Can you remember when you were first saved and you had this hunger and thirst for God that seemed to deep it ached? That groaning in your spirit for him? how you didn't just read the word you devoured it? Tell me do you still have this to this day? or has your hunger and thirst been quenched? Do you long to have that spark ignited in you again? do you long to be so driven to seek and know God that it is as if it is torture?

We do have seasons when we grow cold or when we become dry everyone does but is it enough for you to simply believe or do you refuse to accept just an ordinary kind of faith and relationship with him? Where is the fire? where is the life? where is that drive with abandon?
I long to see a generation where their hearts desire him and seek him with ever fiber of their being every cell in their body crying out for him to see eyes ablaze spirits engulfing their surroundings a light shining like a brilliant sun

These days being a Christian has settled to being a merely a title a title of their faith or doctrine I have been to many churches many Christian forums some are good and alive but most are not. I do not say this to judge but to remind us all including me that our hearts to beat again for him our souls need to cry out for him with everything in us our worship needs to be alive with life and power. I was reminded of this yesterday when I was worshipping God and my body began to dance and jump on it's own the life that flowed and the power I felt was beyond words.

Some of you know what I speak of some have known it and still do to this day others may have known in the past but have grown cold in it having the memory or head knowledge of it but no longer living in it. Let me see that spark in you let me see that passion that fire that unyeidling desire for him let me see a generation that stands in the face of satan and rebukes him with power and authority in Christ let me see a children who march in the streets singing and worshipping God with all his glory surrounding them

We live in an age where we can communicate by the click of a mouse so why then are we all not spreading the joy and love of God and for him?
How many threads do you see that speak of these things? how many posts do you that make the spirit flow from one person to another like a disease? Can you not feel the emptiness? the lacking of something more? does the spirit not sing unto? remember who you once were and steal it back from the enemy make that fire burn once more let the hunger and thirst overtake you don't just read the word devour it

No yes maybe . I go by Jesus never thirst again ,that should answer it perfectly .to know the hunger thirst is the poor in spirit yes but also can feel others are hungry and thirst so this can be how the Lord may feel cus no one watering or feeding truth with the Spirit .Just know Jesus is seated in the right Hand and thats the Only Jesus Lord &Christ Anointed I/we have ever known .!

Because God shares His very essence (Ruach) for the sole purpose of allowing creation to blossom and multi-multiply independent life (Parah), His fundamental nature must be self-giving, non-possessive, and generative—the exact definition of Agape (divine love)

I can relate to the hunger you're describing. My desire to know God has only grown stronger over the years and I still look forward to spending time with Him every morning. Reading His Word, praying and worshipping are the foundation of my day.

That said, I've also learned that our walk with Christ isn't measured only by our emotions. There are seasons when we feel on fire and seasons when we don't. God's presence and faithfulness don't change, even when our feelings do.

For me, the key has been remaining faithful in the daily disciplines. Reading Scripture, prayer and worship. Whether I feel spiritually "high" or not. As we draw near to Him, He continues to shape us and deepen our love for Him.

I pray that all of us would hunger more for God's Word and desire to know Christ more deeply each day.

I remember as a Bible College student of many years ago, taking God at His word while hungering and thirsting for righteousness, that He would indeed fill me. Never will I forget the day God came and filled me with His Spirit and His overwhelming love. For days I lived with His manifest presence and His love flowing and overflowing to others. God marvelously met me in my time of need, Praise God.

The older I get the hungrier I get , the more of this world that I c the more I long for the end of it and the establishment of God's Kingdom . All I c is people using and abusing each other and God's creation . Desperate for the return of Christ 🙏

I know the hunger and thirst you are describing, and if I am honest with myself, then I have to sadly admit that it has waned in me to a degree that scares me. I am aware of it, and I am desperately seeking to remove the things in my life that have contributed to it. I admitted a while back that I almost feel like my username is describing somebody I once knew. Through repentance and the removal of certain distractions in my life, I will not only regain the hunger and thirst I once had but increase it.

Thanks for your post.

It is good that you recognize the need for perseverance in learning GW until the end. What part are you meditating on most lately? I trust you know that passion means loving commitment rather than emotional feeling.

Learning God's word is not my problem. Actively living it is, but only in the sense that I have allowed things, and sometimes people, into my life that take up too much of my time. In relation to the things, if they have no real eternal value attached to them, then I am actively seeking to replace them with things that do. In relation to the people, as much as I genuinely care about their well-being, the harsh reality is that many people simply don't want my help. Therefore, I need to separate myself from them while trying to help others instead. It's really all just a matter of trying to use whatever time I have left on this earth wisely.

That's about it, and the process has already begun, so I am headed in the right direction.

Yes, it sounds like you are handling things and people well.
I guess you don't want to answer my question about what part of GW interests you most lately?
Another way of asking it is, What issues on CC do you discuss most and/or what threads do you sponsor?

The same part that always has. Jesus said that all the law and prophets hang upon the two commandments of loving God and your neighbor as yourself, so that is my focus.

A lot of the loving God part will be done in secret. Like reading his word and praying to him, but the results of that should manifest outwardly in how we treat and relate to others.

Honestly, the loving my neighbor as I love myself part has tripped me up quite a bit in the past, and I only recently became aware of it. In other words, I have always leaned heavily upon Jesus' commandment to love others as he has selflessly loved us, but I never really considered the part about loving them as I love myself. I do have some self-respect, and when others repeatedly show me no respect, especially when I am respectfully trying to help them, then it is time to walk away.

Like I said earlier, it's really all just a matter of using my time wisely with the hope of fulfilling my calling and truly helping others.

That is the right focus IMO, with the understanding it includes oneself. The part of GW to which you referred is Matt. 22:37-40.
Of course, we should glorify God for first loving sinners and for indwelling believers as the HS, whose love they reflect to Him and others. The truth that God loves everyone serves well as a guiding teaching for understanding or testing GW per 1Thes. 5:21. Other Scriptures teaching divine omnilove include: John 3:16, 1John 4:7-12, Rom. 5:8, Matt. 5:44&48, Gal. 5:6&14, Eph. 3:17b-19, Eph. 5:2 and 1Tim. 2:3-4.

Another guiding or foundational truth to include in a good hermeneutic is that God is just (2Thes. 1:6a, cf. Rom. 3:25-26 & 9:14, Deut. 32:4, Psa. 36:6, Luke 11:42, Rev. 15:3). Explanations of God’s Word should not impugn God’s justice and love for all people (Joel 2:13, John 3:16). This parameter is affirmed in the OT (Psa. 145:17): “The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.”
Even the wrath of God is an expression of His love and justice.

These two guiding truths can serve as points from which to triangulate when attempting to understand problematic passages.
Right/agreed?

I understand all these things. The simple moral of my story is that I have regained my focus upon God and those I can truly help. I honestly have nothing else to say.

Yes, but as I just posted to SG on another thread:

My best friend shares your view, which I think is wrong because it fails to realize that our calling is both to win the lost
and to work or apply GW to immoral politics. Not doing both perverts the Gospel. Of course our hope for heaven is Jesus,
who taught us to pray for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

There may be unbelievers on both sides of the political aisle, but one is blind if he cannot see most atheists are Dems rather than MAGA. CK showed Christians how to apply GW to politics, especially by being one of the first to say that homosexuality is a mental illness rather than a viable alternative lifestyle, which became even more evident as the transgender iteration. Thanks CK! We miss you.
