I have always found, people like me, who do not stress you must obey the ten commandments are far more grieved at their failings concerning what is written in that law, than those who insist they must be obeyed
That is a Subjective comment. You have no idea what people are feeling.

can you give the details of the LAW as mentioned in what you wrote "But the law through God’s Spirit is and was eternal for He is eternal." of what law are you referring to, any verses? i need details to understand what you wrote there.
Sure but it is a lot to unpack, so please bear with me. It took some time. I try not to cut and paste or be rash.
Sorry about any typos. I am sure there are many.

Gen 6:3 says God said, My spirit shall not always strive (plead) with man.

In respect to this the Law was not yet written. Yet in Gen 26:5 says Abraham obeyed God's voice.
What did God's voice tell him to obey?
To keep His charge (watch by his example), His Commandments, His Statutes and His Laws.

Moses as you know wrote this. Moses would not have wrote it the way he did if these Commandments, Statutes and Laws were different then the ones God had given him to walk and write in his charge, watch. Take note however the judgements are not mentioned. Abraham walked with God.

How?

Through God's Spirit through His voice. He believed, he had faith in God and lived accordingly. Not in letters in stone and parchment but in the Spirit of the living God writing upon the fleshly tables of his heart. How do we know?

Let's jump ahead to Rom 1:15-20. In speaking of the Gospel Paul said therein the Gospel is the righteousness of God revealed from Faith to faith; for the just (righteous) shall live by faith keeping in mind that God said that in the time of Noah before the flood that he strove, pleaded with man. And that His testimony in regard to Abraham was that Abraham obeyed His voice, kept His charge (watch, by his example), His Commandments, His Statutes, and His Laws.

Why is it important to keep in mind? Because immediately after saying that the righteousness of God is revealed in the Gospel because the just (righteous) shall live by faith Paul gives a reason for the Gospel. He says in Rom1:18 For (because) the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (hold back) the truth in unrighteousness.
This is an indicative (factual) statement being spoken in the present tense. It applies to all until His return.

So, the question should arise how is it we hold back the truth in unrighteousness if this applies to us?

Paul answers this in Rom 1:19. There he says, Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

In the testimony about Abraham obeying God's voice and what our Lord God said in regard to His Spirit striving with man before the flood we can know what God is making known to man and is manifesting in them.

And that is His Commandments, Statutes, and His Laws. And this from the creation of the world, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

As we continue we see that Paul in chapter one gives a summary of unrighteous things being done and closes the chapter with those who do such things are worthy of death and not them but those take pleasure in them that do so.

With that he starts to make the connection with the things of unrighteousness mentioned in chapter 1 to the Law in chapter two. In respect to those who do such things and judge others Paul says we will be judge by our deeds. To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.... to the Jew first and also to the Gentile. Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; they are all without excuse. For not the hearers of the Law are just(righteous) before God but the doers of the Law shall be justified (made righteous). For when the Gentiles, which have not the law (written on stone and Parchment), do by nature the things contained in the law ( for God has manifested in them from the creation of the world), these, having not the written law on stone and parchment, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, For God has manifested in them, striving, pleading with them from the creation of the world. Their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts through what God manifested to them the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; )

As we continue in chapter 2 we see that the Jews rest in this Law that was mentioned in respect to the list bad things done in Rom 1. And in this resting they know God's will and appovest the things that are more excellent being instructed out of the Law. Confident that through this knowledge they are guides to the blind and light unto to those who are in darkness. But with all this knowing they themselves need to be taught because when they teach thou shalt not commit adultery and steal they themselves are doin that which they are teaching not to do. As the beginning of the chapter stated for wherein thou judgest (teaches) another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. They were committing idolatry taking the glory of God and making unto the image of man and beasts, men with men and women with women doing that which is not appropriate. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 3 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful. and at the same time teaching the ways of God therefore blaspheming and dishonoring Him. They were given the oracles (the divine utterances) of God but were not living what they professed. They were living a lie. But shall the truth of God come to no affect? No, in no way! Let God be true and every man a liar. For the truth of God abounded regardless of the lie we live or lived. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

But now the righteousness of God is manifested without the Law that gave us the knowledge of sin, the divine utterances that were written down as our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ and entrusted unto the Jews. Even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ INTO all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: The righteousness which is of Faith, that which is of God and is established through the Gospel that the Just live by. For the righteousness of God speaketh on this wise, Say not in our, bring Christ down from above or up from the deep. But what does it say, The Word, the Law is in our heart through Christ that we do it. That IS THE WORD OF FAITH in which we preach. That with the heart man believes INTO righteousness and with the mouth we assent, confess unto the Lord. This is the Faith that the Just, the righteous live by. This is the faith that establishes the Law. (Rom 3:1-32; 10:6-10)

you got it right especially about the word fulfill that means as you wrote"meaning He came to make it full, expand its understanding, and embody its perfect righteousness." People who reject the commandments and wont do the will of God explain as "to end", " finished" wich is a lie.
God does not end the law, although it is now obsolete. The law still has a purpose, but not what legalists claim. God puts sinners to death and raises them up to new life. Or do you call that a lie too?

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19. What laws apply to dead people?

But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." Romans 7:6.

"All who rely on works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” The law, however, is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.” Galatians 3: 1-12

When you follow the law, you are not living by faith. That means that you are not pleasing God.

"Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian." Galatians 3:23-25

The law does not save us and neither does it make us righteous. "Whoever keeps the whole law, but stumbles at just one point, is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:10

"But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Galatians 5:18

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Romans 8:14

That which was written in stone and parchment. That is which was added. But the law through God’s Spirit is and was eternal for He is eternal.
Are you saying the 10 commandments did not exist before Sinai??

Was killing a sin?
Was lying a sin?

God said to Remember the sabbath..

It must of been present before that day.

Was it a sin to commit Adultery before Sinai??

Are the principles in the 10 commandments eternal ?

The law was added..? Which law was added ? If the principles already existed, they were not added.

The cerimonial laws were added
And this makes sense because the cerimonial laws are a type of how Jesus would deal with sin..

The law was added because of sin.

The 10 commandments define sin.

That which was written in stone and parchment. That is which was added. But the law through God’s Spirit is and was eternal for He is eternal.

Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Sin was in the world.

No law = no sin.

What was defining the sin that was in the world? It was the law. Adam sinned, Cain sinned, people were sinning in the days before the flood.

No law = no sin.

Sin was in the world before Mt Sinai, so there must have been a law. Sin is not imputed were there is no law.

The law was added... you can not say that is talking about the 10 commandments because all of the commandments already existed before Mt Sinai.

But the sin caused God to give the people the cerimonial laws.

The sanctuary, the feasts, the penalties for transgressing the laws..

When you follow the law, you are not living by faith. That means that you are not pleasing God.
No

When you try to save yourself by keeping the Law you are not living by faith.

When you follow the law by faith it is pleasing to God..

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Rom 6:15-16
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Are you teaching that faith makes the law void?

The law does not save us and neither does it make us righteous. "Whoever keeps the whole law, but stumbles at just one point, is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:10

"But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Galatians 5:18
Is James teaching us to keep or not keep the law?

Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

To have faith without works is dead....

If you are lead by the Spirit .... ? You will not be sinning when the Spirit leads.

The flesh is what leads us to sin.
The Spirit leads us to obedience and righteousness and Christlikeness.

Christ never sinned because He followed the Spirit rather then the flesh.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Rom 8:3-4
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Notice that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit.

If we are lead by the Spirit we do not sin and we obey the law.
The law has no power to condemn us as sinners because we are lead by the power of the Spirit.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We are not saved by keeping the Law and we are not made righteous by obeying it.
But we do not continue to sin and transgress the law because of grace.

Should murder and steal because the blood of Jesus can forgive me or cover me.
NO. SIN IS DEATH. Walk in the Spirit.

Are you saying the 10 commandments did not exist before Sinai??
Not on stone or parchment. Not a written law, as oracles of God that the Jews were given which is what Paul is referring to in Romans chapters 2-7 and Galatians. chapters 2-5.

Please distinguish which law was added.

There is no sin without law.

But sin was present from Adam to Moses.

Which law was added and which law was defining sin?
Sorry I did not respond to your post above. @2Christ asked something similar and this the response to them. Yes it is long but the answer entails a lot. So please read it through before responding, thanks.

Gen 6:3 says God said, My spirit shall not always strive (plead) with man.

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19. What laws apply to dead people?...
Right, so are you INDEED dead but alive, yet not you who lives but Christ Jesus and the Life you now live in the flesh you are living by the Faith OF the Son of God who gave Himself for us?

Or are you living a life of sin?
Sinning daily in thought and or deed?

Living therefore by the knowledge of sin, for the Law tells what sin is. As Paul said he would not of known Sin (covetousness) but by the Law.

We can throw the Bible out according to the doctrine you share. Both the Old and New are of the Letter. We are to be a people of the Spirit living through Christ, one with God. Yet even you have returned unto the Schoolmaster. Still ministering through the Letter and not by the Spirit of the living God.

That means that you are not pleasing God.,,

"Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian." Galatians 3:23-25...
But admittedly you say there is sin in your life, and you would have not known sin but by the Law. The Law is your schoolmaster. For by the Law is the knowledge of sin. You have not put on the fullness of Christ, you are still alive and not dead and the live you now live in the flesh you live your faith and not that which is of the Son of God who gave Himself for us.

"But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Galatians 5:18

What fruits are we manifesting? There are list there for those who are living through the Spirit and those who are of the flesh. It is one or the other, not both.

But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." Romans 7:6...

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Romans 8:14

All that is in your Bible too.
Chapter six speaks of this death of the old man, the Body of Sin being destroyed and being alive unto God through the Spirit.
And chapter 8 picks back up on the purpose of this when it says, that the righteousness of the Law be fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. As it is also written, we need to mortify the deeds of the Body through the Spirit that we live. If not we shall die.

Is that just some deeds?

Do you know what the Letter says of incontinence?

2Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Tim 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Tim 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Observations may well be subjective, but they can still be true. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. People expose their true selves by their words. I agree with Thaddeus, based on 55 years of observation and listening.
Judging the heart? Only God knows the heart.

55 years of....as if that matters

Please feel free to respond, I will not be doing so any more in regard to this.

Conclusion
Across all these passages, the pattern is clear: Paul never abolishes the Ten Commandments. He addresses human sin, guilt, ritual burdens, and misapplied law, contrasting the old system with the new life in Christ. The Ten Commandments remain holy, perfect, and eternal. What changes is the way believers obey: empowered by the Spirit rather than by fear, ritual, or human effort. Misunderstanding Paul comes from ignoring audience, context, and historical background. Reading Paul alongside Jesus’ teachings shows continuity: the Ten Commandments continue to be the foundation of righteous life, now written on the heart of every believer (Jeremiah 31:33; John 14:15).
As Paul himself declares, “For we know that the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good” (Romans 7:12). For modern readers, this means we follow Christ not by abandoning the Ten Commandments, but by letting the Spirit enable us to live them fully, in freedom, love, and joy.

1. Jewish legal writings speak of a sheṭar or get, written documents of obligation (see Mishnah, tractate Bava Metzia 1–2; also Josephus, Antiquities, 16.34). Greek and Roman cultures used the word cheirographon for a signed debt note, and hundreds of such papyrus documents have been found in Egypt and Asia Minor.
2. Erasing or cancelling a debt document is described in the Babylonian Talmud, tractate Bava Batra 13b, and in many Greek papyri where lenders “strike out” or “wipe clean” the written debt to show it is forgiven.
3. Paul’s audience included both Jewish and Gentile believers familiar with the law of Moses and Pharisaic additions; Jewish converts knew ceremonial rules, while Gentiles might misinterpret Paul if read without context.
4. Historical records of the temple wall and inscriptions appear in Josephus, Antiquities 15.11.
5. The Ten Commandments were literally engraved on two tablets of stone (Exodus 31:18; 32:15–16).
6. Moses’ radiant face reflected the shekinah glory of God (Exodus 34:29–35); the Mishnah (Shabbat 1:4) notes the fading radiance.
In any discussion of the Mosaic Covenant and its impact on present-day Christians, there are many significant Bible passages to be taken into account, not least Acts 15, in which we learn of the Apostolic Council and its decision on requirements that Gentiles were required to comply with in order to remain in the Church. Some posters on this thread seem to be arguing that, still today, Gentile Christians are subject to every one of the hundreds of rules that have been laid down for observant Jews over the centuries, beginning with Moses and the Ten Commandments but continuing in Leviticus and even further into the OT. The question I would like to ask is a simple one: How can we reconcile that view with the rulings proclaimed by James the Just in Acts 15?

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Are you teaching that faith makes the law void?
I am teaching that the law no longer applies to believers. I teach that because the Bible says exactly that. God's commandments are not the law. God's ways and His will are no longer external, they are within the believer. Be led by the Spirit, obey the leading of the Spirit, and you will do just fine. Putting yourself back under the law is not pleasing to God.

The law has its purpose. Once it has led us to Christ, it has fulfilled that purpose.

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19. What laws apply to dead people?

But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." Romans 7:6.

Do you acknowledge the difference between keeping the law because it is written on the heart, and keeping it to establish your own righteousness?

2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Written by the Spirit on the heart.

The law is not void. It is written on the heart.

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

It is written on the heart by the Spirit. That does not make it void.

Do you acknowledge the difference between establishing our own righteousness and allowing Christ to establish His righteousness in us by faith.

The righteousness of Christ is obedience to the law..

Because of grace we do not make the law void. We establish the law.

What fruits are we manifesting? There are list there for those who are living through the Spirit and those who are of the flesh. It is one or the other, not both.

2Tim 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Tim 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Incontinence is a bladder problem. I'm fine in that regard. Thanks for asking.

I walk and I live in the Spirit. I'm not sure I can recite the 10 commandments. I can assure you that God's requirements for me are far higher than simply obeying a set of rules. They are so high that I cannot keep them. So I ask Jesus to live in my place. Lord Jesus has already lived the perfect life that pleased God. Now He does the same in me and through me.

You legalists are utterly confused. You are clueless as to what it means to be crucified with Christ and raised up to be a new creation. Do you imagine that Lord Jesus checks Himself out to see if He is obeying the 10 commandments?

On earth, it is Christ in me, the hope of glory. In heaven, I died and my life is hidden in Christ with God. Since it is no longer I that lives, God's demands on me no longer apply. And God no longer looks at me in isolation. He sees me in Christ.

Easy. It is not possible to reconcile the law with Acts 15. Not that the truth is of any help to those who insist on obeying the letter of the Law, the Letter that kills. And they are not content to subject themselves to the law. They have to try and impose the law on others.

You say walk in the Spirit and then say that we must obey the law. You are utterly confused. Do you not know what it means to be crucified with Christ? Do you not know what it means to be a new creation in Christ?

Because of grace we do not make the law void. We establish the law.
How can we establish a law that we die to? You need to discover what it means to be a new creation in Christ.

Do we make void the law through faith?

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19.
You cut and paste a lot and never address anything.
As for your proclamation Not if we sin and therefore are living in the flesh.

Because if we have not crucified the flesh and the lust thereof. We have not not accepted the baptism into Christ fully and therefore have not put on Christ and are not dead but alive. And the life we now live in the flesh is by our own faith and not that of the faith of the Son of God who gave himself for us.

We have not mortified the deeds of the Body and shall die. And The righteousness of the Law is not fulfilled in us because we are not walking after the Spirit but after the flesh. A little leaven has leavened the whole. The mystery of iniquity has begun it's work. Repent and be healed, for the time of refreshing is at hand. Confess our sins that the Law gave us knowledge to and He is faith and Just to forgive, send away that sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience (the old man) from dead works (Sin, acts that cause death, for the wages of sin is death) to serve the living God? For this purpose Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant. For without His blood there is no remission. It is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats take away sin. For in those sacrifices there was a remembrance of sin every year. but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof, in respect to this perfectness the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and there sins and iniquities will no longer be brought unto my remebrance. For my Laws are in there hearts and minds, they are perfected and sanctified once and for all. Lo they are of the volume of the Book, that is written of them, for the Law is in their hearts and minds to do the will of God.

Let us hold fast THIS profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promise. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we are sinning willfully after we receive the knowledge of the truth there remains no more sacrifice for sin only judgment and the fiery indignation of the Lord. Because we trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith we were sanctified, an unholy thing and done despite unto the Spirit of Grace. For God has said, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people! Vengeance belongs to me says the Lord. And it is terrible thing to fall in the hands of the living God.

So let's be not of the ones that draw back of the perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Incontinence is a bladder problem. I'm fine in that regard. Thanks for asking.

Maybe you think you are funny. What you wrote there is blasphemous and therefore of Satan. Because God said in regard to our living in the flesh and continuing in the sin that the Law gives knowledge to and is to be established by the Faith of Christ, That if we are or claim to incontinent that we have a form of godliness but deny the Power thereof and from such a people like this the people of God are to turn away. God said that not me.

2Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Tim 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Little children be not confused! They who do righteousness are righteous even as He is righteous. He that sins is of the Devil. Shall we continue in the sin that the Law gives us knowledge to that grace abounds? NO, in NO Way. How shall we who are dead to the sin that the Law gave us knowledge to and that faith is to establish live any longer therein.

Know you not that we who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ that the Body of the sin that the Law gave the knowledge to be destroyed. That hence forth we are not slaves to the sin that the law gave us knowledge to. But slaves to righteousness because we are dead, but alive. Yet not us but Christ Jesus lives in us and the Life we now live in the flesh we live by the faith OF the Son of God and so walk in newness of Life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. For the SON HAS MADE US FREE and FREE WE are INDEED! Being made free from the sin that the Law gave us knowledge to, we become servants to God, and we have our fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of the sin that the Law gave us knowledge to is death, but if we through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the Body we shall live. For the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord that the righteousness of the Law that gave us the knowledge of sin be fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. For the Word, the Law is in our hearts that we do that which is in us and therefore us. That is the Word if Faith in which we preach that the Just, righteous live by that establishes the Law that gave us the knowledge of sin.
