I've actually seen this a few times over the years. Good movie, mostly because of all the spiders lol.
This was actually after he was Captain Kirk. The original Star Trek was on the air in the late 60s and Kingdom of the Spiders is from '77.
I am fan of the original Star Trek. One of my top favorite shows. I've seen the episodes so many times that I don't have to watch them anymore, they just play out in my head lol.

The scariest part of the movie was when that car drove down the street. It was running over the little extras!
I used to raise Mexican Red Knee Tarantulas. They are the friendliest of any species of tarantula. Very pretty too. It's the one that I see in the first movie marque I accidentally posted.
Exports were banned because of over collection.

Btw, Clint Eastwood plays a minor role in this movie as a pilot. I think it was his second movie appearance, his first was Revenge of the Creature (1955).
It's been a long time, but wasn't he a fighter pilot in this one, or am I mixing up movies?
I loved those vintage giant monster movies.
It's funny how he got those early roles and skyrocketed when he did those Italian spaghetti westerns. The foreign flix are what became hits.
We would watch a Pittsburgh station Saturday nights by Bill Cardile aka Chilli Billy who dressed like a laid back vampire and played those old classics. He called it Chiller Theater.
Then SCTV out of Canada did a running skit based on him, but over the top. You might have seen Count Floyd and called his Monster Chiller Horror Theater.

Avondale is famous for it's Avondale spiders in the movie Arachnophobia (which I haven't seen) and there is a big sculpture of a spider in it's town centre.

I hope he remerges at some point later on. Maybe they could put him at the Sunday Market held at the Racecourse? IDK. Or maybe on top of the library??
I've definitely seen Arachnophobia (1990) too. I even still have the dvd lol.

People go on and on about muslims in Australia trying to take over, but that should be the least of your worries.
I'd be more worried about the poisonous spiders, termites eating you out of house and home, saltwater crocodiles, sting rays, jellyfish, sharks, the dingos that eat babies, the wild rabbits that escaped the 'rabbit proof fence', the prickly pears, the cane toads, and the intense tropical cyclones. As well as dying from thirst in the outback.
Oh not to mention the blistering heat in summer.

I did see a huntsman spider and snake though. I didn't take a photo. They had them at the Sydney Marathon running show, two keepers, one had a snake on her arm and the other had a spider on his cap.
Real ones not fake ones.
Spider was a huntsman and I'm not sure what the snake was, it was yellow with black spots I think.
They let people pet them but I wasn't that keen. In the Sydney CBD actually both sides have skyscrapers/tall buildings, so the spiders could feel at home like spiderman does I suppose.
The snakes look sort of like garden hoses you have in the suburbs, except fatter.

And ..wombats. The wombats at Taronga live in a burrow so I wasn't able to see them during the day, they are nocturnal. You can go into the burrow where they have their homes but can't actually see them or hold them like you can with the koalas.
Tree Kangaroos are interesting. I also saw the Tasmanian Devil and Quokkas.
I wish I could have seen a cockatoo or galah but the only birds I saw up close were 'bin chickens'.
