whatever day one desires because our Sabbath is in Christ if you do not understand that that is not my problem but teaching people that not keeping Sabbath is direct heresy to the Protestant Christian

If you're Christian you can keep the Sabbath there's nothing wrong with it but it is not mandated by anything in the Bible and no verse I have seen in almost 60 years of living comes close to implying this unless you have been taught that Paul's work is bad and that there's all sorts of corruption in the Bible and that the Catholic Church changed everything all of which is a load of horse beep beep what this really means is people who think that have been fed a bunch of horse beep beep

You cannot prove the law applies to anybody but Israel unless you have been taught wrong by heretical teachers

The Mosaic law was for Israel only and only for a Time and that time has passed because there is no more levitical law there is no more Temple is no more levitical priesthood and they are not doing sacrifices

why because God brought it to an end with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who ushered in a new law that did not include keeping the Sabbath if you believe the Mosaic law applies to gentiles you're a heretic to the Christian Nation and you can't prove a single point of it without destroying the text to the Bible and imposing a presupposition upon it

The fact is what you're proving by trying to make your point is that not only do you not understand the New Testament but you do not understand the Old Testament and in specifically you do not understand the Mosaic law and most critically you do not understand the work of Jesus Christ on the cross and by this it's clear evidence that you do not know Jesus I don't say that lightly

Sorry I did not write the law your argument is with God . A sinner breaks the law Jew or Gentiles. How is a gentile exempt from the law ? Come on !

If the Law is only for Israel , then it’s impossible for Gentiles to be saved , the law is the school master to bring us to Christ . Can you see the error ?

Galatians chapter 3 is to Gentiles , and yes the law applies. Read it carefully.
