Hi Mo_mo so glad you found us, welcome to CC! When you read the New Testament of the Bible, Mathew-Mark-Luke-John, you will see who Jesus is, the Son of the only God Creator & Father to us all. Have fun browsing the Forums and feel free to ask any questions you might have. God bless & keep you and yours and may He light your path to Him, IJNA🙏🙌✨

I would strongly recommend you get a copy of C. S. Lewis' book Mere Christianity. Next to the bible, I think it is one of the best starting places for someone new, or even just curious. It begins by exploring some of our very basic beliefs about being human and then proceeds in an orderly fashion to explore Christianity.

Welcome to CC. May God bless your search.
Thanks for the suggestion i will look for that

Is there anything specifically you are wanting to know?

Let me explain.
Christianity as a whole, on a entry level believer status does not require a lot of knowledge.
However, the knowledge base available is almost inexhaustible. There are MANY areas of specialization and each one requires almost a doctorate (PHD) in a specific area to be able to explain some things more clearly.

Now because Christianity values and prioritizes forgiveness and unearned favor (called grace) we generally tolerate people who become confused and believe something different from the rest of us so long as it is a minor thing.
And it must be minor. This is because there is a LOT a person can learn or only partially learn and others be completely ignorant about it.

However, because some aspects of Christianity require specialties in education....and average people are simply people....sometimes forgetful or have incomplete knowledge....I thought i might be able to direct your questions to specific resources. Some people do so well in their particular subjects but then absolutely fail on others.
I'm sure you know all about this from people in your own communities.....some with cultural or family ties to their beliefs. Sunni, Shiite, and Wahabis. All different sects believing themselves to be more right than the others.

So...just ask...we will see what we can accomplish.

I know what you are talking about. You have a vaild point. I think the trinity concept I didn’t get it but also i never read a Christian source explaining it

Jesus, the son of God, He invites whoever willing to join in blood covenant with Him. He died on the cross to cover our sins, and He rose from the dead after 3 days.

Whoever believes in Jesus, accepting His blood covenant, shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Hi all,
Muslim here. Just curious about Jesus and christianity . Do you recommend any resources to begin learning from?
Thanks
As-salamu alaykum.

The best place to go to learn about our Jesus, known as Isa in your faith,is to a local church.

Sit with their pastor,or even go during a Sunday service.

Online forums are not the best most reliable place to learn about Christ.

Welcome Mo_mo, I, for one, welcome Muslim brothers into friendly discussions about our differing but related faiths. I doubt that Ismal would have arisen without Judaic-Christian influences.

The Trinity is a problem for Christians to understand most accept it and fumble around to find an explanation. I suspect that it is an outgrowth of the combination of wanting Jesus to be divine, the experience of the divine in people's daily lives and Greco-Roman philosophy/theological history. tied to their general pre-historic cultural ties. Most language groups that have been studied have developed two generic types of religions, one basically monotheistic and one pantheistic. But both traditions, in the majority of cases, all have some concept of a triune deity, in pantheistic ones they maintain a greater distinction than in monotheistic ones. But they all also recognize a basic unity, one entity somehow divided itself into three parts, with varying degrees of clearly independent existence.

Now in Indo-European religions, archeological and documentary evidence seems to indicate that the appropriate sacrifice for the three aspects were, for the creator aspect a bull; for the redeemer/savior aspect, a human; and for the sustainer aspect. a horse. Christianity, developing largely within the Greco-Roman culture, a product of Indo-European traditions, elevated the sacrifice to the redeemer/savior aspect to an ultimate state and found ways to justify the action, whether rightly or wrongly, and that includes the writers of the source documents as they were heavily influence by that tradition, likely unconsciously, even ancient Israel had extensive contact with Indo-European traditions.

Now for this....
I know that this will seem a bit childish but bear with me....

People stumble over this topic....and it's OK to just say the words without completely understanding them....

Who can really fully understand God? (Allah)

Moses saw just a glimpse of God through a Crack in the Rock and glowed for days to the point he had to wear a veil. (He was scaring people)

So....this is where the writers of this cartoon can explain the various errors to a famous cartoon Saint very popular and well known in the Western world....it's only under 4 minutes.

^ Gospel of John is often recommended as a great place to start reading the Bible.
This movie is a word-for-Word portrayal of John's gospel.

Also, please check out the Alpha Course.
