HI and thank you for prayers. My family is going through so much right now. Finances, health, It feels like it never stops. I have been asking to feel God's presence and even a sigh that He is still with me. There is a woman who preaches and she calls herself an Apostle. Her followers said that if I don't believe that she is a vessel of God I have blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Since I don't believe or am unsure I am so afraid that God has left me. My husband hurt his back, his job isn't going well. My son who has been mentally and physically ill is having nosebleeds and no energy. He was just at the doctor but he needs to go back. I'm scared that all of these things that are happening are because of me being unsure of this woman who calls herself and Apostle. I feel lost. Please pray for us and that I feel the presence of God. Please pray for my son's healing. I'm so scared. Thank you. God bless you. Carmen. My son's name is Jakeb and my husband's name is Robb.
Sister, first, let me say plainly: I do
not believe your husband's back injury, your son's illness, your financial struggles, or your fear are happening because you were unsure about a woman who calls herself an apostle.
Nowhere does Scripture teach that questioning a preacher's claims is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
In fact, Scripture commands believers to:
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God" (1 John 4:1).
The Bereans were commended because they:
"searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so" (Acts 17:11).
Testing someone's teaching is obedience, not blasphemy.
Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is not sincerely wondering whether a preacher is truly sent by God.
The Pharisees witnessed the work of God through Christ and knowingly attributed it to Satan (Matt. 12:24-32).
What I hear in your message is not someone rejecting God.
I hear someone frightened, exhausted, and carrying more than she can bear.
As for feeling abandoned, remember: "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Heb. 13:5).
And: "A bruised reed shall he not break" (Matt. 12:20).
The Lord knows what is happening in your home far better than anyone on the internet.
I will certainly pray for you, for Robb, and for Jakeb. And regarding Jakeb's nosebleeds and lack of energy, please don't ignore those symptoms. If the doctor said he needs to return, I would encourage you to follow up promptly.
Sister, your fear is telling you that God has left you.
Scripture says the opposite.
Hold on to what God has said, not to what fear is shouting.
Christ's sheep are not kept by perfect feelings.
They are kept by a faithful Shepherd.
