Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. That is how Satan felt free to have the audacity to covet the Throne of the Most High.
I always thought satan was prideful because he was the "anointed cherub" and God set him as such. It is a special privilege from God to be singled out in any capacity (imho). satan was set apart in some fashion and his wisdom was corrupted because of his pride.
I look at some of the records in Scripture which indicate heaven is filled with praise for God ... holy worship of Most High God ... and that is how it should be.
satan wanted that praise and adoration for himself and, in his pride, he thought he could attain it ... he even thought he could bamboozle the Lord Jesus Christ into worshipping him.
heh ... R.B. Thieme???No... I did not think of that myself.
