I have a bit of a Litmus Test that determines who best understands Nebuchadnezzar's image (in chapter two of the Book of Daniel) as well as the Beast of Revelation. The way it works is simple. If one can match Nebuchadnezzar's image to each head of the Beast, then their interpretations are worth the time to study and consider, i.e., they understand a major portion of Biblical prophecy. Those who are unable to match the image with the heads often have great difficulty explaining their position when the tough questions are asked.

That being said, I am going to offer my own take on how Nebuchadnezzar's image matches up with the seven (actually eight) heads of the Beast. I encourage folks to ask questions, discuss, debate, correct any errors I may have made, agree/disagree, contribute your theories, etc.

Nebuchadnezzar's Image vs. Heads of the Beast
Head of Gold:
Babylon - Third Head of the Beast
Chest and Arms of Silver: Medo-Persia - Fourth Head of the Beast
Belly and Thighs of Brass: Greece - Fifth Head of the Beast
Legs of Iron - Rome: Sixth Head of the Beast
Feet of Iron and Clay: Times of the Gentiles - Seventh Head of the Beast
Toes of Iron and Clay: Mark of the Beast Instituted - Eighth Head of the Beast

Daniel 2 is the same vision as Daniel 7 which are 4 kingdoms.

Daniel 7:1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

Daniel had a vision of 4 kingdoms that were different than each other which is the 4 ways of people.

Although all 4 kingdoms went by the 4 ways one of those ways was their chief mode of operation.

4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

The first is Babylon, lion, which represents human religion, the occult.

They rode on eagle's wings which king Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the God of Israel as the greatest of the gods.

He proclaimed throughout his kingdom that if any person said anything amiss against Him that they would be cut in pieces and their house made a dunghill.

The king's son took the throne and blew it which the wings were plucked and they were known as the kingdom of man.

This is the same kingdom as the gold in Daniel 2.

5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

The second is Medo-Persia, bear, which represents human cruelty in war.

It was raised on one side for the Persian influence was greater.

3 ribs in the mouth of it which is 3 nations they conquered in league with them.

This is the same kingdom as the silver in Daniel 2.

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

The third is Greece, leopard, which represents human wisdom.

It had 4 heads which when Alexander died his kingdom was divided in to 4 sections with a general ruling each section.

This is the same kingdom as the brass in Daniel 2.

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

The fourth is the Roman Empire, iron, which represents pushing for territory, world domination.

10 horns come from them which is the world divided in to 10 sections with a leader in each section.

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The antichrist comes from the 10 horns who come from the Roman Empire.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

They shall devour the whole earth, and tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Which is by way of the new age christianity which interprets the Bible and religions according to the occult and evolution, and people are going to evolve to be spiritual, and Jesus became an ascended master, and there is no personal God, and the New Age Christ is the final teacher.

The religion of the antichrist.

This is the same kingdom as the iron in Daniel 2.

And the 10 horns the same as the 10 toes in Daniel 2.

11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Babylon, Medo-Persia, and Greece will never have physical dominion again but their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Which means their ways are still on earth.

The Roman Empire does not lose their dominion until Jesus puts down the beast kingdom in Revelation.

Which the gold, silver, brass, and iron do not pass away until Jesus hits the feet of the image in Daniel 2.

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

All 4 kingdoms ways are at the beast kingdom.

Babylon, lion, human religion, the occult, the kingdom of man.

Medo-Persia, bear, physical cruelty in war to go against all people who oppose their system.

Greece, leopard, human religion.

Roman Empire, iron, pushing for territory, world domination, physical dominion.

All 4 kingdoms chief mode of operation the kingdom of man in its entirety.

The kingdom is Babylon in spirit which represents the kingdom of man.

A person either belongs to the kingdom of God or Babylon.

Revelation 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

The 7 heads are 5 kings, kingdoms.

5 are fallen.

Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, and Greece.

1 is at the time John wrote Revelation.

Roman Empire.

1 is to come and will continue for a short space.

Three and one half years.

The beast is the 8th king and will be of the 7 because the devil influenced those 7 kingdoms.

Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

In chapter 12 the crowns are on the heads Satan in the spiritual realm deceiving people by the 7 kingdoms.

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

In chapter 13 the crowns are on the horns Satan in the physical realm deceiving people appearing as the antichrist.

@tablet123 . That is an excellent summary. I appreciate it.

If you have time, perhaps you can help me with the feet and toes of Nebuchadnezzar's image.

You will notice that the feet are a 'divided' kingdom:

Daniel 2:41 - And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

However, the toes have the word 'broken' associated with it:

Daniel 2:42 - And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

What do you make of that? Is the word 'broken' simply referring to a weakened or 'brittle' state, or could that kingdom have experienced some sort of major calamity?

If anyone else has an opinion on this, I would like to hear it.

We're already living in the 7th kingdom of the feet of iron and clay! According to one interpretation, iron is not just the Roman Empire, but also imperialism, the clay is independent nation states. This wave of national independence appeared after WWII, a turning point is Israel's independence. The iron's control is loosened from these small nations of clay, that makes the overall state of the world brittle and unstable.

We could very well be, but how would one prove that?

The verse about the seventh head is something that I am still looking for an answer to:

Revelation 17:10 - And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

Who is 'he'? When did he show up? How long is a 'short space'?

I wonder if Revelation 17:10 is a reference to Hitler?

According to one interpretation, iron is not just the Roman Empire, but also imperialism, the clay is independent nation states.

That is a reasonable interpretation.

This wave of national independence appeared after WWII, a turning point is Israel's independence.

Hmmm. Right after Hitler died.

The iron's control is loosened from these small nations of clay, that makes the overall state of the world brittle and unstable.

That makes sense.

Have you looked into Hitler as the seventh head? Compared to the other six kingdoms, the Third Reich was indeed very short.

I have, but not a very in-depth study. If you have links or vids that connect the seventh head to the Third Reich, please post a few here.

Note that if we were to view the various heads of the Beast as well as kingdoms of Nebuchadnezzar's image as kingdoms that treated the Israelites/Jews in a hostile manner, then Hitler would indeed be a good fit.

I looked into it several years ago and found a website that promoted this idea, but I don't know if it even still exists. I just put it out there as a suggestion if anyone wants to investigate. It seems like a good theory to me.

Actually I'm not entirely sure though.

There's another urban legend, that Russia is the eastern leg of the statue, Moscow is the third Rome, it has spiritually and legally inherited the legacy of Byzantine empire, the second Rome after the fall of the first Rome in the 5th century. When Russia no longer exists as we know it, then the end is official, there'll be no more iron grip, pun intended. And things seem to progress in that direction, in case you don't know, waves upon waves of Ukrainian drone attack is bleeding Russia dry, many keep targets like oil refinery and warehouse are destroyed. Putin has not much time left.

Here's a rare image that illustrates the beast as it's actually described in Revelation 13 and 17.

eight-heads-jpg.233744

Revelation 13: "And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads blasphemous names. And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion."

Revelation 17: "And the beast which was, and is not, is also an eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition."

Daniel 7:8 "I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words."

The "little horn" is also the eighth head of the beast. The lion with a mouth and eyes of a man.

This illustration is highly inaccurate and misleading. In Rev. 17 we read that five of the sevem have fallen, one remains, and other to come. Therefore there's always only one head at a time, when it's chopped off, another grows out.

It's not inaccurate or misleading. Perhaps you can find or create and image that you think would be more accurate.

Revelation 12:

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

Revelation 13:

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Revelation 17:

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

Be careful to keep in proper perspective both the vision and the reality - in the vision, the beast figure most certainly has seven heads and ten horns ("all at once") - how that conveys into what it represents in reality is another thing altogether.

I suggest that a picture used to illustrate what the creature may have looked like in the vision is valid if it is accurate.

The beast jsut doesn't have the seven heads all at once, they come in succession, one after another
What you're talking about is part of it, it's the interpretation. The image I posted reflects the vision as John saw it and described it.

I'd rather picture the beast with only one lion head, which is wounded and then healed, to avoid confusion.

Speaking of which, though, I think that the healing of the deadly wound is a fake resurrection. The Antichrist will fake everything Jesus did, including and especially the resurrection.

It sounds like you'd prefer an image that's a one-stop-shop for every description and explanation in scripture. If you can find one that's great; but just because the one I posted doesn't meet your requirements, doesn't mean it's inaccurate or misleading.

Well, scripture sends a consistent message, doesn't it. It must be consistent.

The empire that took over Israel after Rome was Islam. That Empires advance was cut off in Spain. It has two main feet, Shia and Sunni. The Islamists hope to revive the Islamic Empire, unified under the coming Mahdi, who would lead the eighth, which is of the seventh. The Islamists have been terrible, and trampled many nations, but prone to in-fighting among themselves. And they prefer beheading as their form of capital punishment.
