Reason leaves the room in the wake of the charge, Calvinism, when the Bible scriptures relating to God's predestination of all things is discussed.
It's a shame. Because it is God saying these things first.

1Corinthians 15
For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is clear that this excludes the Father who put all things in subjection to Him.
From my perspective, being in error of magnifying our creator, isn't the worst position to be in. lol
At the end of the day, God will judge us all, and that's really the big picture. Whether we are predestined for eternal life, or death, it's all in God's hands. And that brings me peace. It's all in God's hands!
