Now, don't go bonkers. I have a lot of suspicions of AI, however so did many about radio when it came on the scene, movies, television and even newspapers . Let us not forget telephones, mobile phones etc.
Any and all used with prudence are useful. All will pass come the fire next time
PS. At 82 I do not recall the global weather conditions ever as they have been of late, so I will be brave and actually give credit to global warming.
The few times I travelled out of the country, in the northern hemisphere that is, I would intentionally do it in June of September in order to miss all the heat of summer. Today, that simply does not apply.

Seriously. There are videos that "report" certain formerly popular celebrities who are not as public as they once were, have died.

It's all lies.

A lot of lazy content creators have resorted to using AI and a script to produce videos of them making the same bodily motions repeatedly every 2-5 seconds continually for the entire video. But, the motions are not fluid enough and become distracting in a 'grating' kind of way. I tend to not watch those, either.

Yes - I could simply listen to those - but - if they do not care enough to produce a better video that is actually worth watching - then, I suppose I just do not have that much interest in their videos...

The use of AI has literally caused people to stop thinking altogether. They are just using it to think for them. Instead of conversations, people just copy/past AI responses. Instead of debating interpretations with people, you're just talking to AI's. People are even using it during normal conversations with the same argument that they're just using it to polish what they say. (Doubt it.)

Social Media brought internet warriors and lack of responsibility as people can hide behind anonymity. And society got worse as we started treating each other worse.

AI then took it to another level... giving internet warriors a tool and other people a means to never think again!

You think internet conversation NOW is bad... You should have seen it back when "internet" was a nerd-only sport.

Any tool can be used constructively or destructively. You can use a hammer to build a house or to smash somebody's finger. You can use facebook to keep in touch with absent friends or to waste your entire life.

AI is just another tool. And like many, many tools, it has enthusiastic adherents and haters forecasting it will be the end of the world.

Did you know that newspapers were often criticized for not being real books? People said they trapped readers in shallow, passing information instead of being deep, contemplative works of literature.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go listen to a vinyl record... Although many hate that Edison contraption because it is going to be the death of real music.
